My friend and I came to this restaurant because he had a craving for the complementary toast and at the time, what I thought included coffee. We sat there having a good time telling stories. When it came time to leave for the night. When on our way out. An employee (what I assume to be the manager) talked to us behind the counter. Now he looked pretty laid back and like he wanted to joking around with us. He ask us, "Now whos got the tab?" Mean while I think this guy is joking. I said "Oh man, guess thats me". He replied, "You guys just sat at the table and didnt order a thing, but have been drinking coffee and tea the whole time." At this point I realize hes no longer joking and is fed up with us for having a great time at what I thought was an great place to start hanging out at... Now dont get me wrong. I would have happily paid for the drinks without anyother thoughts or complaints, but its the way he treated me at this moment is where Im really ticked off. He thought I was just another teenager with no morale guidance. He thought I was the scum of the earth and he was absolutely rude beyond belief! In the end, I did pay for the beverages, But I will not forget the confrontation I had with this man and will not recommend this restaurant to any young person looking to have a good time. To the employee who had judged me so blantantly, I kindly ask of you to please correct yourself. Thank you.

My experience at this location is worth five stars because of the extent they went to to correct my order. Like any place you go to eat away from home, every so often you get your order back incorrect. I try to always make it a habit to check my bag before leaving as a rule of thumb. Before I left I caught a missing pastry from my bag and they replaced it very courteously. Once I reached my apartment though, I noticed a missing soup. As soon as I made the call to ask what my options were in correcting this mistake I was taken care of to the fullest extent by a lovely lady named Andrea. She truly exemplified some of the best customer service Ive ever had and even after making the drive to pick up my forgotten soup she made certain I would keep La Madeleines in my good graces; and I can say I will most certainly go back. P.s. This location has never given me trouble before, but I thought it was noteworthy to mention how seriously they take the customers satisfaction. Not to mention, the food is divine!

We were on the freeway from az and happened to see the row of eateries. We decided to stop by here and so glad we did. The food is magnifiaue! Cafeteria style desserts breads salads and more. For lunch we had Chicken pesto sandwich, chicken and cheese pasta Cesar salad and oh the vegetable procencal soup so yummy! We also had the breakfast eggs and bacon so tasty with a fresh baked croussant! The potato gelletas had too crispy of edges which made it hard to eat but delicious nonetheless. Desserts were delicious and they had bite size desserts too to make it easy to sample. I had the fruit tart and so fresh and tasty. Its rare to find a bakery that does the tart and custard part right but they did! Service was super friendly with the lady behind the counter. Id easily come back again. Even if just for croissants and desserts! Yummmmm

Service was great, food not so much. There was a bit of a line, but staff kept things moving in a courteous and friendly manner. I went with the recommended half chicken sandwich and potato soup. The soup was simple (in a good way), but the sandwich was not what I was expecting-- ultra-dry chopped chicken bits and pieces with a piece of melted cheese to hide the fact that it wasnt even an intact piece of chicken like you might expect on a chicken sandwich. The lettuce and sliced tomato on the sandwich were fresh and crisp, but the microscopic bit of mayo on the bottom bun... the amount you might expect to get if you forgot to dip the knife into the jar between sandwiches... couldnt not overcome the Sahara Desert chicken scraps on the bun. I was hungry, so I managed to peel the cheese loose and choked it down. After that, I gave up.

I must have gotten spoiled in Austin, because when I found out San Antonio had my beloved Le Madeleine, I told my hubby that was where I wanted to go for my birthday. They burned his food, my crepes Romanov were completely rubberized and looked like they had been dropped on the floor...then to top it off they completely over salted my Mother's omelet and it was inedible! We would have talked to the manager but couldn't get any service from anyone. I will just wait to go back to Le Madeliene while I am in Austin. :-(. Bad, bad, bad!

These guys bust it out, even on a super busy lunch hour. I got my food one time while I was still standing in line to pay, after ordering. I get the same thing every time: The Duet, Turkey Bistro, half sandwich with a side of tomato basil soup and small caesar salad. They nail it every time. Consistent, clean, delicious, and great. The staff are always phenomenal, management has personally greeted me and thanked me for my consistent patronage. I strongly recommend this place.

This is my favorite La Madeleine in San Antonio. The food is always consistently fresh and prepared well. The servers are always friendly and concerned about their customers overall satisfaction. The classical music and the restaurant decor provide a unique ambiance that makes you feel like you are truly visiting a cafe in France.Madjid who normally works in the bakery is an exceptional employee, he is friendlyemployee.

Ordered the sampler: tomato soup tastes like the sauce from chef boyardee canned ravioli, ceasar salad was wilted lettuce soaked in oil with a few clumps of cheese, and chicken friand la Madeline was hard/dry pastry pulled from under a heating lamp and served with watered down sauce and a few mushrooms; Ive had better potpies from the freezer aisle.

The chicken salade on a croissant was very tasty, as was the vegetable soup. The fruit salad was served chilled, and it was fresh. The service was very good. The only thing keeping it from getting 5 stars, the tables were wobbly. When wed rest our hands on the table, one side would come up slightly. A minor drawback, overall.

Had the eggs Benedict. It was amazing! Creamy hollandaise sauce on crispy, fresh French bread. It also had bacon which was a nice surprise! I also had a cappuccino which was tasted great and came in a giant mug so it was well worth the price.

Ive never had a bad experience here. The food is delicious, well priced and a warm atmosphere. I suggest this La Madeleine location if you have never had it before. My favorite is their Cesar Salad with a bowl of tomato basil soup.
