We went for lunch recently, and it was actually fairly good. The prices are quite low and the quantity of food is quite high. The wife ordered the sesame chicken, which was crisp and delicious just by itself even without the sauce. The included fried rice was very flavorful and lacked the burned flavor alot of fried rices in SA unfortunately have. The egg roll was the weakest thing about the meal and we didnt particularly care for it. The potstickers, on the other hand, we far better although the sauce was oddly cold, not room temperature or warmer. As for myself, I had two entrees on my lunch plate: curry chicken and pad thai. The curry chicken was a yellow curry that hit nearly all of the right spice notes but lacked heat from any chilis. The pad thai was neither the worst nor the best Ive had. I thought it could use more tamarind as acid from some lime. In short, for the price, quantity, and quality of food, Asia Kitchen is a great place to go if youre in the area. If you want the best Thai possible and dont mind traveling around San Antonio, I recommend trying Bangkok 54, Thai Dee, or Siam Cuisine. For Chinese, Sichuan Cuisine and Hsiu Yu are hard to beat.

Dinner for four on a Saturday. Attentive and joyful hostess and server. Hot tea was hot (without having to ask that the water be hot). Spring rolls appeared a tad over golden brown but were visually pleasing and oh so very flavorful. The chicken rice noodle soup was flavorful, served temperature hot, and mildly spicy hot. The pepper steak was flavorful; and the beef was abundant and tender. Nice chunks of bell pepper and onion. The dark sauce was a thin sauce, not greasy. The num prig pao with chicken and extra veggies was a little less flavorful - likely due to the added moisture from the extra veggies. I asked for extra veggies, which were tender and not soggy. The many pieces of chicken were tender and the mild chili garlic sauce was also thin, not greasy. I love thin sauces. Delicious and comfortable experience at a very reasonable price. Will definitely dine here again.

I have been coming to Asia Kitchen since they opened as a market with only a couple of tables, and I have never found a better Thai restaurant in San Antonio (or anywhere). Their lunch menu has a number of dishes that are excellent and fast: pad Thai, yellow chicken curry, sesame chicken, and shrimp pad Woonsen are especially good. Cheese rolls are an excellent appetizer and addictive. I have never been served a bad meal here. Service is as fast as it can get considering they are in the weeds every day from about 11:00 until 2:00. Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland is very close by, and Asia Kitchen is a popular lunch destination. Be prepared to wait for a table, and be patient with your server (who will likely be very busy). I have no doubt youll be extremely pleased with your visit by meals end.

I went for lunch 2 wks ago, and was disappointed; at lunch its more Chinese lunch specials than anything else; I ordered Kung Pao beef and couldnt even ask for it extra spicy (The waitress honestly says "We prepare it all in 1 big batch at lunch" which is definitely "mild" on the spice scale); on the plus side, the spring rolls were excellent; Im a longtime customer, and can tell you Asia Kitchen is capable of fabulous, HOT and spicy Thai food (the Thai curries, soups and salads are top notch); in the future, Ill order to go @lunchtime and order off the dinner menu, or visit @dinner time. If you visit at lunchtime however, its just another adequate, mostly Chinese place. One thought: Why are there no salt and pepper shakers on the tables? Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Some of the food was fine but the chicken salad was not even edible as it was overly drenched in vinegar. The staff was attentive and nice. WARNING!: They do add in tips to your ticket. Some people may be used to this type of business transaction but I am not. Definition of gratuity: a GIFT or REWARD usually of money. I dont like being forced to give what is suppose to be a gratuity regardless of the service I receive. Tips are subjective not entitlement and how much is given is based on the perspective of the customer. I cant stress this enough. I will not knowingly eat an establishment that forces tips on your ticket. If I know ahead of time, I wont eat there because theres too many other places in San Antonio that dont do this. Peace and love to all!

waitress gave me two empty plates while the other servers were giving everyone else food, after 30min of waiting the server never returned after an hour I went to the front counter and told the manager and all she had to say was she was sorry.....not to mention I had my two children with me....I would highly recommended something be done about this as for me I will never return to that place, and I find it even more disgraceful having to see a sign giving thanks to Veterans but yet giving one the worst experience ever.

Wish i could say, i waited for a table not very long but i sat at my table 15 minutes before being served a drink then another 20 minutes later still no food....people who were seated after me were served before i was and they had more people at their table. After i saw my slow waitress serving another person who was seated after me i got up and left. Spent my whole lunch break waiting and returned to work hungry. Wouldnt recommend eating lunch their unless you have a few hours to spare.

I used to go there when I was in the USAf. I remember it as this small little restaurant with card tables but excellent food. Theyve spoiled all other Thai restaurants for me. Everything Ive ever had there was amazing. I even had my own "hot". I remember taking friends there and one ordered hot and the waitress asked Do you want mild medium hot or Mike hot!" I miss that place and whenever Im back in San Antonio I need to go there to get real Thai food!

This place has the best Thai fried rice I have eaten in America (I lived in Thailand for a few months). And the pineapple fried rice is addictive, and everything else I have eaten has been great. The portions are huge and feed me for days. The Thai ice coffee is damn good, too. Their lunch specials are cheap and have a ton of good food, however, at lunch they serve the typical Americanized "Chinese" fried rice.

Best Thai food in town! I have grown up going here and honestly, no place can compare. This mom & pop restaurant hasnt changed at all, which I love and appreciate so much! Very affordable for the large quantities of food. Their Tom Kai soup is my favorite, along with some Spring Rolls, Beef or veg Fried Rice, Pad See Ew, etc.! Make sure to try their homemade chili oil and hot sauces, also must haves.

The food here wasnt bad but Idk what the guy who lived in Thailand was saying this isnt the best Thai restaurant in SA! Being that Ive lived here 5 years. Thai Bistro & Sushi is the best hands down. Excellent service and quality meanwhile the service here was mediocre women on the phone were either Hispanic or Caucasian not fully understanding of what I wanted or the menu.
