Everything I had was delicious. Ordered the small tortilla soup thinking 5.99 was a little pricy for a small soup but was surprised by the platter with a large bowl and all the fixings including slices of avocado which was fresh, like everything else there. Three sauces come with your chips, all chile based. Be careful with the green one...its creamy and cool but sneaky spicy! Also comes with a stewed sauce similar to a ranchero but tastes more stewed with sofrito flavors in it. Friends elderly dad got the picadillo plate which came tortillas separate and was a good option for those that find it difficult to chew bc it was finely ground meat with small potatoes and the normal cheese, rice and beans. Probably the best cheese enchilada Ive had which is weird bc its something so simple but it had great cheese, they didnt drown it in red sauce and it was just really tasty. Definitely will go back again before I leave san antonio.

Recommended by a local, I enjoyed this thoroughly. They provide three salsas with food when you take your seat and all were great, especially the salsa Verde (for to live up to the name, right?}. I got two pastor tacos and a chicken fajita and couldve /shouldve ordered just two cuz they were easily twice as big as most restaurants. Just meat, nothing else at all in there but they were super tasty. Not really a "five star restaurant" of course but it was clean, affordable, delicious and decent service-couldnt ask for much more from a local TX Mex spot.

I work around this area and its usually hard to find a good meal without driving too far. Chile Verde was a very pleasant surprise. The restaurant is really clean which isnt the case to some restaurants in the area. The food is delicious I was very surprised how delicious it was. The staff was very nice and friendly. The price was a little higher from other restaurants but for the cleanliness and the great tasting food im willing to pay extra. The sweet tea was amazing as well. My co-workers and myself will be revisiting Chile Verde from now on!

I eat here once a week every week and it is consistently amazing. The taco salad with their shredded chicken is healthy and delicious, flautas, enchiladas, quesadillas - everything is awesome. Ive never had a bad experience here. Its not your typical Mexican restaurant; they take their recipes and flavors to the next level, and I compare every other Mexican restaurant to Chile Verde. Friendly staff as well.

I went there a few weeks ago while I was in town with family and to my surprise it wasnt your typical whole in the wall it was very nice and CLEAN the food is SUPER delicious my server Alexis was great she made sure we tried her pina coladas. it was was so good we had to get another round . my family is planning my sisters birthday we are definitely going to Chile Verde !

They have renovated the place since my last visit. Not only the decor, but have expanded. There is a whole new section and, what looks to be, a full bar (Im here for breakfast). Beautiful decor and the food as good as I remember. Looking forward to my next visit to San Antonio and coming back to Chile Verdes.

Thanks to the reviews, we tried Chile Verde last night. The frozen margaritas were delicious and the food was fantastic. I had the enchiladas verde and my husband had some special enchiladas with bell peppers on them. Small and very clean. We will be back again!

Such good food but the selling point for me is their green and red hot sauce. Ive literally gotten tacos from somewhere else and then made a trip to Chile Verde for the sauce, its that good in my opinion.
