I would eat all the things here! ALL THE THINGS!!! Visited this place several times just to make sure it was really as good as it was the first time. Decor is slick and very mid century modern. Hard surfaces and open spaces with a loungy bar. Open kitchen concept is a great thing and I like how they designed it into the concept. If you sit close enough and its a little slow you can see your food being crafted. It will get that busy loud noise so if you dig that style then you will be all about it. -Potted Swordfish is like a decedent fish spread. I get it every time because it is very unique to this place. -Rib eye Meatballs...yes. Truly though its the sauce that makes it happen. -Baccala Brandade you cannot go wrong because it is bacon. Bacon is just delicious. -Any duck dish. Still think its a trend all over but I like how I dont have to go to Chinatown to have well prepared duck. Drinking here is pretty awesome. It is a U shaped bar with the drink slingers are really cool conversationalists. - I had the Tiger Blood drink as a throwback to when Charlie Sheen had a melt down. It wasnt what I expected. - The Long Island will knock you down if you had a couple. Not too sure about the mix but otherwise ok. - The Rusty Nail is a little sweet for me but then again there is Dram in it. - Irish Coffee is really the perfect apertif here - Wine selection is good. Maybe it expands in due time. When they are busy they really busy. Expect long wait times when you dont have a plan of attack. I would suggest catching a seat at the bar if you are just two people. it is going to facilitate everything and you will have a better experience. I look forward to my next visit.

Saturday night, not extremely busy. Dinner with friends, ordered appetizers, mains and dessert, as well as drinks. All the food presentation was gorgeous, however it seemed like more time was spent on making it look pretty than necessary. Of the appetizers, the beef tartar and ribeye meatballs were exceptional, the fried cauliflower was enjoyed by others, but not really to my taste. Mains ordered were the pizza special of the day for some, and I had a seafood pasta with scallops and shrimp. The pasta sauce was extremely rich and decadent. Too many scallops, not enough actual pasta. The Pizza was ok, nothing to write home about. Salted caramel ice cream for shared dessert and carrot cake. Both were good, but not really special. Nothing you need to go out of your way for. This review gets 3 stars for a couple of reasons. (1) Overpriced. $200 for dinner for 2 was a bit much compared to the portion sizes. (2) focus seemed to be more on presentation than balance. For example, not enough bread with the tartar or enough pasta with the main, despite ample seafood. If this had of been a $120 meal for two, would easily give it 4 stars... but the price point sinks it.

I really like it here! The food is delicious and so are the cocktails- these arent your run of the mill cocktails either. And, I think the location rocks.... and the parking is awesome! They have a pretty big lot there! I would definitely go back. Its a fun/ useful mix of food, cocktails, and desserts, and none of them are lacking. It does get busy though. I took one star away because of price/ value. The prices are about what youd expect ($10/ cocktail) but some things you get a lot better value than other menu items.... for example- donuts- great value- 3 donuts for $5. The breads are DELICIOUS but we only got 4 small slices for the $8 or $9 price but with plenty of extra topping. Everyone looked pretty nice when we went here at 830 on a Friday night. I agree with some other reviewers that the service could be a little better; I had to wait for quite a while at our table to place a drink order at one point.

We went for the first time last Saturday night. The friends we went with called ahead to put us on the wait list. We got there at approx 7:15 after the 6:30 call to put us on the wait list. We then waited an additional HOUR in the restaurant, read: nearly 2 hours total while still calling ahead. I am loath to try them again until they "cool off." Their current attitude about their wait times was poor, and while they have mismanaged only our partys wait, they needed to own up to their mistake with a peace offering, however small. We watched tables sit empty for up to 10 minutes before being reseated. We watched 4 tops seated with 2 people while we FOUR waited. Once they get this worked out, we may return. The food was great. The drinks were fine, and our waiter was very "with it." However none of it was really worth the wait.

This places hours and options of types of service are kind of confusing....this review is for late night and for the bakery: Open til 2am (nice to have a place open "late" in Houston that is not house of pies - aint nothing wrong with HOP but nice to have a different atmosphere option). After 10pm, only bar service and only pizzas for food. Pizzas arent as great as Piola or Dolce Vita, but very good for a non-Italian restaurant that isnt specializing in pizza. They are Italian style - thinner charred crust cooked in wood fire grill (saw a reviewer say they are "soggy" - thats how they do it in the place where pizza was invented!). Bakery is delicious! Get a loaf of bread for the week from here instead of that fake, processed, sugar filled stuff that passes for bread at the grocery store, you wont regret it!

Went for brunch today. Could not decide what I wanted so I ordered the polenta and French toast. The polenta was amazing the French toast was average. My son ordered the chicken and donuts and said it was a little too sweet for him, but he doesnt do sugar very often. I thought they were wonderful. He is a coffee connoisseur and thought the coffee was phenomenal! Atmosphere was nice and they offer mocktails, which I love. Staff was very helpful. Strawberry jam and sauce were extremely tasty. I love the way the bill was presented comma in a cassette holder. For those of you that dont know what that is you can google it. Went back again during kitchen closed hours, that I didnt know, they only serve at the bar, but the food was, as usual, amazing. Carrot pizza, russet chips and the Quinta Hotel. All fabulous!

My new favorite place, hands down! Came tonight for their first official opening with some friends and ended up stuffed from too much food. The food was so good that we kept ordering more and more of it. The foie gras was my favorite, followed by the bacallao, then the rib meatballs. We ordered a few more small dishes including the carrot pizza, which at first did not sound appetizing, but upon the servers (Adam) recommendation, we gave it a shot. It was delicious. My friends had pina coladas to drink and I had a small room bourbon based drink. All were great. For dessert, my friend ordered a scoop of ice cream and I ordered the semolina cake...the perfect ending to this gastronomical journey. The service was impeccable. I cannot wait to return.
