We have always loved the location and the atmosphere. Our biggest disappointment was finding them closed when we invited friends to meet us there. Under new ownership, the bistro is open 7 days a week, including Sundays until 2:00. we are listening to a live pianist, eating a perfectly toasted bagel with cream cheese, strawberries, and blueberries on the one hand, and a very nice Eggs Benedict in Debras case. The owner is here, working and managing quality control, nicely handling a mini-rush every now and then. The coffee is not only Fair Trade, but very, very good. One million times better than burned beans masquerading as a gourmet experience. We were given complimentary Mimosas, as they are awaiting their TABC license. I love the fact that they are right on the old square in Downtown Garland. All sorts of events are planned there each month. Add to that open microphone nights for local musicians, and an eclectic set of customers, and you have a great experience.

Third time coming here. Came in on a Sunday at noon. Not busy at all and there was a performer on stage playing and singing guitar, which as a performer myself I enjoy. The counter girl (young African American woman with black glasses) assisted me (although not very welcoming). I waited for my drink much more than usual, to where people that came after me received their drinks. I ordered a simple small white mocha. When I went out to check on my drink, the counter girl said she called out the drink "6 times". Since there was a performer on stage, obviously you cant hear. I did make sure I frequently made eye contact just in case they called my drink. Since it was not busy, I dont understand how you can "supposedly" call a drink 6 times. It would be easier to either flag someone or simply bring them a drink, since they were not busy. Not good basic customer service.

Great atmosphere. Unique brick/wood walls give it a really home-y feeling to it. Lots of artwork to fill the walls. As far as the coffee is concerned, it has a bit of a modern style to it. (lots of foam) So if youre more of a purist when it comes to coffee, this place might not be for you. However, their spro was actually quite smooth, not burnt, and had a good flavor, so it would be possible for you to enjoy a good shot of espresso or an americano. The staff were very kind, although it was a bit busy, so I didnt get a chance to see how knowledgable they were. Definitely a recommended stop if youre in the area. If for nothing else, at least to enjoy the atmosphere and some good live music.

The food is not bad, me and my friends have been there a few times for lunch and is such a pretty place. Today we went, really nice guy took our orders. I ordered a blt that was really good and a chicken noodle soup that I didnt get so I decided to go to the register and just ask if I can get a credit for next time and the girl gave me a "look" like I was a bother. I have manners and asked nicely she was so rude, like wow! I felt so uncomfortable like I was doing something wrong. I really hope this girl doesnt treat other customers like that maybe she didnt like me going up there to ask if I could get a credit who knows, I wish I wouldve gotten her name.

I had a bride that had booked and paid for this venue IN FULL for her wedding. The new owner tried to come in and tell them they had to pay an additional amount because he wanted more money. He then cancelled on her and would not honor their contract AND did NOT refund their money. Horrible HORRILE business practice. Not to mention, the wedding industry is a tight knit community so if you think your going to get away with screwing people over on the biggest day of the life, you are mistaken!! I will be sure to let ALL brides know to stay far away....

This is our favorite coffee place. Its very casual and relaxed, the tables are really big so you can study or play games ect. without being cramped. If you want "fast food" coffee, this is not the place. If you order food (and its all really good) they will automatically give you glass dishes and put your coffee in glass cups so that you can enjoy better. Do yourself a favor and order a grilled cheese and add bacon. Its amazing! I always order a decaf soy cappuccino and they make it perfect every time. So good.

Awww how I love this place! One of the few independently owned coffee shops in Garland and their espresso drinks are the best in the North Dallaa area! They have Italian style espresso that are soooo flavorful! A machiato is an actual machiato here, not some flavor latte. If youre not into espresso drinks, they brew fresh ground pour over coffee that my husband says is also great. To top it all off, this place has a wonderful ambiance, and every time Ive been there, service has consistently been friendly.

Found this coffee shop one Saturday a few months ago when my husband and I just didnt want to end up in a Starbucks. We absolutely fell in love! The atmosphere is happy, the service is very pleasant and the coffee is fantastic! Ever since then, we go almost every Saturday morning we can! Everything is made fresh, which is part of why it is so excellent! I would recommend not to come when you are in a rush, though, because it might take a little bit longer than expected (but it is so worth it)!

The Generator is one of those community coffee shops that you really want to support and like, but just doesnt quite get the coffee right. They have a variety of food selections. They have plenty of seating. They have toys for children to play with. They have plenty of room. They occasionally have live music. Sadly, they also have an americano that I dump after drinking half of it. That said, I would still totally come here before Starbucks.

Wonderful environment to be in with a great staff. I would recommend anyone to visit this dimond in a rough. Nir the owner is very friendly and inviting! He will make you experience very worthwhile! Love love the Generator!!! Right next door is an awesome, unique and fun brew-pub that would be the cherry on top! Amazing and friendly owner...+Intrinsic Smokehouse & brewery! This Garland square is the place to be!

Adorable baristas, delicious drinks (hot or cold for the opposite kind of weather), and very nice blueberry scones. If you do not go here you are missing out. The christmas lights hanging down from the ceiling make every corner of the cafe an instagram masterpiece and give the surroundings a very romantic aura. Please just go to the Generator. Support local businesses and stop going to Starbucks.

The owners of the Generator were beyond generous when they allowed me and my grieving family to host a unique Celebration of Life for our mother after her sudden passing. They were warm and inviting as if they were opening up their home to us. We couldnt have been more pleased and comfortable. All of the feedback we received from our guests were positive. We are tremendously grateful!
