I would like to preface this review by advising you that it is being written from the comfort of my master bathroom, where I have spent a majority of my evening. Dont get me wrong, this is quite better than the previous 20 hours that I spent with what started out as belches that were just outside of the range of uncontrolable, and smelled like gyro meat ... which is usually pleasant until it enters the digestive system. I soon forgot about the sulfur meat burps, as I was overtaken by waves of nausia, which I am sure the poor cleaning lady at the office appreciated while emptying my work trash.. I am however pleased to announce that very soon after, I was able to completely forget about the nausia, as the severe intestinal cramps made the nausia somewhat plesant..... But I digress. The food was hot and plentiful, the place was packed, and the service was great. If you like Mediterranean food, I can see the appeal of this place. I mean heck, Im sitting here having the flesh peeled away from my starfish by what can only be described as triple curry baba ganouch, and am considering how tasty the food was... I might go back, on a Friday evening, late in the day.... Maybe when my mother in law will be in.... ** Update. Went to ER next day. 6 hours with wonderful people... masochists... but wonderful people. Treat me for food poisoning, finally turned off the Tap that Afrah the crazy plumber installed in my sewage line, and was able to get the Olympic Style projectile vomiting to stop. .... the pain tho... *** its a week later... back to the ER. Have not been able to shaken the gastritis, pretty sure it was the baba ganouch... my friend didnt eat it, and hes fine... No jokes, just getting home at 12a. Could have happened to anyone.. glad it was me and not you. .. But seriously. .. Dr says a week of these new meds, and a few weeks of eating a bland lifeless diet.. and I should be okay. ... all for 14.99

Horrible experience.. I took my friend there and what a disappointment. First the lady said you can either have buffet or order from the menu.. So I said Ill go for buffet and my friend wanted to order from the menu.. They said you both have to order buffet or order from the menu.. So there goes our option.. Then we said ok lets have buffet.. The kabob, chicken and rice were stale seems like its been sitting and no one replaced it.. Then one of the servers came while we were picking our food and said, we will be closing the buffet in 15 min so get as much as you can.. I was like why then even gave us the option of eating. The original Afrah was much better and was also not over priced.. Since they opened the new location and also moved to new location in Richardson, their quality have gone done overall.. And became over priced. I will not go there again and not recommend anyone.. Also I noticed that their servers have real attitude problem.

Have been going to the original since 2002. Went to the new Irving location and it was very quiet. Two other tables were occupied and that was it. Ordered a couple starters and snacked on those while trying to figure out what my wife and I wanted. Ordered our food and waited and waited. Waitress comes and asks us if were ready for our check... Um, we didnt get our meal yet.. She goes and checks and says it should be out soon. Another waitress comes and I ask her if she can just pack it to go as we have had a long day. Its now been 28 minutes since we placed our order. The original waitress comes back and says I never wrote your order down... What?!? We ask for the check and are handed two pieces of baklava when we get the bill for our troubles. I can understand if its busy, stuff happens. There were two other tables occupied in the whole place. Cant say Ill be going back. Needs an urgent upgrade in staffing.

The irving location could improve its level of customer service. I felt the waiter David was a little rough around the edges from the begining and had a bit of an attitude with us when asking questions about the menu. We waited 25 to 30min for our food and the usually pita bread was not served prior to the meal. The waiter informed us a larger party was ahead of us but the resturant only had 4 tables at the time. Our drinks were not refilled until the end of the meal. When the food did arrive it was good except for the very large 4 pieces of garlic. Took them a long time to process payment. My husband and i have eaten at the afrah in richardson and it was a great experience with great food and great customer service. This location i hope will improve.

My new culinary love! First time at Afrahs just 20 minutes before closing time. David, the server, was so accommodating and wonderful at answering questions and making suggestions to what turned out a great dinning experience. Weve had plenty of Mediterranean food, but never such delicately balanced dishes as we did last night. From the Turkish coffee to the main courses and oh, the desserts! I passed on the Baklava, because of not wanting all that syrupy goo. David brought us a complimentary piece. I think I have truly savored baklava for the first time. We drove 3 hours to the airport. We will now travel that distance just for Afrah! Great job. Keep it up!

OVERPRICED for less quality food overall. My family and I ordered four entrees. Shish Tawouk with Kabsa Rice and Fatoush. Beef Shawarma with Vermicelli Rice and Hummus. Beef Shish Kebab with Kabsa Rice and Baba Ganoush. Gyro with Kabsa Rice and Hummus. The One Thing we Liked was their Pistachio Gelato and Arabic Gelato. My family doesnt plan to ever return due to the high prices because we have been to excellent Arabic Restuarants in DFW that serve the same portions and larger portion sizes for a Much Cheaper price per entree, per wrap, sandwich, appetizers, khubz and homemade Arabic Soups All much better Quality.

I took my wife and my two sisters to eat dinner. It took the waiters 7 min to wipe the dirty table . The waitress acted like " omg, order already "!!!. The food was halfway cooked actually the onions were absolutely not cooked , they picked them from the fridge to the plate. When I asked the waitress she said" O they come like that " this is a crock of BS. My beef shawarma sandwich was cold and a full of cold beef fat!! I can guarantee you that I will never step foot in this place again period. The level of service was the worst ever . I put 1 star cause there no zero star option!! What a shame!!!!

$12 for lunch buffet drink included is all you ever need!!! this is the perfect lunch! They have a buffet stand for cold items and then hot items. All the meat varies from lamb kabob, chicken, gyro, and tilapia. All are DELICIOUS and your money is worth it already! I usually get beets, cauliflower, and hummus for sides. I didnt care too much for cold items but the hot ones were the bomb!!! Desserts varies from chocolate mousse, fruits, and orange custard. I didnt care for chocolate mousse because the texture was thick and grainy. Stick to the fruits and the orange custard!
