Tonight I called in to place an order on my way home with my sons who were asleep in the backseat. Conveniently Draper has a pull up and pick up option for people that cannot go inside the restaurant. When I called the lady on the phone informed me that I now had to order through the call center which she then placed me on hold to contact. Lady got back on the phone to let me know that the call center does not take orders after nine even though they are open until 11, and that they do not take orders over the phone in the store itself and I would have to come into the restaurant. I informed her that the whole reason I was calling was to take advantage of their pull up services and she said that it was not an option and told me again that I would have to come in. I let her know I would be going somewhere else instead and she hung up. Obviously they are very concerned about their customer service these days and what kind of restaurant has a call center take their orders instead of the store itself? Obviously Café Rio has gotten too big for its britches. Unfortunately the majority of the time I go to Café Rio is later and my on my way home with the kids and I am not taking them inside the restaurant that late. Sadly this may have been my last attempt at actually eating there until they change their policy.

***HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE*** I came in to order a shredded chicken salad around 10:45pm and I was greeted with dirty looks from every corner. I received no greeting and when one of the cooks gave me a prolonged blank stare, I mentioned I wanted to order a salad and he rolled his eyes and walked to the back where he took more than enough time to slide a pair of gloves on and come back to prepare my order. He literally threw a tortilla into the container and angrily said "All we have beans so do you want black or pinto..." without even making eye contact. After I asked for black, he went on to TELL me what my choice of meats were and none of which I wanted. When I asked if they had any rice left, he said "Nope..." again without making eye contact so I said to forget my order and as I was walking out he said "Im very sorry about that..." again rolling his eyes and throwing my partially made order into the trash. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Whether it is 4 hours before closing or 15 minutes, the restaurant closes AT ELEVEN, that is not when the employees are supposed to be off shift. Therefore, there should still be the exact same options available with the same par customer service as if I walked in a half hour after they opened. I will NEVER be visiting this location again.

I ordered a pork salad with no Pico online and house dressing. I ordered it about 30 minutes before you opened. And when I got there my order was not ready. When we got there , there was one person paying and then it was me and my friend. The lady helping said "one moment Ill be right with you " and she got on her cellphone to make a phone call about 10 minutes later she decided to help us. We were on a 30 minute lunch break!!! Customers come before a cell phone call. My friend had a confirmation number. You guys didnt get her order either. Then that order was not ready. The person got on her cellphone again!!! I had no minutes to eat my food. And guess what! There was pico de gallo in my salad Im allergic so guess where my food went? The garbage!!! Very dissapointing. I am out money and when I buy cafe Rio is when I actually wanna spend it. Cuz its so expensive . My friends ordered got messed up she didnt even get what she wanted. Disaster!!! I hope you can make this right!!! Horrible!! And the staff? Did not even greet us she was focused on being on her phone. No hi! No thank you.

Over a month ago I placed an order for 12 meals for a team building meeting at work. Spent close to $120, had a wonderful woman (Catalina, I think) verify that we had the correct quantity of meals, utensils and sauces from our order. When I got back to work I was embarrassed to find three of my employees meals were messed up. One had the incorrect type of beans (despite what the order on the receipt displayed), one with veggies on the side and incorrect meat (despite what the order on the receipt displayed), and the third one that was a completely different meal (beef when she ordered chicken, no rice when she is a diabetic and cant handle all of those carbs). I called the number on the receipt later that same day and the recorded system kept looping me back to the greeting message and wouldnt send me to the actual store to speak to a Manager. After selecting a different option I was directed to an answering service ? Who took a message and emailed that store saying they would be in contact with me. I have yet to receive a call back from them.

Cafe Rio, are you reading these reviews? You should! I used to love Cafe Rio, but weve had several terrible experiences at this Draper location. It is amazing that so many people have had the same experience over the past few months. Last week when we were inside the restaurant, an employee told us that the managers dont care about the customer experience (while we waited in line with our food completed for 20 minutes--the food was cold by the time we paid). We still made a return through online ordering only to have their online ordering system fail and we were told by the curbside pick up representatives that we could come inside, stand in line and have food within 20 minutes (after already waiting for 15). In both circumstances, no apology was offered, nothing was done to make up for their mistake. Im amazed at the terrible customer service.

I havent been to this location in years. In the past, food and service were always great. However, this time horrible. I placed my families order and paid on line. When I arrived to pick it up, they hadnt even started on it. The assistant manager came over to explain that they were out of rice and unless I wanted to wait 45 minutes, NO RICE. Seriously!!! So, I had them prepare our orders without the rice. After a very long wait, I asked about where my order was. It had been sitting on a shelf for who know how long. When I finally made it home, almost an hour later than when I left, the food was semi cold. My salad had huge chunks of lettuce, chicken was extremely dry, no sour cream and no cheese. I had ordered my son a burrito, no pico, no lettuce. Well he got pico and he got lettuce. Definitely wont be going back. Waste of time and money.

I live in Draper and we get Cafe Rio take out quite frequently. We also cater a lot of family gatherings. In the past we always had a good experience but were always missing something (cheese wasnt on the side, etc.) Small annoyances but big to our vegan kids. We just did catering carryout week before last for our grandsons birthday. Everything was PERFECT! Every small special order was handled correctly without requiring changes at pickup. Brian (I hope Im remembering correctly) helped us with the order. He was thoughtful and gracious, and as I said, the food was prepared as ordered. Everybody loved the food and had a great time. Thanks Brian and Cafe Rio Draper. Well be back soon. I hope anyone who left disappointed in the past will try again. (Van Sleen)
