While sitting at a hotel bar, in the Midwest of all places, I met a fellow Texan. This wise, older gentleman, told me, quite confidently, "Go to Steve Fields!" He also grinned, and said aside from the great food, its known as "Cougar City." I was amused with this guy, but pegged him as someone who knew fine food...and women! Fast forward about a year later, I told the wife that were going to Steve Fields. She {perplexed look on face} said "What the hell is Steve Fields?" I said trust me- this place is going to be good! When we were seated, the wife immediately laughed and commented that we were the youngest people in the restaurant. (Remember "Cougar City?") We could care less about the ages of fellow patrons, as we delved into the menu. For our entrees we opted for the following: Wife had the surf & turf (6 oz. filet with a 6 oz. Australian lobster tail), and I went with the sea bass, and scallops as an add on. For our app, we went with the lobster mashed potatoes. The sea bass and scallops were *some* of the best Ive had. The wifes filet was superb, with excellent favor. But, the winner was the wifes lobster. We both raved that it was, hands down, the best lobster tail weve ever had. The only minor letdown- the lobster mashed potatoes were average, at best. I addition to the really good food, Steve Fields has an excellent wine, and liquor selection. The service, as with most restaurants of this caliber, was spot on, and professional. When leaving, we did peek in the bar. And yes, it was a colorful environment, with lots of very attractive "older" women, that freely advertised for their plastic surgeons. Steve Fields: my type of joint; I cant wait to return!

We made a reservation for a Tuesday night to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. We arrived on time to find there would be a 10-minute wait. (no apologies) After 15 minutes, we were shown to a booth next to the swinging doors of the kitchen. (We had specifically asked when we made reservations to be seated away from the kitchen.) We went back to the front and asked to speak to the manager. While we waited, one of the girls showed us to a table in the center of the restaurant. The manager came over, and we explained calmly about the wait and the table near the kitchen. His response blew us away: "Were a busy restaurant, so you just have to wait sometimes even if you have a reservation. We gave you one of the best tables in the house. (right next to the kitchen!) What did you expect? An empty restaurant?" At which point, we said: "No, but we expected a more respectful manager." Dont know what his deal was (by the look of it too much red meat), but good luck during this recession. We plan to tell everyone we know to never spend a dime in your restaurant. (Ive already told everyone I work with.) Guess the Fields manager has never heard the saying: "The customer is always right." I wouldnt be surprised at all if Steve Fields suffers the same fate as the two or three restaurants in that little area that have gone out of business. By the way, the $200 dinner we had at Ruths Cris was fabulous.

I like eating at Steve Fields Steak and Lobster Lounge for special occasions. I usually get a bowl of the lobster bisque as an appetizer and they usually have an off menu special of surf and turf which I get. The steaks is usually a 6 oz Fillet cooked medium rare and whatever type lobster they have more of is usually whats included. This is usually around 50 bucks. Steak is cooked well, Lobster (while on the small side) is cooked correctly. Is this the best Steak and Lobster place around Frisco/Plano? No. Bobs Steak and Chop House has better surf and turf. Bigger lobster, more flavorful meat. However, I still give this place 5 stars for the following reasons...... - Food Quality is great -Great ambiance for date night -Wine list isnt priced too overboard -Servers are on point. Your big uncle Karl has a tip for you.......................................Tell the waiter its your anniversary/birthday/cakeday/celebration and they bring you this badass piece of chocolate cake on the house. Some damn good chocolate cake. No lie. Give it a shot!

First let me say that we have been to Steve Fields in Plano many times in the past and was one of our favorite places. The wife made reservations for dinner the week before new years for New Years eve. We arrived 30 minutes early and had a glass of wine in the bar as we usually do. After we were seated we realized that the only menu option was a three course meal for $89 per person. That to is fine however the wife and I will typically split an entrée however tonight that was not an option and there were no other options! I normally would not have a problem with any of this however when we made the reservations we were not notified and had no idea that this was the only option. I spoke with management and they were not at all sympathetic nor understanding. After that we decided to skip dinner and leave. Unfortunately with that said I will not return to Steve Fields and would not recommend this place to anyone. Happy New Year!

We went there because it was suppose to be a four star restaurant, worse experience ever in fine dining. We went there for our anniversary. Had reservation had to wait the hostess comes up and tells us they are cleaning a booth for us, next thing you know we are being seated next to someone not romantic at all. So we ask the hosts why did she tell us that the booth was for us then she seats us at a table next to someone else. Her answer was booths were for three or more people, ok I can live with that but a minute later she sits a couple in the booth and it was the gentleman that was standing there laughing and carrying on with the other hostess. So I ask for the Manger the manger came out I told him what just happen and his response was that guy comes in here and spend lots of money. I spent 480.00 an change not shump change. My wife is white I am hispanic . The other couple was white racism is alive and well in 2015

There is a group of us that meet for happy hour on Friday night. We decided to go to Steve Fields this Friday. Big Mistake! We arrived at 5 oclock only to find that someone had taken all the middle tables for his party. That was most of the available seating. We have 7 people in our group. There was only one booth left to sit in, which we had to squeeze into with two bar stools at the end. By the time we left over two hours later, two of the tables that the gentleman had "saved" had never been used. The waitress told us it was first come first serve. The service was very slow and the hamburgers we ordered "rare" were well done. We couldnt find a waitress to tell her they were overcooked, and our hamburger was cold by the time the ketchup arrived much later. The atmosphere is too loud and cramped. None of us will ever go back. Too many other choices in town.
