If you blindfolded me and sat me down to eat at this Bill Millers re-entry into the seafood restaurant market, I would not be able to tell it apart from the former Barnacle Bills. And it seems to me to be a little more spartan version (in decor) of Sea Island. The lunch specials are good and plenty with a crunchy fried cod and medium battered shrimp, very similar to S.I. and maybe just a little cheaper. I detected an iodine flavor in the shrimp which is a good thing indicating it is from the Texas coast. Side dishes included cream corn, cole slaw, french fries, borracho beans, mac -n cheese and green beans. The cole slaw was decent with a hint of jalapeno pepper. The borracho beans were also spiced but had the flavor of black eyed peas rather than pinto beans. The mac n cheese was good albeit just a little dry. Some folks like theirs on the dry side.. I happen to like mine gooey with runny cheese. As before, you also receive one slightly overdone round corn bread hush puppy and some not so bad garlic bread (which reminded me of the Texas Toast from Barnacle Bills). The tartar sauce is where the meal falls down. That can make or break a fried seafood meal for me. Unlike the very tasty tartar from Sea Island or even Lubys (the two best tartar sauces in town in my opinion), L.M.s sauce is on the sour side. Definitely not a favorite. Otherwise, the food was good, the restaurant was clean, the service fast and friendly. The only other downfall for me was difficulty in getting there when coming from east Ih10. Lots of traffic, lights and turns to navigate to get to the small but burgeoning fast food row on the west side of the highway.

UPDATE: Well, being the original Seafood Lover , I did go back, even after a terrible experience with mushy, tasteless, GROSS drive-through stuff. This time, however, I went inside and had some of the best oysters Ive had in quite a while.....good enough that Ive changed my review from one star to FIVE. Oh, I do love fried oysters, and they do really well here. Give it a shot if you like "Elephant Boogers," as my kids have called oysters for lots of years to lots of laughs. (Yeah, were a little gross, but youd like us if you like real people!)

I have had fish tacos at many different places from Texas to California and i have yet to find any better then the fish tacos at Laguna Madre On Ih10. They were absolutely delicious! Staff was super friendly and attentive and went out of their way to make my experience at this establishment outstanding. Shrimp cocktail and chocolate chip cookie made my dining experience complete and I left very happy and satisfied.

A little pricey ,paid 12.00 for 6 shrimp and 4 fried oysters,coslaw fries and Galic bread come with meal but have to pay extra for tea,unless you get one of there combos my oysters were not cooked all the way even the batter had to send them back to get cooked all the way then they brought to my table and said here are your extra crispy oysters I replied you mean cooked will not go back sea island way better

My experience at Laguna Madre is one Ill never forget. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, and the managers seemed to be very concerned with customer service. I tried the grilled salmon plate, and it was well worth the wait. Now that Ive eaten here Ill never go back to Sea Island, Ill absolutely be telling all my friends about this place!!

Fish taco and shipping spicy tacos were pretty good. The tortillas were not very good. Very tough. The fries were good and the coleslaw was ok. Paid more than Id have preferred for the quality of the food but Ill give it another go before I wrote it completely off.

Ive only been to this location once and didnt get very adventurous. I had the fried fish and fried shrimp with french fries and coleslaw - now that I think about that, YIKES! Any way, no complaints at all. Good value, FRIENDLY staff and quick service.

The grilled fish tacos were good, the Avocado Shrimp Salad was a little confusing, the shrimp was drowning in a white Tartar sauce. The staff was very helpful and made another salad with just boiled shrimp.

Great, refreshing tea. A very good jalapeno cream cheese crab appetizer. Cod was just ok. Fried shrimp were tasty. Not amazing, but if youre hankering for FRY, by all means go!

Loved the coleslaw.. better than Bill Millers, their "sister" restaurant. Loved the fried cod... Oysters were chewy. Will not order those again. Onion rings were good.

Great fast food type place for sea food. Got some good selections to choose from and prices are pretty good. I recommend the lemon peppered fish plate (2 piece)

My grilled codbhad no flavor, the rice was gross and the tea was nasty..my son had the 3 pc chicken tenders and they were very good..
