Lets say I was NOT very impressed. By the ratings of 4 stars and all the good reviews me and my sisters decided we were going to come in and have our sister dinner there. First, let me state that the restaurant was not very big which was okay nor was it fancy or upscale in any way. Second, the waitress we had was not very friendly. Third, their menu did not have much to offer. Fourth, their food was not very good. Out of 3 dinner dishes only 1 of them actually was any good. The waitress came to clean up the dinner dishes and asked if we wanted boxes to go because she seen that my dish was still FULL and my sisters was halfway, I politely told her we didnt want boxes and it was because the food wasnt very good. She asked me why and I told her that my sisters food was "very bland and had no taste to it" and "my dish Ive never had carbonaro taste the way it did, overall all it just did not taste good." She stated "ohhhhh..." but did nothing to comp our dinner. That in it self threw me off a little. You would think since we spent almost $100 on dinner that they would atlease done something to keep customers happy so they might want to come back. Final last thing, their desert was delicious. (We got cheesecake, creme brulee, and pudding) No, complains or arguments there. Now it all boils down, would we ever come back for their food, probably not. Would we come back for wine and desert?? Maybe... it is a possibility. Sorry, I do not want to sound like a negative Nancy and I dont usually do reviews on places very often but I thought people might want to hear our experience that we recieved while there. So in my opinion, if I had to pick buca de bepo or even olive garden over this place then I would have to say yes. Price is competition but the level of food is not. Thanks for reading, hope this helps!!

Went to Trio 2 nights ago, and it was good, but not quite as excellent as I remembered. First of all, the cocktail I had, the Mountain Mule, was delicious! The combo of peach vodka and ginger beer was even tastier than I expected. I ordered rosemary flatbread to start, and here again I was not disappointed. The bread was warm and chewy, and the combo of balsamic, onions, and goat cheese was divine! However, I found my options lacking for entrees. The only vegetarian option was spaghetti al pomodoro ... not something I would ever order out. I got two small plates instead. The mushroom polenta was also very tasty, with cheese and a smokey tomato sauce. Honestly, I would have loved a full-sized one for my entree. I also ordered maple-glazed carrots, which showed up as a plate filled with over 20 heirloom carrots! I liked the idea here, but most of the carrots were so crunchy that I had trouble spearing them with my fork, and some of them even still had some gravel in the tiny tuft of greens left at the top. I would be willing to overlook this and give 5 stars anyway, but my boyfriend was pretty disappointed about his carbonara dish, and my friend said her shrimp Alfredo was "ok." All in all, the food was pretty good, but I expect a little bit better for the money. The ambiance was very nice, and our server was super friendly and helpful! Overall, again, I had a good experience, but the food just needs a few improvements. Oh, and the crème brûlée was FANTASTIC! 10/10 would eat again. Any time, any day.

Wow, this place has gone so far downhill its crazy. Been eating here over 10 years. Suddenly their quality has gone way down, yet they also increased their prices. First their meatballs used to be huge, fresh and flavorful..now they are about 1/4 the size they used to be, have no flavor & the quality of the meat seemed like it was from a frozen/pre-made bag from Costco. On top of that, the baked penne was terrible. It was so much different than the roughly 50 other times Ive had this meal --and all in bad ways. The sauce is supposed to be a garlic cream, but it tasted like they put mustard or something else by mistake and the noodles were overcooked. Its not like it just wasnt amazing (like it used to be), it was actually terrible. The rosemary flatbread was still great. Fortunately, it was the one item that remained unchanged and was exactly as we expected. This used to be one of my favorite places, now I dont know if I even dare to go back again.

Went to celebrate my wifes birthday. Ordered the fettuccine. Got a kids sized portion. 4 shrimp and about 6 ounces of pasta. My 4 year old got more food from the kids menu than I had on my plate. I left hungry and ended up going somewhere else. I mentioned my concern to our server, she said she would let the kitchen know. She did not look happy to receive the feedback. There was zero acknowledgement from the staff about the tiny portion. The impression I got was, if the portion was too small, it was my fault. I shouldnt be that hungry in the first place. This isnt caviar, its pasta. If you cant feed your customers and they leave hungry, it reflects poorly on your kitchen, very poorly! Especially if you want to call yourself an "Italian restaurant". We know the owner personally and have always been treated well when he was around. I hope he reads this and takes some appropriate steps to address this in the future.

For SLC this is the best Indian in the area (technically I think they serve punjabi style, but I am not expert in the regional aspects). There is a second location in Provo, and it is just as good, though a bit smaller in size. The service has always been great. Its a bit more pricey than other indian places that have opened up, but I feel it is worth it. The place can be very busy on weekends, so take that into account. But every time a friend says they want to start trying indian, I send them here. And they are pleased. I have never liked Biryani, but I loved theirs. I am usually more a tandoori chicken, butter chicken and palek paneer fan.

Ive never had a bad experience here before, but tonight was one of the worst meals Ive ever had. The pasta and clams dish was flavorless, under cooked, and the clams tasted as if theyd gone bad. The service was mediocre. I politely told the manager my concerns and his response was only to snidely apologize and snottily tell me that it was one of their most popular dishes. If thats true Id think theyd take a little more care in its preparation. Ive enjoyed this place for years, but definitely wont be returning. There are far better options in this city.

Weve thought the food was outstanding and creative the couple of times weve eaten here. The atmosphere is nice, though a bit noisy at times. Its so close to being a fabulous restaurant, but it just doesnt make the cut quite yet. The bathrooms could use some help, but biggest disappointment was discovering theyd put both of our leftovers in the same box. The gnocchi tasted so much better before it marinated in the meat sauce all night in our fridge. :P
