The good- The food is authentic, which is hard to find. The food is also delicious and hits home in each of their dishes The BAD- Their portions are awful. For the price of each of the dishes you would definitely think they wouldnt scrimp on their portions. The staff becomes super defensive and almost rude if you ask for a change in an order. Conclusion- My personal opinion is that the food is not worth the money nor is it worth being treated like you commited a crime. Its just plain awkward! There is no flexibility with this place. I guess that goes for most Indian restaurants. Also it is so incredibly hard to communicate with the staff. Ask them a question and they look at you like youre speaking gibberish. Ask them what they would recommend and the answer is an awkward silence. However, that is not the problem with this restaurant. THE FOOD IS OVERPRICED, THE PORTIONS ARE SMALL, STAFF IS AWKWARD! If you are not a south Indian this restaurant is a waste of your time and money. Definitely think twice before you give this restaurant a try. There is a huge possiblity you might leave disappointed!

Good place to try authentic south Indian dishes. Has some really good Biryani (quite different from the popular Hyderabadi or Mugalai ) and rice based dishes.. Even the curries are different from the typical North Indian dishes served at few Indian restaurants that people are familiar with. The dishes use quite a bit of coconut based products which give it a distinct flavor and definitely worth enjoying. Place is a bit cramped, but has a pretty good ambiance with booths in one section to give you some privacy and peace. The dishes are a bit on the expensive side. (one can expect to spend around $30-40 on a scrumptious meal for two ) Been there number of times [both for dining at the restaurant, as well as attending the party in the adjacent hall] and had a good dining experience. Would definitely recommend this place if you want to try new dishes from India.

I used to go to this place with my family at least once in a month. I loved their way of service and good food. I had a very bad incident during my last visit, I asked water and straw for my son, service guy gave us the straw. My son was telling there is some smell coming from the straw then I noticed that is smoking smell. Service guy doesnt wash his hands after he smokes. I have seen that person only in the recent days. I would like to request the management to take some course of action on keeping smoke free environment. Anjappar is one of the good place to taste south indian chettinad style food. Because of this incident my family is strictly avoiding this restaurant.

The worst place to go if you want to eat a cooked, blood-free chicken. I ordered a chicken briyani and the chicken was raw inside. I showed the blood near bones to the waitress, she didnt know what to say, and when I asked to her to call the Manager, she said the Manager was busy and would tell about this later. The most unethical and unprofessional place, I wish this place runs out of business and closes down soon. Only professional, ethical people should run food business, otherwise it would cause sickness to the entire society and affect quality of life. There is no zero rating unfortunately, never go back list .

Initially if you guys expecting buffet, here there is NO buffet. Order will take around 20-30mins, so get prepared for waiting. The quantity is less, the taste is not great, the prices are huge. We ordered thali - wow, DONT go with it.. We tried chicken, mutton and fish thali.. None of them taste good.. All thalis are same except they give an extra bowl of ur special non-veg item, which sucks. Starter - we ordered chettinadu chicken pepper - well it has No salt and tastes gross If you want to try something new go ahead, if you want to have good food better be away from it.

I had to give atleast 1 star to be able post this review else it doesnt even deserve this one star and here is the reason - i ordered shrimp briyani on Friday as to go - reached home - served briyani and what i see is mutton bone pieces in it!!! what on earth you serving - do you even understand the meaning of Restaurant???? They just have one common base for all briyani and mix the meat as per order - which is so crappy. Request everyone to check their food and give it back if it doesnt meet the needs.Once again horrible. They will never get my business again.

Got a take out order.. Egg masala+(complimentary chapathi), mutton masala+(complimentary chapathi) and butter naan.. Reached home and realized that the mutton masala and all chapathis were missing.. Called back.. They didnt want to deliver the missing things.. But refunded for the mutton masala.. Complimentary chapathi for egg masala was.. well complimentary.. So no refund..But it didnt stop there.. Found a small chicken bone in the egg masala (would have been nice to have some meat on it), but makes me wonder where it came from)..

Horrible horrible service and cheating people. The food itself is very average. I ordered a takeout that included four parattas. They did not include any curry that their website says is part of the dish. When we asked about it, they tried to insist that it was our fault and we are wrong. Seriously? What kind of a business treats its customers like this? After we insisted and an said we can prove it from the website the hostess gave us two tiny cups as if she was doing us a charity. This is the last time I take my business here.

Sunday afternoon, moderately crowded and we were well received, seated and attended. They had roast deer for the days special and I had to try it. Wasnt disappointed at all. What surprised me was the tandoori roti, for all good reasons. Chettinad chicken masala was delightful. Now, getting to the real deal. I dont get the bill before a biriyani, ever, and this time it was mutton biriyani. Not bad, but uhhh, didnt quite get there. Overall, for the $$$, I didnt feel cheated. Oh and, Ill be back !

Food has nothing but spice covering under cooked food. Service horrible had to request them to take my order though they just few tables occupied. Poor service in getting food on time, serving and cleaning the table. Worst 15% tip is included by force and you have no choice. Be very careful before ordering so called delicacy, like Blue Crab curry, you have to crack a crab that is fully covered with curry, imagine your condition. Will never go again and I dont recommend anyone should go.

Here is the photo of chicken biryani which i received. Have no idea how can you even get so much oil in a biryani. Chaotic waiting area and severely shortstaffed. Orders getting messed up all the time, with servers returning and confirming orders multiple time. Table next to me got the main course before soup, fortunately i didnt ordered anything else apart from the messed up biryani. Two stars only for prompt seating and extra raita without any charge.
