Food is good, but service sucks. We have been dining here since the doors opened in about 2010. Since then, we have noticed negative patterns established with service. We always dine hibachi, but our visits the last few years have been from telling us, without flexibility on their part, exactly where we "MUST SIT." (Their words.) Ok, I am a laid back person, so we continued to roll with it. Recently, one guest of our party was not satisfied with the appetizer. We informed the server that the appetizer was too salty. Will you please exchange it for something else? Her reply, I must talk to the manager. Manager arrives at our table and asks our guest, "Did you order this appetizer?" Yes, but it is too salty and I just cant eat it, was our guests reply. Will you exchange it for something else? "But you ordered this appetizer, continued the manager, so can you eat the parts that you like?" I was now stunned, shocked, and recognized that the exchange had now ruined our partys evening here. While I was about to intervene, our guest said to the manager, on behalf of the customer will you remove the appetizer from our table and return it to the kitchen, and I am not interested in a substitution now. The manager reluctantly complied. I have never in all my years witnessed such an exchange. I was also perplexed as to why the manager had to be called over on a situation that any server should be allowed to resolve. A standard reply from the manager, since she had the power, about the appetizer, at least from experience, would have been something on these lines, "I am sorry that you dont like the appetizer and I am happy to exchange or substitute it for one of our other ones." Another thing that I dont like here is that when you finish your drink, instead of bringing you another glass with your refill, they collect all the glasses, 4 empty glasses of tea for example, and then return with them full and just randomly give a glass to each guest. Ummm, I have no idea whose backwash is in my cup, but the green stuff floating in it was from nothing I ate, seriously, but maybe it is from one of the other guests. Notice that I said that the food is good? Good food but poor service is not why people dine out. We go to enjoy the experience with loved ones and friends, etc. Once appetizer for about $20 has just removed from this business a few thousand dollars a year from us. So, was it really worth it? Is anyone listening? But this embarrassing exchange that our guest suffered has slammed the door shut on this place for us. We will not go back.

On Sunday, January 12, 2016, my family and I dined in your restaurant. Sadly, this was the second time our experience as a family has been awful. It seems when a couple goes in to dine, as my parents often do, the service is fine, but when a large party comes in to dine the party size is too large to deal with (we were a party of 9). What makes matters worse is that I called to speak with a manager on Monday and I am still waiting to hear back from them. The server on the phone was condescending and shifted blame for the lack of service because we ordered the $25 all you can eat special. The total bill was over $325 and I would like to state that multiple members of our party did not order excessively but actually quite modestly (my niece only eats chicken and rice and we still happily paid the $25 cover as the rules state). First, if the staff or the restaurant does not want to cater to people who order this special for their own reasons then such special should not be offered. The complaint we have is not about the price but for the lack of service including not taking people’s beverage orders (people in my family drink alcohol), un-timely appetizer order, food was served cold and over cooked and when my brother arrived he was not greeted for over 15 minutes. When I sent back my over cooked tuna the server looked at me like I was crazy. I ordered some steak instead, which took an extremely long time to come out and was again over cooked. My family was celebrating my graduation and we wanted to have a nice dinner. The time we spent with one another was nice, but the service was lacking and repeating a similar experience we had last year. We will not be returning to your restaurant. To anyone reading this, there is a new Hibachi grill which just opened by the Kroger next to Lantana. I would suggest giving them your business, as Mt Fuji seems to be unappreciative to patrons. As a person who has worked in multiple restaurants and has bartended I say shame on you. Shame on your staff for trying to make my family feel the lack of good food and service was because we ordered off of a special the restaurant offers but the staff is obviously against.

We will never sit at the hibachi again. What they dont tell you is if you dont have 8 people with you, then you will be seated next to strangers in an awkward table placement until they fill the table. When we got there, we got seated next to another couple with a baby in the seats RIGHT next to them. We had just dropped our children off at the babysitter so it was not the evening we had planned. We then sat RIGHT next to them for 25 more minutes while they attempted to fill the table with other random people who they sat RIGHT next to us. When they finally decided that they had all the people they needed to start the meal, it was so strange because the 6 of us were all huddled on one side of the table with open seats on the other side. That would be fine if I knew these people, but I couldnt even talk to my husband because I felt like we would be excluding the others from conversation. We have gone back quite a few times and just sat in the dining room. You can order hibachi from the dining room which is a comfortable area. Usually the dining room service is extremely slow and they often forget they have customers over there, but it is much more comfortable than our hibachi table experience. Food is expensive, but good.

My visit was last night. First time there, made reservations a few days ago. Was seated immediately on arrival, served our drinks within 5 minutes of being seated. Apps were served fairly quickly, and was about half-way into my beer by the time the chef appeared at the hibachi. The fried rice was...not great but not bad, the steak I had was delicious and cooked perfectly. Veggies were good, sushi I had was excellent, with the tuna in particular being the best Id had in Texas. The hand roll was good but a little tough to eat. Service was excellent and the server very attentive to our drinks and needs of my 3 year old daughter too. VERY nice atmosphere. 4 stars in my book. Portions could have been larger, but was full when I left so that may not matter - good value for the price.

Iv been to this beautiful restaurant several times and everyone of them was delicious. They severs are great and the atmosphere is even better. There is typically live music on fridays and saturdays also. The people were quick AND precise. Now I work there as a hostess so I really know how things work. The kitchen is clean and organized so food is always great and the people are as nice as can be. I would truthfully recommend it to any one, even if they dont like sushi. The Hibachi chefs are super fun and the food is great too. If you dont want to sit next to strangers but you want hibachi you can still sit in the dining area and order hibachi, just without the show.
