Is it really that hard J&B? To be honest, the service is fine, the selection is mediocre at best, Ive seen much better. There is nothing wrong w/ the coffee, though I dont brag about it to people that come in from out of town. My largest complaint is the lack of thought that went into the layout. 1st, there is only one toilet & you must often wait a long time to use it, 2nd, the bathroom has no fan so it usually smells like crap. 3rd, the sitting areas consist of two large high ceiling-ed open rooms stuffed w/ tables & chairs so thick that you can barely get around, the floor is concrete & the walls are hard or glass. The result is the creation of giant echo chambers that magnifie sound and it gets so loud you cant study or hear the person next to you. 4th there are a lot of windows, but people use their laptops in coffee shops and the glare isnt appreciated. Did the owners ever visit the northwest & see what good coffee shops are like, did they think about these things at all before setting up shop?

My friend and I came in to get some coffee. It was a little before 10pm before we walked in. We had looked online to try something different from Starbucks and this was the only place open till 11pm. So we get there and the guy said "We served our last customer we can only do Italian Sodas and Chai Teas." I was not impressed by that. Some people want coffee late at night and talk but they looked all closed up before 10.The prices werent even that great. The cups looked smaller than Starbucks. I was not impressed. Starbucks was better than this place. As much as I want to support local businesses its really hard when Starbucks is so much better. Starbucks you may pay more but you get friendly staff and larger portions. My friend and I will be going to Starbucks from now on.

Just passing through on a road trip and found this place the most attractive from other reviews read. Grabbed a taste test if there Dark drip of the day "Brazil". It was a mild dark, not over roasted with slight smokey taste and medium- low acidity. We asked if they served affogata...although they hadnt ever heard of it before, they NAILED it!!! Great creamy vanilla ice cream with a perfect espresso flavor complement!!! If accustomed to good quality coffee in a local coffee bar with personality, theyve got your spot. P.s. Thank you for giving my wife her new favorite place since Sweet Rose in Santa Monica, CA! Top marks.

Still my favorite coffee shop in town. Used to live here in college. Place is even better with the remodel, which now has ample plug in spaces. I love that theyre serving Evocation coffee and espresso now, as well as the Daybreak coffee my mom loves. They carry my favorite brand of loose leaf tea, and have fresh baked goods every morning. You can always find a friendly face or some interesting conversation. The back room is great for meeting space, community events, and live music. Its also promotes a diverse atmosphere bc of its proximity to Texas Tech, with awesome people and an even cooler experienced staff.

went in there with my roommate to grab a cup really fast and as I was sitting at the table my roommate had his sand which from a different restaurant just sitting there as we waited, an employee came over and told him to move it because outside food wasnt welcome, he placed it on his lab and the employee told him he had to put his sand which on the ground.... unnecessary if you ask me. the coffee is decent but expect at least a 6 or 7 minute wait regardless of what time you come, on top of that its always so crowded so theres never anywhere to wait you kind of just have to hover around awkwardly

This is one of the best places to go for coffee, and its a local business! If youre planning to stay, ask for your drink in a mug. My favorite beverage is a hot vanilla latte, but they boast a fairly diverse menu with coffees and teas. If you are visiting during the evening of the school year, prepare for the place to be pretty packed. The interior has a nice design and features lots of windows, so it feels open and comfortable. The furniture is aging and isnt the best for long term hangouts, but thats not to say people dont do it!

J & B is a great coffee house. Great employees, great atmosphere and GREAT coffee. Unlike their competitor from Seattle, they dont cut corners. They take the time to make sure each cup of coffee is a great cup of coffee. Lots of seating and a pleasant environment. With a wide variety of customers. Business people, retired individuals and Texas Tech students. I have met clients there multiple times for meetings. If you want a great cup of coffee in Lubbock, this is your place.

This place is the epitome of a college coffee shop - and I love it! They have events going on during the school year (like open mic night). Say goodbye to Starbucks Chai Tea Latt - its too watered down; not enough flavor. Order one from J&B and you wont go back. I love coming here and studying, enjoying their wifi and drinking something delicous! I gave the food a 2 because I havent really eaten their pastries and coffee cakes, but they look delicious!

Plethora of coffee choices (including daily especials), EXTREMELY {not} Overpriced & an ambience very conducive to learning and free-thinking [like the 20th century Viennese coffeeshops]. Your loss if youre a caffeeinoholic but just drive by this place without showing {&receiving} some

I love J&Bs, they have the best coffee in town matched with the best coffee house vibes. Its always full in there, so you know its good! I took my parents there who are coffee pros and my dad got a French press and was inPRESSed. Haha. But really, i love a lot of their drinks but normally get the white mocha or normal coffee P.s. My boyfriend says the cowboy is terrible and no one should drink it

The environment is fantastic. I love the shabby shake. It is possibly the most delicious iced coffee drink Ive had. Unfortunately, the prices are a little high compared with other coffee shops. If your willing to pay, the warm, inviting environment may well be worth it. The staff are friendly enough, but they do not go out of their way to be friendly. All in all, one of the best coffeeshops around.

WOW! I LOVE IT!! its the best!!!! Whenever I go to Lubbock, we would always go by Starbucks and treat ourselves to coffee, then my daughter introduced me to J&B Coffee Co. The Masked Rider is AMAZING!! I STILL like Starbucks white chocolate mocha, but at this moment, I look forward to any Lubbock trips JUST to go by J&B!!! The staff is very friendly too!!

Great loose leaf tea and specially coffee offerings. (Monks prayer is my favorite) Id also recommend the croissant sandwiches. Its a very popular college study spot and gets quite full and loud during the school year. I prefer the back room to avoid the noise. The ambiance isnt quite as nice, but its much quieter.

This is my first trip to Lubbock and Im so glad I chose to give J&B my morning! Busy place, but I was lucky to find a table. I highly recommend the Caramel Cowboy, yum! They have lots of seating, its just a busy place that can be difficult to find a seat. Its worth it though! Great spot to get some work done.
