My wife and I along with our two boys were ready to eat some good food and knew we were rolling the dice at the lake. The previous experiences with area restaurants had us hoping just to get something decent in the area that we could stomach. WELL LET ME TELL YOU WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! This place is a TRUE HIDDEN GEM! We absolutely agreed it was the best Italian food we have enjoyed and even beats Napa Flats in San Antonio! I will also tell you that the service was the best I have had in a very long time. I tipped 30% because the experience was absolutely out of this world! The caprese salad, awesome, the scallops were big and juicy, and so were the shrimp. We had a great experience and the PORTIONS WERE HUGE! You wont leave this place hungry and this is no pathetic attempt at Italian like Olive Garden, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL ITALIAN FOOD! Eat here so it stays around and I can keep enjoying the food, TRUST ME THERE IS NO OTHER FOOD LIKE THIS FOR AT LEAST 40 MILES.

Meat had good consistency, soup of the day was fairly good and very filling. I had the Baked Ziti lunch special - a bit thick with cheese but still well-balanced. My brother had Spaghetti and meatballs - which had a delightful and original flavor but was under seasoned. The pink lemonade was a bit watered down but the refills were free. Our server was very nice and helpful in ordering and checked on our meal periodically, though I went without lemonade for several minutes. The environment is dated but very well kept. The music kept cutting in and out, taking away from the character of the decor. Overall: Food 6/10 Service 6.5/10 Prices vs food & service: 8/10 Atmosphere: 6.5/10

Very good food. Canyon lake is fairly devoid of good places to eat. The one bright spot is Italian Garden. The place is very clean, well decorated and has a nice atmosphere. We have never ordered something we did not like. The locals complain that the prices are high, but the prices seem reasonable. The one exception is that on holidays, they jack up the prices. We learned this the hard way and now avoid this place on holidays. The waitresses all seem nice but we have noticed that there is a lot of turn over. We seldom see a waitress last more than a month. I give it full stars for food, and 4 star for price

Called in a " to go" order, after being hung up on the first time we ordered baked lasagna and sub, was informed online menu was wrong and lasagna no longer came with salad so we ordered one also. Bill came to 24.31 was also incomes during pickup online prices were no longer correct....sub was 7.50 (same as online), lasagna was 10.95 (9.95 online) so salad was 4.00 which was lettuce, onion and tomato. Even complain to manager with no avail...credit where credit due, food was good ( only reason it even got one star) but NOT worth money

Pizza is good for take out which is why I gave two stars. The waitress described this evenings dinner as an awesome crab and generous sized shrimp on top of chicken with some asparagus. She did a much better job of selling it than the cooks did preparing it. What I received though was some chicken covered with cheese and three pieces of asparagus and some twice cooked tiny salad shrimp that was fishy. This was a special and not on the regular menu so perhaps it was a failed experiment but the waitress oversold it completely.

Despite it being loud, the service was great. The food tasted surprisingly phenomenal! "Food" being the main entree. The olive oil they give you with the bread needed more seasoning. We had the chicken and shrimp house special, and we highly recommend it! Everything was clean, too, though I didnt visit the restroom. The owner even came by and checked on us. If you want good Italian food at very reasonable prices, and dont need a quiet place to eat, this is the restaurant for you!

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here yesterday evening. I had the Tour of Italy with a little sampling of several dishes and the chef nailed it! My husband had the Chicken Florentine which melted in his mouth! Our server was Nicole and she was fantastic always on top of things without being annoying. All and all a lovely romantic dinner in a reasonable priced restaurant with lovely ambiance and small town appeal!

Terrible experience in Italian food! The Margherita pizza and the Calzone was so overcooked and tough neither could be eaten. The quality of the food was good the first two times we ate here. This experience was awful. Perhaps a new Cook? A very disappointing experience. I guess we will do ourselves a favor and drive to the South side of Canyon Lake to the Italian restaurant over there.

Omg! We went in early afternoon. The specials are post on a large chalk board as you walk in. And the lunh prices are wonderful. I thought for the pricees listed we were going to get small portions, not tha case at all. We had very large portions. We had togo boxers. If you on the northbside definetly stop and eat.if the sampler plate is avalible its huge and priced right. Love Love Love place

We always love this place..food and service are never disappointing. BUT today Im still waiting for my salad when I should be eating my meal. I understand that there are only two waitresses and according to this site..they arent usually busy at this time...they are packed. So my question is WHERE IS MANAGEMENT? The wait staff obviously has no support from those in charge. Sad.

Overall great experience. The Chicken Florentine is a must have. Unfortunately the Tilapia and Shrimp combo was a flop. The tilapia was not seasoned and the pasta that came on the side was too tart from the wine sauce and lemon sauce they used. Will visit in the future but was unhappy when the waitress didnt even choose to replace the pasta I barely touched. Hangry LLC out.

4 of us went for lunch on a Friday and we were blown away, everyone raved about the food. So good, large portions and the home baked rolls just kept coming, she even wrapped up one for each of us to have with our take home extra. I had the best baked ziti I have ever had. Ordered a cheese pizza to take back to Rio Guadalupe resort. That was also delicious. Will return!

I moved here from New England, where every town has its "House of Pizza". I sorely missed that and thought my only option for edible pizza was Pizza Hut or DiGiornos! Well, The Italian Garden has wonderful pizza. I like to order a large and have leftovers all week. Their pasta and sandwiches are great, but I have a hard time not going for the pizza every time.
