My wife and I generally go at least once a week. Friendly atmosphere, good food, great drink prices. Excellent overall. Edit: With the new management we not only do not go once a week, but have decided not to go at all anymore. First, their prices have gone up over the past months...Im ok with that. Second, they changed out a large portion of their staff and they are unreliable at best. I would say that half the time we went there we received the wrong order over the past months (The Bartenders are exceptions, theyve never messed up an order and are very polite). Cherry on top, the hostess (middle age lady) is undeniably rude, incompetent and arrogant. We arrived on a busy time on a Friday so we knew there would be a wait. We get in and the hostess isnt even at the front for the first 10 minutes. We knew who she was already and saw her laughing in the back with a waiter. She finally comes back to take our names and wouldnt even look at us (were standing right in front of her station). We wait patiently for her to notice us as she scribbles on her notebook in the front. Finally, people behind us have had enough and literally walk in front of us to reprimand the hostess for not taking peoples names. She then blames us for not getting her attention...every other restaurant Ive ever been in sees you standing in front of the hostess station and pretty much understands what their supposed to do. Anyways, she finally takes our names and says it will be a thirty minute wait. We go outside and sit on a bench for 40 minutes before coming back in to check in on what the hold up is. Once again, shes not in the front and we wait another 10 minutes while she is laughing and joking with the same waiter in the back. She comes back over and before we even have a chance to ask her about our wait she grabs another group and heads back to the back again. We wait another 10 minutes as she is laughing in the back again (This makes an hour wait), before we finally corner her at her station. She then says she accidentally crossed out our names and that well be seated in about another 20 minutes. I was absolutely astounded! She doesnt apologize, but gives a BS excuse of them being busy and that "these things happen". Wow! At that point weve had enough and decided they obviously dont care enough about getting customers to have a hostess who gives a damn. I dont think theyll care all that much that they lost one set of routine customers, but hopefully theyll care enough to change their practices as they lose more and more business. We were not the only ones who left that night and two more groups reprimanded her about their own situations.

Always a great place for dinner! Excellent food, atmosphere and service! Genuine hospitality from the staff and management. As a manager with over 18 years of food service/hospitality experience, I highly recommend you visit Dos Chavos! Check them out on the weekend ! Best weekend breakfast/brunch menu around Rowlett and surrounding areas! Prices you cannot beat as well! Family friendly restaurant and staff! You want an authentic Mexican Dinner, try their entrees such as: "Gorditas" or the "Tacos al pastor." For an All American breakfast option, try "La Americana" and start with the pancakes or try their Mexican Breakfast entree "Chilaquiles Rojos". I am already dreaming of brunch there! Its 7 am right now! See you soon guys!

If you are in a hurry, then this place is not where you want to go. The food is good, however service is terrible! They do not have enough food staff to run this restaurant efficiently. When we arrived, we were not greeted and ended up seating ourselves at the bar. It took another 10 minutes before we were given menus or asked what we would like to drink. We were there almost an hour and half and most of it was waiting to get our food. It will be a very long time before we go back.

The waitress was friendly and accommodating. The food was presented well. Unfortunately that was all that we liked. The salsa was more like a spicy pizza sauce, the queso was fairly flavorless, the chili con carne tasted like it was canned and the sour cream sauce was like paste. We were looking for some good TexMex and unfortunately we didnt find it here. The bar seemed to be hopping so maybe that is why it was packed. We wont be back.

The service was horrible. We were sat and it took oir server 15 minutes to even take our drink orders and my husband kept having to go to the bar to get his beer refilled. Had to wait another 15 min. To get our order taken. We hardly saw our server and it was very frustrating. The food was good but service was bad!!

Weve been coming ever since it was a little place only and before they opened up with the store next door! We love this place. Gets very busy on Saturday but delicious food and friendly service. Sometimes slow at times but the owner is also very kind and accommodating. My aunts love their margaritas!

Service is good. Food is ok. Exactly what you would expect for a tex mex restaurant for the area. Drinks leave a lot to be desired. One will taste more mix then anything. I had the Margarita, mojito, and dirty martini. No buzz. No alcohol. Use caution. They might be taking your money.

I never been to Rowlett! But i was told about dos chavos restaurant wow food was great! Home made drinks i can say they where the best! I will recommend to any one in Rowlett and near by places. Wow im surprised by food, great atmosphere and the owners are really nice and attentive.

We dont come here often but when we do we get nothing less than perfect food and service! Everyone from the waiter Erik to the young lady that sat us were awesome! Erik consistently checked on us and made sure we were ok. If you have never been here you must try it.

We have been eating here for years. Watching it evolve from a hole-in-the-wall with great food to a restaurant with terrific atmosphere and excellent food. Pescado alla Diablo and pollo flameado are two of our favorites. Great wait staff too! You must try it!

Good is great, staff is friendly. The new tablets that the waiters use to record your order seen very cumbersome, and the order still didnt get prepared properly. Also, seemed difficult to get anyones attention even we needed to order, get drink refills, etc.

The food was great. Try the crispy tacos. They make them the way I like them. Ground beef, crisp taco shell and you dress them how you want. They dont add a bunch of lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Wait times can be long at peak times.

Update: 2nd visit not so great. 1st visit: We loved our first experience here. The atmosphere was unexpectedly nice! The service was very good and the food was very good. We will be going back soon (probably tonight!) A Rowlett keeper!

We went to this place for brunch and we loved it, Service was good and good food, we are planing to go later in the week to try margaritas, place looks really clean and open. I do recommend this place.
