Wow. I dont normally give 1 star reviews, but today, I had little choice. They are running a pick a pair special this weekend for Fathers Day. Your choice of prime rib, ribeye steak, tenderloin steak or chicken and then you can choose lobster tail, fried shrimp, shrimp scampi or fried catfish. Comes with potato, green beans, soup or salad and cheesecake for 19.99. Of course, I went for the prime rib and lobster tail. Service was friendly and the food came quickly. We were there early and there was only two other tables that were taken. The food arrived and it was a mixed bag. My wife had the ribeye, but it was not a traditional ribeye cut. She ordered it medium-rare and it was cooked more than medium (No pink at all). However, the steak was surprisingly tender. Her pairing was the fried shrimp and she enjoyed those. The green beans were canned and bland. Mashed potatoes with brown gravy were very good. Lobster tail was tasty, if not slightly overdone. Then came my prime rib. All I can say is Dont ever order this!!!! You know how prime rib comes out all pink, red and juicy? Yeah, did not get that here. The color was grey, through and through. Then I braved a taste, i wish I had not done that! It was FREEZER BURNED! Very clearly, this piece of meat had originally been cooked long ago, was leftovers then and re-frozen. Today, it was reheated just for me! I couldnt eat it. It was truly the nastiest flavor I think I have ever had. Waitress did not notice or did not care that I had not eaten the prime rib nor was I taking it home. Then the bill came. Prior reviewers have noted mysterious charges or tips being built in. We did not see this, but they did charge for water (Not bottled). I have been to Baldys for breakfast before, albeit a couple of years ago, but it was decent then. I was hoping to love this dinner, but sadly, I did not. Will not be trying this again. P.S. got the cheesecake to go. I havent tried it yet, but there is only a couple of bites here. See photo.

My friend does not have a google account so I promised I would leave this review. I do agree with everything that happened. #1 Cannot handle groups more than 6! Had about 15 people there for a birthday party. Even though 2 waiters would help out they got orders wrong. Steaks came out horrible. (Couldnt even eat it) I tried to tell the manager secretly. Was NOT looking for a free meal or seen) just wanted her to know that it was rubbery. She started yelling at me! Yes, yelling!! All in front of my family and customers. #2 Reason ...orders came out in 2s. They would serve half the oders then would start making the 2nd half. By the then the others were done eating! Rude and disrespectful. Could care less about making us happy. This was a diverse group. Birthday girl was turning 90. Sad, so sad. Wont eat there again!

Went Monday for lunch. Sign out front said on one of the specials, "all you can eat soup & salad." So I ask for a second salad and waitress said it was not free. Finally after a few go rounds, the owner came by and scolded myself and partner for expecting a free salad. I pointed out the sign said all you can eat. The owner, a crass bitter old woman, sternly recanted by saying it was the waitress fault for writing incorrectly. By this time I just forget it, its not worth it. We are working in the area, and had been going there everyday for lunch. The service was sub part at best. The wait staff, with the exception of one young lady, Trishcia,, was severely rude, inattentive and not all that bright. The food is mediocre at best. What they do have in their favor areally the prices.

The staff was great although we did come in when it was dead so obviously very prompt all around service and hot plates. Both had burgers with everything on it, so not the best burgers weve had but they were vary good. Just took a sip of the milkshake and REALLY upset with how milky it came out pretty much water taste to it. Funny outcome when paying and they did offer to make another one and off my check, but Im now too full.

First things first. There "Help Wanted" sign needs to be bigger cause they NEED all and any HELP they can get. Hands down the worst establishment ive ever had the displeasure of waisting my time. The Fathers Day Steaks were shoe rubber. I will never ever bring anyone to bare this place of a restaurant as long as i am able to make good sound judgments.

We have eaten breakfast here and dinner a few times. Breakfast is always a winner but this evenings dinner was even better. I had the steak salad and it was tastey and fresh. My husband had the special which was a combo plate of cat fish and hamburger steak with salad, and 2 veggies. He was very impressed with his food as well.

Had the Big Bird sandwich and it was great! Asked our waitress about the Big Bird and she stated her boyfriend loved it and it was Big that her boyfriend couldnt finish it. So My spouse and I split it. The chicken was tender & juicy, crust was just right... crunchy & flaky. I promise it wont dissapoint.

Food was decent. Had the prime rib Monday special which would have been better if it was fresher. Seemed to be leftovers from the weekend prime rib. Strawberry shortcake was good. Chicken fried steak was average but a little soggy. Prices were very reasonable and portions were just right.

Have been to La Vernia and Adkins Baldys. Prices are reasonable, clean, simple menu.. La Vernia - burger patty rather small compared to the buns (and for that matter everyone elses in the state) but the price was good,,, staff seemed snippy towards, confused at and not trusting of each other.

I didnt like it when I walk back in 3 weeks after of my last visit and the waitress tells me that I didnt ask for my food the way I did last time I was in. She is not the one that served me so how would she know for one. It made my girlfriend not want to eat there.

Love it, customer service is great. Had the special Pot roast, homemade mash potatoes with green beans and a fresh salad on the side. Food tastes like moms cooking and its my first time here.

Service was excellent, most of our food was great! However Id advice not to have the steak. It was not cooked evenly, and was tough to eat. Other than that, great family place to eat!

The Fresh veggie omelette is perfect. Staff is very friendly and the cooks are ALWAYS on their game. I appreciate the consistency. Big portions too. Thanks baldys crew.

This is a great little American Diner. I eat here about once a week for lunch with coworkers. The food is delicious and the prices are extremely reasonable.
