Went last night with some friends (1/18/14). Let me start with whats "good" -The decor is great! Very chill/casual atmosphere, comfy couches, nice tables, etc. -The hookahs smelled nice (I didnt partake) Now for the "not-so-good" play-by-play: -We were a large group with people trickling in and ended up occupying 2 tables of the 3 tables that were in use that night. There are 3 visible waiters/attendants. It took 20minutes to get a menu, we had to go to the register to ask them for napkins, and the menus (once we got them) turned out not to be accurate representations of the food they had. That, or the waitstaff dont know their own menus. -I wanted to save some money and asked for a water. I got water, in a bottle, at the cost of $1.50. They apparently dont have tap water so I have to wonder what they use for the hookahs. -I understand that theyre "still working on the menu" but if a customer specifically asks for you not prepare the dish with a sauce hes allergic too (tzatziki and tahini) and you bring him a dish with A LOT of the the aforementioned sauces theres going to be a problem. Regarding my friends: their orders were mixed up: waiter/attendant didnt bother explaining which pita was which, the only reason I knew mine was that lamb is slightly darker than chicken. -Food was also SUPER salty which is a dick move when you dont give tap water and youre charging 1.50 for bottled water ($2 for a 12oz soda) -When I asked for my check and explained that we were all separate I was brought the check for our ENTIRE group. Conclusion: -Go for the atmosphere/hookah but not for the food. If you want something, be prepared to get it yourself.

Went on a slow Saturday night- there were 3 other tables when we got there. Hookah and hot tea was delicious, and I ordered a gyro wrap. 30 minutes later I was informed they were out, and they offered me chicken instead. I was disappointed but starving so I said ok. 15 minutes later, they "found" some gyro in the back, and slapped it on a plate with fries, bread and hummus. No salad, or lettuce/tomato on the wrap. I tried talking to the waitress about how dissatisfied I was with the meal- I cant eat bread so really all I had was a few pieces of lamb. She was so rude, did not say sorry once, and kept saying how "its not my fault, I dont know what goes on in the kitchen." I have been in the service industry for 5 years- I understand things happen that are out of her control, but she was so rude to me that it really ruined my experience. That server is the reason I wont be back- food and ambience was good.

Ive only been here twice, but both experiences were very pleasant. The first time was later in the night and there was a good ambiance with music. The second time was early in the evening right when they open, a very quiet time, but relaxing nonetheless. The first time I went there, I had a hookah with Turkish coffee, and it was the absolute BEST Turkish coffee Ive ever had. I complimented the owner (his name is Saeb, I hope Im spelling that right). He sat down at our table and explained his methodical process of making his Turkish coffee. Hes clearly a man that takes pride in his work. The second time I went, I had dinner and a hookah. Theyre very attentive to the hookahs and they last forever. The food was decent, and the prices are reasonable. I got another pot of Turkish coffee, which was just as good as the first, with a side of cookies. I plan on returning.

I have been at Amore Cafe many times. Each and every time the food exceeds my expectations! They truly have the best Chicken Shawarma in San Antonio and in Texas. The hookah is great. Service is good and the place is clean. I would definitely recommend Amore cafe. They also have a belly dancing show every Friday which is very entertaining.I loved it and I am regular there. I crave their food regularly. It is healthy and different

Absolutely the best Lebanese food we have ever had. The chicken shawarma was the best. we visited from Houston and we loved our visit to Amore Café. The service was 5 stars, the food was over 5 stars and the hookah was the best. They had a belly dancer and the atmosphere was perfect. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for excellent Lebanese food. Keep up the great work !!!!!

First time I went there on a date with my boyfriend. First I must say, my boyfriend is a VERY picky southern boy, getting him to try anything is difficult. Oh my gosh he loved it! The hookah we choose was so fruity and minty it went well with our meal. I have never had Mediterranean food before and it was AWESOME! We will definitely be coming back!

The owner & other staff were friendly, great customer service! Ill be visiting (from Houston) again in hopes to purchase a hookah & enjoy the menu. I look forward to enjoying Amore Cafe soon.

Went to Amore Cafe with my friends for dinner. We usually order a few items to share so we can try variety of flavors and must say these guys are doing an awesome job! Truly amazing choice of middle eastern flavors, very good hooka. The place is really cozy, great atmosphere, friendly staff! Will definitely come back!

Gyro meat was so obviously frozen. The slices were not freshly cut. They were from a package, as they were all the same size. Yet, the price was disproportionately high for some reason. They didnt have tabouli or labne when I went. What a disappointment. If you know anything about how meat should be, dont go here.

Our first hookah was not right (waitress tried too and said the flavor was off). The second had too much syrup. It took about a half hour to get that fixed. They have live belly dancers. Food smells good but we didnt order any.

The shwarmas are the best I have found so far, the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the hookah is a good price. Also you can choose to smoke out of a watermelon or cantaloupe or whatever is in season I guess.

The good: The hookah was good, and they serve alcohol. The bad: Servers are inattentive to coals. The chicken is dry, probably a few days old, the prices for liquors are high.
