My experience with Culebra Cafe was less than I was originally expecting - I intended to get a full lunch there, but due to a misunderstanding at the drive-thru, I ended up only scoring one taco. It was a barbacoa taco - after all, the sign in front gives the barbacoa top billing. The barbacoa was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and they added some only slightly-cooked vegetables, providing some nice and unexpected contrast for the soft pork. I didnt care for how much fat ended up in my taco - it left a puddle in the aluminum foil in which my taco was wrapped. Still tasted good, though. The salsa that they gave me with the meal seemed to consist of nothing but tomatillos and jalapenos, resulting in a salsa that was very thin and needlessly spicy. Roasting the tomatillos would have eliminated much of the water, and thickened the final product.

Horrible mgmt with long wait for mediocre Mexican food. Overweight middle-aged Mexican lady with painted on eyebrows apparently running the show there and failing at customer retention. I waited 15+ minutes in the drive-thru for 3 tacos with only 1 truck in front of me. Lobby was not busy either. I was stuck inbetween 2 vehicles with no way of opting out the drive thru. When I called to speak with the MOD I explained my situation and if she could comp 1 taco for the inconvenience. She agreed. To my dismay when it was finally my turn she totally reneged on what she had agreed on. No one should have to wait that long only to receive lip service from a not so helpful manager

Cannot come here and wait a grand 40 minutes to receive my food when only 2 people and I order. The dining room is so compact it cant seat 4 groups, the atmosphere is horrible and the customer service is beyond horrendous. Save your money and go to a real Mexican restaurant that will serve you great food, has a full staff at all times and doesnt take a lifetime to get your food out to you.

Ive "ALWAYS" enjoyed my & familys meals here. The folks are outstanding in customer service, aside from their excellent food. I wouldnt "ever" wait in line for an hour, .. for anyone! Restaurants do get busy when theres lots of customers. Go inside, chill! Im certain the experience would be more gratifying/ satisfying. I love little restaurants. This one stands alone! Con mucho carino!

Worst barbacoa ever, it was beyond greasy its like they poured a liter of oil on it. They also gave no cilantro, no onions, no lemons, no salsas, no napkins, no nothing. For the 12 dollars that I paid, I could have paid 9 dollars somewhere else with great barbacoa, and the whole works mentioned above... Never going back again!
