The pie (Ebony and Ivory) is absolutely amazing. The cost of drinks are high. The baristas are friendly and competent. Drinks are always perfect. My only issue with the establishment is that I and several of my friends find the owner incredibly rude. For example, a several months ago or last year, I was told to stop talking to people that were sitting around me. The owner of the establishment claimed they wanted to study and I was interrupting them. Hmm, I knew these people I was sitting around. Some go to my church. A few I have known since I worked at Dallas Seminary some 8 years back and we were saying "Hi." And yes. Some I did not know. But since when did a cup of coffee and pie come with parental social instruction/supervision. I am 43 years old! So, I have strong relationship with many of the individuals I was conversing with. I have a rapport where they could be candid with me and ended the conversation if needed. After I was asked/told to stop interrupting them, a few of us left and came to our home. All I will say is that as a previous small business owner who ran a successful custom cabinetry and custom trim shop for over 9 years, this is NOT how client bases are formed. You do not treat people this way. From my perspective and several others. the owner attempts to be the social police. I am a 43 year old mentally competent, sober, free, non-felonious, law abiding male citizen without offending the owner for conversing with people that I know, other coffee shop/social establishments are not too far away. After looking at some of the comments, I am not the only on who feels the owner is rude. Changes need to occur. The owner needs to understand the realities of the WI-FI/Coffee Shop/ industry. Provide good product and abandon the social policing and I will return.

Great coffee, great food. V60 pour-over (Google if youre curious, its delicious), Chemex, French Press, traditional drip. I hope they will eventually get a vacuum brewer, cold brew system, and Aeropress to round out the experience, but its quite a good selection as-is. They also have plenty of teas if coffee isnt your thing. The only two detriments - and they are small ones - is that they only seemed to have Scrabble and Jenga there, so if youre hoping for other board games, its BYOBG. Furthermore, their hours currently are a bit rough in the evenings during the week, but I suspect that is due to how new the place is and thus the lack of employees to cover a wider range of hours. Still, local Oak Cliff coffee and pies (the pies are amazing, eat them), good atmosphere, plenty of seating both inside and outside, friendly waitstaff, and occasional live bands. I looked for a *long* time for a local coffee shop when I first moved to that area of Plano, and this is finally what I was looking for.

Moving to the area soon and wanted to scope out the local shops. I was looking for an independent coffee shop to avoid Starbucks. This place is Awesome. Walked in and was greeted by the baristas with smiles. I ordered a black coffee and breakfast burrito. The coffee was excellent. It had great aroma and taste and was not bitter like most strong coffees. The breakfast burrito was decent, especially for a small coffee place. I love breakfast burritos but you can only do so much without a full kitchen. During my entire visit as customers walked in and out they were greeted as if they had been coming for years even if it was their first time. I will certainly be back. Overall a great place to hangout and have a Great cup of coffee.

I got a latte for my wife and a coffee for her boss. It didnt go well. Her boss couldnt even finish his coffee, and my wife said the milk tasted off. They probably scorched it when they steamed it. Honestly, I think they pour their shots too long, and scald their milk instead of streaming it to a nice velvety texture like they should. The atmosphere is clunky and off-putting as well. It feels rustic like a country karaoke bar, but they seem to be trying a hipster vibe. The staff doesnt have any advice or input for a new customer, and they seem barely willing to help. The only reason I have it more than one star was because it was at least clean.

Totally spoiled our visit by this older lady (seems like she is the manager or the owner). We dropped our chips and she made me clean it myself. She brought a broom and literally forced me to clean it. I have never seen a business where customer has to clean up the mess. LOL! There is nothing special in their coffee and foods. We came back here as the interior is nice and we enjoy spending little bit of our weekend time here. No more coming back here and I highly recommend people not to go here as we all deserve little bit of respect as customer.

Excellent Cappuccino. Place is clean and open. It is a bit hot inside and the parking is a block away but, a nice place to go and chill or a bit. I saw several sandwiches and they all looked very good. Asked and the people were very pleased with their choices. I dont eat Certain things but the guy next to me ordered a Drake (Slice hammy on a croissant with chips.) looked good and he orders it often so I would say if you are one who that appeals to,, probably a solid choice.

Oh, man. I love this place so much. I have only been four or five times and they already remember who I am and ask specific questions about my life. They are so kind and the coffee is the best I have ever had. So smooth and they keep their coffee machines clean. You can just tell by the taste. Their sandwiches and desserts are really good as well! Seating is comfy and abundant! I love this coffee shop! Just wish it was closer to me!

Do you want to go to that coffee shop that you brag to all your friends about because they still go to Starbucks? This is where you need to be. Its where the locals go to hang and relax. Even if you are not a local, you can come. People wont look at you like they did in old westerns when the city guy walked into the saloon. Anyway, just go. You will not regret it. The coffee is amazing and you will want more and more!

You cant find better coffee in Plano in a place this cozy! I am a coffee snob and so I just cant settle for mediocre. The emporium pies are always great. Please treat yourself to a Smooth Operator chocolate pie, when you order your breve latte, no sugar. Just try it! You can workout later! The sandwiches are delicious, but I really really wish they had good breakfast options. Its still a 5 though, for sure.

This place has amazing coffee. It is in my top five coffee places in America, and we just finished visiting Portland and Seattle--two of the coffee Meccas of the world. I almost gave it 4 stars because of an older lady who worked there and was talking smack about another customer to us and then was rude to our entire group. The coffee and barista was so good, that I am overlooking this detail.
