Lleve a mi esposa a comer por su cumpleaños 35 , la muchacha se tardo mucho en atendernos, se equivocaron con las bebidas, nuestra orden llego tarde y fria, la mesera dijo q fueron los cocineros como si eso fuera a cambiar de que no teniamos el plato , mi señora se molesto y ya no quiere ir, y todavia despues de eso va y nos lleva la cuenta como corriendonos y los encargados nadamas estaban viendo el telefono mientras uno sin comer Esperaba mas de ahi porque mis compadres no lo recomendaron

Hadnt been there since a year or more... Had an awful experience from food to service... Then I heard from family and friends that things had changed, "new management" supposedly... Decided to go and celebrate a special occasion... The chairs can use an upgrade but the food and service were amazing! Our waitress had a beautiful smile and attitude! The rice was nothing like I remember and the shrimp was so fresh! Took rice home and want more! Definitely go back again and again to try a different plate! Hope our server is Ana again! Can we request a certain server? Hope so! Managers were great too! Asked how everything was in different occasions! What hasnt changed is dessert☹️ Maybe some fried bananas with ice cream or hot brownies with ice cream! Pan dulce too!

Have been going to the McAllen, Tx location for approximately 2 years and everything was great, service and all. Sad to say that just recently one of the managers (Gerorge) began to be somewhat "rude" to where even some of the waitresses have complained about him. Our last visit to this location was on June 23, 2017. Service was great but when food was brought out, something was odd with the shrimp. George came our table and basically said " cooks cut shrimp wrong" which was said with a bad attitude. He didnt seem to care with our concerns being that we have visited this location every 2 weeks for past 2 years. WOW

I would have given this place a five star rating if it was not for the bad service we got in the begining. One person took our drink order and the waitress never showed up. We flagged down a lady who was kind enough to help us by the name of Sonia and we made her our waitress to our request she was outstanding ! . The micheladas were weak so we were not that impressed. The food was EXCELLENT ! OMG! The rice wow ! The Salmon wow the grilled fish and shrimp wow ! The carrots were a little uncooked but good anyway. Over all this place is good.

Was skeptical when I walked in. The table and chairs could use an upgrade to match the decor. But the food was excellent and well priced. My girlfriend ordered the Mangolava frozen drink and was impressed (nothing impresses her when it comes to food). We both ordered the whole red snapper. It was really good. The side of rice was really good as well. Definitely a must try place. Make sure you read both sides of the menu and pay attention to the smaller card that tells you the various ways you can have your fish prepared.

My husband took me their to celebrate especial occasion, we are very disappointed. Service its just ok. First we other lemonade and came back to say it was cancel for the day. Second I order fish chicharrones ..onlu so they can ask me if i wanted them with or without flour??? !! To find out they look like chicken popcorn full of small bones.. yup.. i should of order the whole fish if i wanted bones.. end up eating with fingers of course..

Heard good things about out. But very disappointed. Food was so-so. Service was poor. Atmosphere was very loud. Manager came out to great customers but got defensive about his place. Kept saying his brother at HEB thought his food was great. Told him his brother needs to get out more often and to places he doesnt get a free meal. Anyway paid for the meal that we had left at least half there and have not been back.

my experience at Mambo was amazing. I felt like I was at a seafood place in Veracruz Mexico!! but even better. The service was also really polite mad friendly. Over all great atmosphere. The food was also amazing. I ordered the bacon wrap shrimp, i will bring you to the heavens and than you will fall on a cloud. thats how good the food was! Recommend Mambos and with you guys have an awesome experience like I did.

I went once time only because I heard that it was good, but Im so disappointed because the food was not good. And then the service was not that great. The girl when to our table just to take the order and then to take the food and she didnt go to see if we needed something else. If we need more drinks. I would recommend for anyone to not go there. ~_~

Drove in a rush lastnight from McAllen to beat the 11:00 closing, made at 10:50, but to our suprise the door was locked to a full house and we were turned away by the floor manager with glasses. Change your damn hours on your website and the door if it doesnt reflect when your hours of operation are. Will never eat there again.

I dont understand why is people eating here. very poor flavor on everything. Chicharrón plate came plain, nothing else on it, no fries no tortillas. My side salad was really bad. The only good thing was the rice. The fried shrimp were small. Wont come back. No refills on kids lemonade.

Absolutely pleased we stopped in. Food and service fantastic. Waitress Isle offered us a complimentary cup of mambo rice to ease our sides decision making considering it was our first time here. Definitely pleased, will return!

Great management, great staff, great food, great dining area. What else could you ask for from a restaurant?? My wife and I, and now our little cousin, love to come here! Big portions ensure leftovers as well!

I come here for their great gumbo! It has raw oysters, shrimp, fish and rice in a thick sauce. If you order the combos, you can have seafood for a great price. The rest of the items can quickly get expensive.

Seafood market and restaurant. They have a bar too. The service was polite. That doesnt equate to great or fast but it was ok. The salmon was a bit over cooked. The civiche was good.
