We eat out a couple times a week, drove by the area and saw the place, so we decided to go there after reading the online reviews and by the end of the dinner had regretted it! The bill and 2 orders were wrong plus more....Our order was not large: Nobody was picking up the empty plates from our table, (they were not that busy because waiters were socializing with other tables); finally someone came over to pick them up. They brought 3 chips with salsa and shredded lettuce on it (there were 3 of us) as a consolation for screwing up our orders: You get free chips and salsa; they didnt do anything but put a couple of lettuce strips on 3 chips, we could not believe they had done such a ridiculous act. The bill was wrong: We received the bill, when they brought the receipt back for us to authorize the payment it was about $13.00 less, we signed it and thought they gave us credit for the wrong orders, though we signed WE decided to question the difference before returning it to the waiter. He came over and as we asked him, he told us they rang up the wrong amount and they had to swipe our credit card again; we are going to watch our credit card statement to make sure they dont double charge us and the correct amount is there. They also made us wait for a table when there were plenty of clean empty ones, that should have been a sign for us. We did not ask for the manager but everyone from the host to the waiters in the area knew the screw up of our orders because they saw it and hear us telling them again how (the place is not that big). They are pricey for Mexican food, we dont mind paying more if it is worth it; this place is definitely not worth the price, spend your money some place else.

This is the best Tex-Mex I have ever had, anywhere. The margaritas are better than any Ive had in Uptown, as is the food. And they are about twice the size (but just as strong) and much less expensive. I would recommend all of their food, but lately my favorite entres have been the brisket quesadillas, the stuffed jalapenos, the Amigos burger (their burgers are better than most burger joints!!), and the brisket enchiladas. Their queso is different than a lot of restaurants, but I love it. And you seriously cannot beat their margaritas. They also have outstanding service and the patio makes for a nice spot to relax and enjoy a mild evening. Have been coming here with my friends since I was in high school and just cant get enough of this place!

Tried Amigos for the first time today at lunch with my husband. Being in a strip mall, the restaurant is small. Inside is decorated very festive. The hostess greeted us before we were even completely through in the door. We were sat right away because we got there just after 11. If we were a few minutes later, we would be waiting for a table. The people just kept coming. The chips were fresh and warm and the salsa was perfect. We both got cheese enchiladas. Best I have EVER had! Great service...wonderful everything! We will be going back soon, thank goodness I work in Richardson!

Every time we walk in, the same guy is at the entrance on the phone. Last time we went in there he was on the phone and he seemed in a rush to seat us then we told him we wanted to order to-go, we waited for about five minutes just standing there while he was talking on the phone. My boyfriend had to get his attention again to figure out if we order with him or someone else. We only went in to get flan for my boyfriends mother to try, and it wasnt even ready. So we left. Other than this, we like Amigos... its just that guy at the front that throws everything off a little.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Great authentic Mexican restaurant! I moved here from North Carolina and was looking for a similar restaurant to the one I was used to back home. It took me 2 years to find one that I actually liked! I went to many of them looking for WHITE queso, all the restaurants had orange, they are NOT the same! Well I called Amigos first to see if they had white queso, sure enough the ONLY restaurant in Texas with white queso that I have found! Food is GREAT, margaritas are even BETTER! If I could give it more than 5 stars I definitely would!

A co-worker and I stopped her for lunch. Great atmosphere! The decor is nice with several different architectural pieces inside and out. The food was extremely fresh, even the chips for chips and salsa were straight from the oil. There was a packed crowd during lunch, but hardly noticeable. It was not loud at all! Entree was delicious and extremely afforable. I had two beers and a meal for 12-13$ without tip. I definetly recommend this place. Even the manager stopped by to share a few laughs during our visit.

When Amigos was a lot smaller, I was boxing at a gym next door to it. They were so friendly to us even when we would go in smelling and sweaty and the food was fantastic. Ive moved to San Antonio now but my grandparents are regulars there, and I eat there every time I come to visit. Its a lot bigger now, but still the same place I loved as a teenager. Awesome food, awesome people!! Congrats on your success! You deserve it

The bartender came around the bat and asked me if " I was OK " I said Id like a cheese enchilada and water, they brought me a cold one and no chips and salsa..I asked for it and was brought the check. I waited 10 minutes to get change after complaining that I had ordered chips and salsa. They said I hadnt ordered enough to deserve them... I said so what explain that and charge me.

Love Amigos! My sister & I eat there at least twice a month. The service is excellent. We have never had to wait very long for a table, if at all. Our food is always great & the service is surprisingly fast for it to be so fresh. the salsa is a little too spicy for me, but the margaritas are fantastic. I think I just talked myself into going tonight..... :)

Very good service! We had a surprise appetizer, beens on top of a tortilla chip cover with a spice sauce ,.. it was yummy! With also had very good fresh guacamole and a beautiful real home made tamale! For lunch Chicken Tortilla Soup (their version was unique, and Crispy Beef Tacos, ( the taco shells were not fry in house, everything else was good)

Just moved into the area, went here in the hopes of finding a good mexican place near us. The food was great, the prices were more than fair, the service was good, the margaritas are quite strong (still slightly under their influence at the moment). Overall extremely pleased with the location, we will be returning any time we crave mexican food!

This place used to be awesome. Management has changed over and its gone way downhill. I sat and watched 2 tables have to get up and get their own silverware while the "manager" David sat at the table next to us talking to a friend. We actually got up to get more salsa ourselves. All the good employees apparently moved to Casa Mama in Plano.
