My sister and I traveled to Waco for the Magnolia event. After a day of shopping we opted to have a cocktail before heading back to our hotel. We chose the Backyard Bar and we were more than pleasantly surprised. One drink lead to three and we also stayed for lunch. The bartenders, I believe their names were Gary and Jim were about as perfect as bartenders can be. They made great recommendations, engaged in friendly conversation and offered amazing service, despite being very busy. The food was fantastic. Nothing disappointed, in fact, my sister and I agreed that our time at the Backyard Bar was our favorite part of our short three day trip. I highly recommend!!

Came to check this place out on a Sunday night and for all of the hype its receiving, I know now that its completely overrated. Almost everything one the menu is fried and all entrees are 95% french fries or tater tots and at most 5% (emphasis on at most) of what you actually ordered. Not to mention that every adult portion is around $10 and everything tastes like its straight from the freezer. Mozzarella sticks are rubbery and flavorless, beef tips are dry and flavorless and the fries and tater tots are excessively greasy. Overall a big let down and not a place that I will be visiting again unless I absolutely have to.

Awesome local BBQ place, stop here after during our trip to little league softball tournament and the entire team had a good time. Food was great, and staff was very attentive, perfect with the outdoor playing areas for the kids. Only had one minor issue with some mosquitos inside the restaurant, neither beyond that everything was solid. I had the large shed which was great and my wife ordered the bbq plates with brisket both were very tasty.

bad brisket tacos. nasty chicken fried steak. the mashed potatoes were bland. better food at IHOP.. worst yet no draft beer. bottles were way too expensive.. I wont be back ever..IF YOU DO GO NEAR THIS PLACE AND IT SMELL AWSOME. .. DONT GO IN.. THE FANTASTIC BBQ SMELL COMES FROM THE BBQ SHOP AT THE CORNER.. DONT DO MY MISTAKE AND GO IN HERE.. FOLLOW YOU NOSE TO MAMAS AND PAPAS BBQ AT THE CORNER.. YOU WONT REGRET IT...

This place has a great vibe. Awesome drinks from friendly bartenders. A large yard with games for groups. Patios that overlook the stage. Its a fun place to hang out for the afternoon. My one "complaint" would be the food selection. I realize this is a bar but they seriously have next to nothing vegetarian. No nachos, no potato skins, nothing. I would be happy to give them five stars if they expanded the menu.

The atmosphere is great and family friendly with lots of outdoor games in a giant patio area. We came on a Sunday afternoon so it was pretty quiet. You can bring your favorite pooch too. Apparently, this a big venue for live music with decent acts. The food was really mediocre and I was not impressed. They had a Frosted Flakes battered chicken that was just too sweet. Burgers were okay. Dont think Ill be back.

Looks like a high volume college bar, but it was empty on Sunday. Food was typical deep fried fare, but they had some salads. Order at the counter and they text you when its time to pick up. Food was not all that great for the money, but the beer was reasonably priced. Lots of outdoor space that allows dogs. Beanbag, washers and other games outside. Stage for act, but nothing there on Sunday.

This is the place to be at all times whether young or old. Super trendy and great for the whole family. Outdoor firepits, games, outdoor pool table, huge stage and dance floor, upstairs seating and a limo car/table seating for the party planners.....great food and beer selection.....I never wanted to leave! Great date night or just a girls night out....cant go wrong here.

I always have fun here, and the food is pretty good. The bands they have arent really my style, but the set up of the outside area is fantastic. The employees are also very nice and funny. They do need better security and Ive been manhandled more than once by drunk patrons. Also, the pool sticks for the pool tables are terrible. Other than that, its a fun place.

Very spacious, with plenty of seating & or viewing options, well staffed so we always receive fast & friendly service, the cozy feeling that the furnishings and decor bring to the evening under the stars, always clean and well maintained. Especially the restrooms & for me that is 1 of the MOST important things ! Always GREAT Entertainment !

If you ever wake up and forget where you are go to the backyard, youll remember your in the greatest state in the nation. Southern hospitality, food and music all in the same place! The lone star state small town outdoor/indoor bar and grill earns 5 stars In my book!

Stopped in here after visiting Magnolia. (Just around the corner) The BBQ was the we had while visiting Texas! The brisket tacos (while sounding strange) were AMAZING! Atmosphere was very down to earth and the food made it worth it! Highly recommend!

Great burgers and happy hour beer prices. Wife and daughter enjoyed the chicken sandwich and salad with avocado. Son loved the chicken tenders. Good place to stop by and grab a bite after wandering around the Magnolia Silos.

All food is homemade and delicious, staff is excellent. Definitely recommend the catfish or philly cheese steak! They have a thing called the Backyard Split, Texas BBQ version of a banana split. Make this a destination spot!

Burgers are good but rest of food is comparable to a school cafeteria. Credit cards werent being accepted but they conveniently had an ATM, which added $5.50 to my meal. Mayo is left out unrefrigerated.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is warm, and there are lots of things to do, i.e. pool, corn hole, and washers. Plus there is a dance floor, and a stretch cadi to sit in.
