The food is good, dont get me wrong the onion rings are especially good, however the kids the hired to run the place are pushy, quick tempered and often just plain rude. I was on hold the last time I placed an order by phone for 15 min. they forgot I was on the phone?!? hello!! When they got back to the phone they just put me back on hold. Then they got snippy, like I was wasting theyre time, just being on the phone. Going in to order isnt much better, unless you happen to be a young college age or teeny bopper, they dont have the time to listen to your sad story about how you want to order a burger, they have better things to do like, flirting with "cuties" that work there or greeting other people they know that they havent seen "in like forever!". If you want great burgers and great service... this aint your place, go to Big Z down the road on NW 1604.

I ate at Longhorn Cafe last evening and was pleasantly surprised! My better half and I live right down the street and finally tried the cafe as it is pretty much what I consider a hole in the wall. We ordered angus burgers with fries and rings and everything was yummy-not too greasy and not too salty. The atmosphere is family friendly. The cafe itself is older and a renovation would do it wonders, but then Im sure theyd have to raise the prices, so well forgo that idea. Not to mention, when we left, the line to order was out the door! I will recommend this dive to my friends (just not for date night) and will take advantage of calling to pick up lunch soon.

Owners/managers really make the experience just wonderful! I have gone to the Longhorn for years and every time I go it just gets better and better! Ive also never been there on a slow day. They are always busy with a huge line out the door. Theyre burgers dont taste like anything else out there!! Paul (the owner) always greats everyone with a smile and makes sure everyone is served only with the best quality. I would recommend this place over any other restaurant in San Antonio. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST BURGERS!!!!! The also have a great variety on their menu including veggie burgers!!! A definite must try if you havent!!!

This place has been around for ages, the food is not too bad. The owners and managers need to clean up the place a bit. The managers smoke pot with the employees outside on property. Very racist as they only have 1 black person which is the manager that works here! Managers have sex with the young cashiers who are barley of age!! Even the DM Thomas smoke pot, no wonder this is allowed! I wouldnt want to bring my family back here, not the kind of place to give my money!

Great food and service. The burger is well worth the wait, and the onion rings are fantastic. My burger took little long to come out and the gentleman that was bussing the tables got concerned that I wasnt eating yet. He went and checked for my I heard them tell them that my order was in next order up. Then he sat there and waited for it to come up so he could bring it to me. Good down-home Southern service.

I love the food here. I eat here whenever I am in San Antonio. The jalapeño poppers are the best. I have had burgers, salads, shakes and it is all good. None of it is over priced and the staff is very polite. The parking can be a bit tricky, so pay attention, and I recommend backing into a parking spot for easier exit. They have a back patio to eat outside, if the weather is nice.

Simply put these are the best burgers in San Antonio! Trust me Ive tried all the highest rated places in the city. Longhorn has the consistency... tasty onions and bacon, the buns are seasoned and always grilled to perfection. Patties are not too much meat, good grill flavor and not undercooked. Just great! Also ate at the one in New Braunfels and it was the same.

The food is delicious. I especially like the bean burger. Why then a two- star review? The place has been dirty and the tables been sticky the last three visits now. I asked for the table to be cleaned, and that only seemed to make it sticker. :( I will return because I like the burgers so much, but I will order to go until this place gets a little cleaner.

Ive been eating at this Longhorn for 20+ years, and its one of my favorite greasy burgers in town. The burgers come with mayo and mustard on them, so let them know if you dont want that. Their onion rings are hand-breaded and HUGE, and a group of us will usually order a small basket of rings and a half & half basket of fries/tots.

My friend told me about this place. I figured, a burger is a burger. So sure, lets go there. It was the best cheeseburger that I have eaten in a long time. Like those old fashion , outdoor hole in the wall places. Brought back memories. I had to take two burgers to go, so my husband could experience it. Will be back.

Wow!! My husband and grandson went here for lunch and what a chicken fried steaks along with veggie, mashed potatoes (real ones) gravy and rolls. They said they never ate so much in their life and they just got the small one. Also brought a cinnamon roll back to the motel for later. Great place to eat

If you want a delicious burger, this is the place. I always get the guacamole burger with provolone cheese and everything on it. My husband gets a double meat with cheese and everything on it. My daughter loves the grilled cheese. We all share onion rings. Love this joint.

This place is a great go to burger lunch spot. They have a few combos that wont break the budget and are still tasty. If your looking for health food Id advise you pass on this place, I could feel my arteries hardening with every delicious bite of my lunch here.

Burgers are tasty, but anything fried we order here always seems to be extra greasy. Party room is handy and affordable for meetings. Ive been coming here for years and the parking area to the side of the building seems to be in a perpetual state of disrepair.

Burgers were ok. They are quick on your service. They slap plenty of mayo on your Burger they drown it. If you care for greasy slider this is your place. Flavor is ok. Not great. Good size burger. It will fill you up. Fries ok. Not tender or moist.

Food is good places is clean but having someone taking orders from the party room n taking orders for the restaurant really doesnt help. Having a line outside the door yes is a good sign people love the food but person taking the orders need to speed up

Love this place! The kids always eat their burgers and we enjoy the sweet potato fries. Staff is always friendly, very kid/family friendly, with TVs playing ESPN and a few arcade games for the kiddos. Cool place and one of my favorites in San Antonio

This is one of SAs most underappreciated places! The chicken sandwich is the best in town! The ambience gives off the true Texas vibe and adds a great deal to the overall experience. Parking is, lets say, rugged but it adds to the charm of the place.
