Went in with high hopes. First, Its crazy loud due to hard surfaces everywhere in a small crowded space (probably exceeds OSHA safety standards). Service is friendly but food is slow. We waited 15-20 minutes for our check. Hard wooden chairs and the noise do not make for a pleasant wait. Menu is limited (no kids menu but they can do simple pastas for them), food was on par with average Italian places you might find on any NYC street (I think a lot of effort is going in to make it homemade but all the pasta we ordered was either undercooked or very overcooked). Sauces were better than average. Wine list is surprisingly poor given they are sold out every night on tables. Basically a few $15 retail bottles sold for $35-40. Also most of the wine was California further limiting the quality you can get at that price point. They have a few beers in bottle. Be wary of an Italian place that uses balsamic vinegar on its caprese salad and has an item called "Tuscan Chili". You are probably not close to an authentic place. The gelato looks good and has a several people walking in to just grab some. Our kids liked it. They have a decent espresso machine, did not try any. Reservations are a must all year (for unknown reasons). Disabled friendly. Parking limited nearby but a short walk behind the state liquor store has plenty (a good place to grab a decent bottle of wine on the way over).

My husband and I stopped by this café on Friday on our way to a Romanic getaway to celebrate our 9th anniversary. –It was wonderful! ☺ The staff was very friendly; the establishment was clean with great vibes and looked like it was taken straight out of Italy. Both of our Panini’s were delicious, but mine in particular was one of the best damn sandwiches I have ever eaten!!! My husband had The Signature "CORTONA" & I had the Adriatico &--WOW! Then to top it off, I took some Gelato to go… My mouth is still watering it was so excellent! (*We ate at three other restaurants on our trip that were entirely too expensive and didn’t taste even close to as good as this one.) Thank you Cortona, we WILL be back again!!! Five Stars from one happy couple.

The best Italian food I ever had. You must get a reservation, but it is worth it. I speculate it is because they plan on how many people they have coming. This is supported by them turning people away even if they have tables open, the pasta is made fresh daily, and if you want the Lasagna you have to call at least a day in advance so "She" can have time to prepare it. I have not tried the lasagna, but I am calling ahead of time and going back. I tried the Veal Marsala and it was the best I ever tasted; I have been to authentic Italian in the east and they do not compare. The meat was perfectly cooked, the pasta homemade, superb Marsala sauce , and supremely balanced flavor across the entire dish. Make time, savor the experience.

This place is fabulous. Its a quaint little Italian restaurant with great food and reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly and accommodating which contributed to an enjoyable experience. I got their bolognese which was phenomenal--just the right amount of kick to it. My wife and I also split their caprese salad which was truly incredible. The mozzarella was easily the best I have ever had. Everything was so fresh and authentic. Equally delicious was their gelato which is a welcome addition to any entree. We will definitely be going back!

Seriously SO good! The bread they brought out: heavenly. Literally the best roll I have ever eaten. Ordered the chicken piccata and potato gnocchi. Both were fabulous! A whole plate of gnocchi is too heavy for me to eat in one sitting, even when made so well and covered in browned butter. Go halvsies on this and another dish with someone else if youre at all like me. :) We also had gelato - definitely a good choice. The strip mall location is surprising, but you forget all about it when you enter the small, yet pleasant restaurant.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, lights are dim, beautiful paintings all over the walls, feels very authentic. The waitress was fantastic and we had a fun conversation, the bathroom is kept very clean and the food was delivered fast for the amount of people in there. It tasted great and was a good size. Only thing I can complain about is the price., but nothing too outrageous. Coming here again.

Unfortunately a poor experience at this restaurant. When my wife and I arrived we were not addressed by any of the staff. It wasnt until we attempted to sit down at the bar that a waitress gave us any attention and it was to say that we needed to come back when we had reservations... to sit at the bar... at this restaurant in a strip mall. The place was snooty but a lot of people seem to like it.

Showed up at 8:40 on a Saturday night (they close at 9:30), a couple up front was eating a salad, so they probably hadnt been there too long, either. We were turned away because they were closing the kitchen. I closed my wallet and went to Shoyu next door, was greeted with open arms and had a wonderful meal.

Food was average at best, and the service was an atrocity. To clarify, the staff were friendly, but it took forever to get anything. It is affordable, which is its only redeeming value. I dont understand what all the hype is about. We will not be going back any time soon.

I was here for dinner last night and, as always, it was beyond superb!!! This is definitely a reservations only and be prepared for a wait. Perfection always takes time!! If you are hungry for Italian that has been made from scratch, this is the place for you!!!!

The best pasta I have had this side of the Atlantic. Homemade pasta cooked perfectly. Flavor in the pesto was great. Whiskey Almond Gelato was the perfect finish to a very memorable meal. Will be back very soon.
