I have eaten at other hibachi restaurants, but none compare to Geisha in quality of food or service. Our meal was delicious, but it was made all the more special by our hibachi chef ( I think his name was Arthur) who was not only an excellent cook, but a delightful entertainer as well. We laughed a lot while he prepared everyones entrees, vegetables and both fried rice and noodles. Initially, we were told that they were out of rice and noodles were the only option. Then our server said the kitchen was preparing more rice, but it would take at least 20 more minutes. We all began reluctantly ordering the noodles when an employee came over and told our server that there was rice available for our table, so most of the noodle orders were changed to rice and the meal proceeded with soup and appetizers while we waited for our chef to arrive and start the show. Apparently, someone forgot to inform the chef about the rice/noodle switch, because he prepared noodles for everyone and then one of the guests at the table said we were told we could have rice. He not only took the change in stride, he served us the noodles anyway--which were delicious!--and then proceeded to excuse himself from the table and go to the kitchen to fetch the rice. Im not sure what kind of snafu caused the rice difficulty, but in the end, it didnt matter, because, like every other part of our meal, the fried rice was excellent. Even the teenagers in our group were impressed by the food and the chef who prepared it. I cannot praise Arthur highly enough. As far as I am concerned, there is now only one place for hibachi in the entire Metroplex and that is Geisha Steak & Sushi in Plano.

Just ate here and surprised how nice in appearance and name a place can be, it can be so basic in food selection. My sashimi came with only that and had to ask for rice ( sushi is the kind of food my husband and I go out to eat 3-4 times a week for), no rolls or a presentation on the plate that compares to other places weve been. Ive never not had miso soup (this was replaced by chicken stock here), and my husbands salad and soup came out before the appetizer so his soup went cold waiting for the appetizer so I could eat. My food then came out before his so we waited before his came out to eat, and not once did someone come to check on us, just to drop off the bill. Also our experience started out by the waiter running us back and forth between dirty tables because he didnt know where to seat us. Overall I would never come back here, I feel the $66 paid for this meal was way too much and if this restaurant was in Florida it would most likely go out of business.

Geisha has been our go to place for a while. Weve even had birthday dinners there and have made great memories. The food is amazing (5 stars!), dine in service is great (4 stars!) but the customer service is seriously lacking when it comes to calling in orders. Ive called in at least 5 times in the last month or so wanting to order off the kids menu. One time they said they didnt allow kids meals to go (not true) and most recently I was interrogated as to whether it was for me or an actual kid (ridiculous!) each time someone got on the phone saying "ok well do it for you this time." Please dont do me any favors! Your food is amazing but so is your competitors. I dont like being interrogated as to what Im ordering. I can always spend my money in an establishment that wont argue me down over what Id like for dinner. it shouldnt matter if I order off the kids menu especially on a to go order. Youre still getting income into your restaurant.

I was in there about a week ago..I got lost in the dallas area and ended up in plano (no gps)...I never eat Japanese food so I wasnt sure what it would be like. I stopped by to grab something to eat since it is right by the highway and to try and get some directions...The host quickly let me know where I was at and printed a map out for me..I told her I would also be staying for lunch and she gave a me a table. I thought the place was really polished (it looks a bit different now than the picture on this page)..I had a california roll and a green geisha (which was really refreshing)..I didnt order anything else because I had to leave (I was in a hurry)..The music was good, the food was good, and the drink was great. It looked like they were having a slow day because it was pretty empty (I only saw about two other tables)...Very decent place for lunch, friendly employees, and relaxing atmosphere!

The food is pretty good, the staff is nice enough and the bartender is my favorite. The reason we normally choose to dine at Geisha is due to convenience and the fact you can make a reservation. Three months ago I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but the last three times we were there we made a reservation for 7 and 7:30 and were seated an hour late the first time and 45 mins late the last two times. Last night we had to wait 20 mins for the cook to show up after placing our order. If I wanted the wait I would go to Kobes. I also noticed one cook did 4 tables including ours during the 1.5 hours we were there. He look beat. Geisha, your food is good but time to staff up. Also, dont give a reservation time and not honor it. Its really painful when older seniors or kids are involved and you have to explain to them why its taking so long.

My first time here a few months back was the time my friend got hooked on the place; my second time yesterday was when I got hooked! The Tuna (Ahi) Tower was great (not amazing to me but it was to my friend since they add FOUR dollops of multi-colored roe around the plate) and the calamari appetizer was PHENOMENAL! Id never had calamari sliced in thick planks before and it was amazingly tender. The dipping sauce only added to the savory flavor of the light tempura batter. We were there for lunch, had a prompt and sweet server, quick water refills, and were pleased to see a very decent crowd of area businesspeople there on a Friday. After reading a number of negative reviews, Im hopeful that this place is on the upswing again this year. We have plans to go there for my birthday in a few weeks... cant wait!

Big money, tiny sushi. Seriously, if youre thinking about going here for sushi, theres a Tomb Thumb down the street (coit and campbell) that sells way better sushi...cheaper, bigger, and all around better (I went there after eating here). The only thing impressive about Geishas sushi is how small they manage to make the rolls. It would be kinda cute if it didnt cost so much. I spent $50 and left hungry...and I typically dont eat that much. The restaurant was clean enough and the waiter was nice...we just didnt see him very often because he seemed to be the only one working (it wasnt even crowded). So if you have lots of time and money to waste on mediocre food then this place might be for you, but if youre looking for a good sushi restaurant, steer clear of this place.
