ok first of all i love chinese food and i eat at chinese places all the time. personally im tired of people gettin mad when they go to chinese places and always expect the american version of chinese cuisine!! Jade Palace has great chinese food. they give you huge portions of everything. Their dinner for 2 feeds a family of 6 ( i know because my family consists of myself, my daughter, my mother, 2 teenage bothers and my father). We all leave full and with some to take home. When my husband and i go to other chinese places he always orders crab puffs and he absolutly loves the ones from jade palace. My favorite is their ribs, to die for!! i have also worked in a chinese restaraunt and ive done a walk through of jade palace. let me tell you people that think jade palace is dirty, yu dont know what dirty is. They are one of the cleanist chinese places i know of besides the high class ones. Jade Palace is great. As for the people that dont like the interior, maybe you should be in a different part of town. Jade Palace is very homie and pleasant. Do you not like their wall paintings? why because they didnt americanize it for you? i love the painted table tops. they provide great service. the wonton soup is delicious. they cram the bowl full of wontons and onions where as alot of places give you one or two wontons per a bowl and you have to ask for the extras like the onions. I have been going to jade palace my entire life, my mother has been going to jade palace her whole life, my daughter is a jade palace baby. You should definatly try it at least once.

I have been eating at Jade Palace since 1978 or 1979 when my folks used to bring my brothers and I from Houston to the Piney Woods on weekends. I grew up eating there. Since then, I have been all over the United States, lived in California, Japan and Korea, and I have yet to find Chinese food that equals Jade Palace on most of their menu items. Like most people have said, the egg rolls are the best anywhere. I have been there and just ordered a buffet of egg rolls and left. The shrimp chop suey is also amazing. I took my fiance there, and she was skeptical, but now she cannot get enough. Every chance we get, we go there. All of these bad reviews I see makes me wonder what they consider to be good Chinese-American food, or perhaps they are employed by rival restaurants...and where did they learn grammar?...Anyway, all I can say to their groaning is; Jade Palace was the very first Chinese restaurant in Humbles history. It has been open since Humble was a small town, and it is still going strong. Go there and order the egg rolls, crab rangoon and pork spare rips as appetizers, and you will see how the rest of the meal will turn out. Then come and write your feedback.

I cant think of one good reason to eat here. Theres another Chinese food place nearby thats much better. I made the mistake of coming here just to try it out. I regret. The inside of this place looks like a prison. No windows. I guess its ok if youre trying to bring a date here you dont ever want anybody to know about because the dining room was empty when I walked in and pretty much stayed that way - sure sign the place is not good. the walls have visible stains from water leaking down in places and staining. When you walk in the front door, it looks like youre in the back of the kitchen. In a word, grimy. And the dining room also serves as extra chair storage and theres even a dirty dish drop off cart in plain view to make sure everybody has a good chance of getting grossed out. the nicest thing about the decor is the fish tank. The food was just OK (barely), pretty bland and served in a very large portion. Curry chicken is not supposed to be bland. Positive notes: The waitstaff was very attentive and nice.

LOL. I love the haters claiming that the owners are writing their own reviews. I seriously doubt it. They dont strike me as all that tech-savvy, especially given that in close to 40yrs, they have not managed to install a soda fountain. If you want buffett crap with other peoples kids germs in it, by all means, go across the street to the mega-Chinamerican-faux-sushi place with the "cheesecake" from a box mix. If you want big tasty eggrolls and authentic fried rice, go to Jade Palace. In spite of the fact that they serve hot cans of soda with a glass of ice, the iced tea is usually good, the place is packed at lunch & does a roaring take out business. If the food was not good, they would not have survived this long. Jade takeout is a staple of my tax season survival plan. You can disagree, but there is no need to impugn the integrity of local business owners. #shopsmall

Ive been eating at this establishment for over 30 years and i have NEVER have eaten at an more exquisite and more importantly their dishes have never ever changed in 30 years plus...The eggrools have actually chunks of shrimp in them and are as big around or bigger than a silver dollar...Good steaks ..but the best entree and the most intriguing experience is their Scallops and Beef...Definitely a delicious and enjoyable dish just to be served to you , then you may taste my most favorite dish...a little pricey but well worth every bit..every dish is well prepared for I have a problem deciding what I want ..from the sweet and sour to the pressed chicken to the shrimp fried rice..they hold nothing back on portions and if money is being budgeted then you cant go wrong with the combination plates...

Its alright , the only thing I like about this place are the egg rolls and short ribs other than that, this place needs to be remodeled its been open since way before I was born I am 27 so Imagine how unsanitary this place has to be inside the kitchen place needs some remodeling wonder when it will close down. If they do, hope they close to remodel then reopen. My mom loves this place but me personally wouldnt be my 1st option to eat out from here. Egg roles are the best but other than that I feel like I am eating rat. By the way my mom always asks me to go with her because the lady in the front is pretty rude so she always feels like she wants me there to defend her lol poor mom, but you shouldnt feel like that at any restaurant.

The place is not the best as far as a sit down dining experience, but the food more than makes up for the ambience of the restaurant. The Egg Rolls are the best you will find in Houston. The lunch menu has a large selection of dishes that include soup and an egg roll. The chow mein is authentic chinese, and not too many chinese restaurants even offer it anymore. If you are looking for all you can eat steam table food this is not your place. But if you are looking for quality authentic chinese food then you cant go wrong here. Its too bad the owners dont renovate the dining area,... the interior is rundown and tired, which I think makes a lot of these reviews less attractive to a reader, but again the food is good!!!
