The staff is excellent! Very quick and super attentive but not in an annoying I have food in my mouth attentive. Very warm and inviting. They show they care about the guests. The food is exquisite! I started out with the charcuterie board and its a great little sampling of wonderful bites. By far my favorite of the board was the duck rillete! Enjoyed the duck confit as my main dish. Perfectly cooked with an excellent crispy skin. My husband started with the wedge salad. He loved the large chunks of bleu cheese. He couldnt get enough of the beef wellington. On point medium rare through out. The only thing he didnt like about it is it wasnt traditionally wrapped in the puff pastry. That was served on the side as little triangles. Ended the evening with a scrumptious creme brulee! Overall am more than excited to have another chance to visit hopefully soon. Its such a treasure!

My husband and I were celebrating our 7th anniversary and asked our hotel where to go and Nicolas at the Mokara Hotel and Spa recommended the Fig Tree, and he was right! This restaurant was a romantic atmosphere, great service, beautiful access to the Riverwalk, and the food was amazing! Our server Lisa was checking our needs on a regular basis, as well as accommodating my request for a cocktail that was not even on the menu. I ordered a stake and it was cooked the way I asked perfectly. I had creamed potatoes and steamed asparagus for the side dish, I honestly dont normally like asparagus but it was so good I ate every bit! The baked Alaska we had for dessert was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it! All in all this was one of the best restaurant experiences of my life and next time we are in San Antonio we will definitely be returning to the Fig Tree.

This was one of the worst meals I have had in some time. The steaks are expensive $40 for the Rib eye. It was so fatty I had to cut 1/3 of the steak away to not eat fat and grizzle. I complained to the manager and his response was "well, the rib eye is the fattiest cut". His response should have been almost anything but that. The other food was mediocre at best. The Lobster bisque should be called the paprika bisque because that is all you taste. The roasted mushrooms were so over seasoned I couldnt finish them. Overall: Over priced Long Horn steaks, and a chef who doesnt know when to stop using the seasoning shakers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Especially when there are such good restaurants on the riverwalk.

The atmosphere and charm are there, but the food is something that lacks in form and function. Dishes arrived at room temperature and not hot at all. Service was good, but not great for the inflated price. Biga on the banks might be a better choice for the money. My family and i all agree that the money spent did not equate to the multiple reviews that say this establishment is as good as it claims. For this i leave you with this tip. Whats in pictures and reviews dont necessarily portray what is real to a great dining experience. There are truly great restaurants in San Antonio and this my friends is not one of them. Overpriced charm is not what i want.

We were in town for the Final Four and enjoyed one of the most delightful dinners of our lives at The Fig Tree Restaurant. The setting is lovely, the staff extremely friendly and attentive and a superior meal. The reviews were somewhat mixed and we were concerned but as soon as we walked in the door, the staff could not have been more accommodating. We would have loved the evening if the food had just been mediocre but it was far from that. Weve travelled all over the country and this was one of the best meals weve ever experienced and no more expensive than comparable restaurants in other cities.

Reserved for New Years eve several months in advance. I actually called BEFORE reservations even opened. The day of the event I found out my party had been split in TWO TABLES! this was unacceptable and nobody had told us. If we had know we would have made reservations elsewhere... There was a french woman that was rude and uncaring... shame on her and on the restaurant. Servers were trying their best, but had no help from management. The food was fine, but after being treated like second rate patrons, we were bitter and just wanted to get out.

Had a wonderful experience! Arrived just after open to see about moving reservation inside (it was still 100 outside). Not only did we get to move inside, but were able to go ahead and sit immediately! I guess early bird does indeed get the worm. For starters, the Escargot was amazing. I ordered the Filet Mignon cooked medium for entreé and it was cooked exactly medium! The flavor was great and the accompanying bearnaise sauce actually enhanced my delight. The waiter, Alex, did a great job as well. Attentive but not aggressive.

Go next door to Little Rhein instead. I think its the same owners, but thats OK... I was turned away from Fig Tree. Little Rhein has an identical menu. Exactly. Skip the tie and go to a more friendly establishment... A twenty minute wait for a table inside at Fig Tree--with all tables open outside...I said I can sit outside and the wait turned into an hour. I can only assess that it was because I was dining alone... and it was not worth their effort. Thanks. Definitely coming back...

Great service with a smile. Waiter was very helpful . Made a great recommendation with the 3 course and drink selection. I definitely will be coming back for another night out. I recommend making dinner reservations for a table to avoid a wait when you arrive. Quality service often times draws a crowd. Come with a reservation and enjoy the...

It was the little things here that made a huge difference. From the salmon tapas at the beginning of the meal to the Chicago truffles they gave us to celebrate our anniversary at the end. I also must comment on the food presentation. It was delightful! We had the duck and it was very well prepared. Lastly the service was wonderful.

Excellent restaurant! Best escargot and crab cake appetizer we have had. The Beef Wellington was open face and delicious. Banana Fosters topped off the meal. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Be prepared for a tasting experience. The chef should come out and take a bow. Service from Julio was fantastic. Great romantic spot for outdoor dining.
