My wife and I went here for a date on a Sunday evening. It was slow and that was a good thing because we needed time to review the menu. There are a lot of options and the person working the register took the time to answer questions. My wife had a custom burger with fries and I had one of the listed options. Our total was around $20. After ordering and paying, youre given a slip of paper with a celebrity or famous figure. We had Freddy Mercury and the Lone Ranger. The restaurant is an eclectic mix of retro design and oddity. Youll see funny messages written everywhere, including a scribbled name for the mounted buffalo head on the wall. Our food was good but nothing to write home about. The assortment of pickles were different and fun, but again, nothing to write home about. We didnt sit at the bar so I cant mention anything about that. tl;dr Give it a try at least once.

Ze foodz, eez amazingz!! My girlfriend and I went in on a Monday evening, thought it would be slow, and really didnt want to be the only people in. However, they had steady business which I think is pleasant to the customer. As far as the food goes, I had the Big Tex Burger. Patty cooked med well, as the menu states, veggies were on point, and the 5 gallon buckets filled with varieties of pickles werent bad either. Wouldve however liked to have seen more beers on tap. Being a Texas burger joint, maybe some craft brews would be nice. Altogether, Im excited to go back again. Twisted Root does it right.

Great place to get a quick delicious burger and a homemade Arnold palmer. They give you a "name" of a popular icon and call your order out for it. Pretty awesome staff, there was singing and teasing, tears and laughs. Good looking women and bison! The bison tasted good, dont know if the women did. Im married so I didnt get a "bite" of the locals... A little off topic there, sorry. They had his ketchup that they made here out of some sort of pepper and I wanted to take it home with me. I managed to not subside to my animalistic urges to burglar the condiments and had a great time! Would recommend.

Casual , laid back , relaxed , atmosphere , wonderful drinks, amazing Burgers, amazing people , amazing decorations. , and there fried green beans are to die for. , and there choice of meat is an adventure for the brave. Try the alligator. Or the kangaroo. Its truly is a gem to come to a place like this if your in the mood for a good , delicious juicy, grilled Burger with crunchy, raw, sliced onions, fresh lettuce,and choice of Burger buns.

Had the burger with Green Chile and Avacado and some fries and I thought it was exceptional even without the dressing. I wasnt sure if I thought the staff was kind of rude or Im just a sensitive guy on a road trip, but after that burger and a side of the Ranch infused pickles (which are free) I could care less. Definitely recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

Very clean, bathrooms great. Staff are really superb here. Had two different managers/staff come by and check on us. Burgers are great size and if youre adventurous, please pick the meat specialty of the month and they have a burger of the month too. Their specialty condiments are delicious too, shakes are fantastic as well. Very much recommend.

Great people! Great place! Food is really good. There are a lot of options and they have a gluten free bun that is really good. Im sure most people would think any gluten free bun tastes like card board but I have had a lot of different ones and theirs is really good. The owner Gabe is really nice and cares a lot about what he does and it shows.

Atmosphere is really cool, service is friendly and quick. Beer selection is good, and happy hour is a great deal. Tried the kangaroo burger first, wasnt expecting it, ultimately had to switch back to normal beef, which they did very quickly. Even gave me a free chocolate milkshake for the trouble, which was delicious.

I have never had a burger as juicy and fresh as what Twisted Root has to offer. They recently took my favorite burger the "Sexy Hawaiian" off the menu and it still hasnt slowed me down. There are so many other good burgers! I try to make it by once a week. Banana Almond Root Beer! Do yourself a favor!

Good food and a great atmosphere. Twisted Root has excellent burgers and a great variety of pickles. Try their specialty root beers or have a mixed drink at the bar. The staff has a great sense of humor and the order calling process is very fun. Watch a movie at the drafthouse after dinner.

Burgers here are excellent and the staff is great, which can be rare in Lubbock. They all seem to be having fun and have immediately fixed the one issue I had plus gave us a gift card. Enjoyable environment and great food with interesting add-ins. Also recommend the pork skins!

I am from Dallas and have eaten at the original several times and love it. This location was very disappointing. Burgers were small and overcooked. Very disappointing when you are spending 13-14 dollars a burger. The original is great but I would steer clear of this one.

TR is a very fun atmosphere with a real twist on burgers. Most of our table got the Big Tex Burger and split some pickle chips. I thought it was a good burger but not amazingly over the top. The pickles were very good. Next time I want to try something exciting.

Burgers are good. BUT, dont order a Buffalo Burger. It is NOT Buffalo meat. At least it wasnt this time. Ask Mgr and assured it was. But there is a distant difference in taste esp when they said they only used salt and pepper. NOT BUFFALO MEAT. Got ripped.

My wife loves this place. I could take it or leave it. My burger was raw inside even though I had asked for it to be well done. I think on a previous visit it was fine, hence the three stars instead of one or two. The fries and milk shake were delicious.

Great burgers and atmosphere with a fun twist. Instead of treating you like a number for your order they give you a celebrity name, we were happy to be Han Solo. Awesome homemade pickles, a wide verity of drink selections from the bar, very impressed.

Killed it with the BURGER GAME here. Great Food, bacon that has some heft to it, fun atmosphere, they give you "Super Hero" names, so when your food is ready they yell Superman, Superman your food is hot and ready." Fun place, fun atmosphere

Stopped in for a quick drink with a friend. The entrance was somewhat confused with West Crust (another great place) but once you get in, the atmosphere is nice, the service is good, and the drinks are decently priced. All in all a good night!

Amazing burgers you can either build yourself or select from a menu. Ask what exotic meats they have on your visit...if they say Camel, try it!! It was pretty good! But if you ask my wife, shell tell you I go mainly for the pickles!!

This place is AWESOME!!!!! The food here is fantastic!!! Not just because my bff cooked it. Reasonably priced, especially for what they have to offer, atmosphere is great. I will definitely be coming back when Im in town again.
