Just checked this place out recently and its been the first gaming shop Ive found in San Antonio that made me want to swing in more than occasionally. Its got a great, quaint atmosphere and the shop owners/staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming. The cafe items were good, too (iced black coffee and cappuccino were both excellent). Ive been to most of the gaming shops on the west side of San Antonio (Alien Worlds, Dragons Lair, Ooples, Heroes & Fantasy) and, despite how great those shops are, I havent had a desire to go into them and just hang out. But thats not the case with Magic Beans--my first time there, I sat around and played Magic (MTG) for several hours. We did a big multiplayer game, and the shop owner even joined us because we were the only people in the shop. I cant recommend this store enough. If you are on the west side of San Antonio, you should absolutely come in and play here at least once to try it out, Im willing to bet you wont be dissatisfied.

This place is too cool. been coming here a few times a week for the past month or so. Awesome owners, friendly customers too. Definitely a place to try out if youre into tabletop games, Magic, or just want a snack and some coffee!

We come every week. The staff is always friendly. The coffee its great (I highly recommend the Texas pecan). The ice cream is out of this world! This little place is definitely a dimond in the rough.

Been a regular here over a year. Love the atmosphere and congeniality of the owners and patrons alike. Cafe was great before and is scheduled to be reopened this summer. Cant wait!

Owners are very nice and helpful... Had a turkey & muenster sandwich on croissant w/aioli - was quite yum! ...and they carry Bawls energy drink!! Root Beer is my fave!
