I had high hopes for this store when it was being built, as the closest ones for me were at 290 in Cypress or 249 and Louetta. Unfortunately, while its not a bad store per se, its not nearly so great as the other HEBs Ive been to. The selection is rather poor (items I know the other stores carry are entirely absent from this location, from sausage to peanut butter to dairy products) and the produce seem to be second tier - many of the items seem to be in rougher shape than Ive come to expect from HEB. The coupons and deals are still present, but the items involved in the best deals tend to be tough to locate or poorly stocked - even when an employee is helping you locate them, often they turn out to be sold out or entirely absent. For being closer to home, its far more convenient to go to this location than the others, but it seems every time I regret the decision - something is sold out, missing, or otherwise unavailable. They reorganized the store after theyd been there for a few months, but the selection didnt notably improve. I really think they need more space to be able to offer what the other HEBs Im familiar with do, and unless they manage to do that theyre likely to continue to disappoint.

When they were building it I was so excited. Its closer than the one on Louetta & 249. After going several times, I am deeply disappointed. No bulk health food area, nor bulk coffee. Bread is rarely fresh. Although I have heard the n-word uttered by a white person at the Louetta location, heard it at this one too. They cant control customers in the parking lot tho. Racist are everywhere. But the last straw that made me decide to be done with this store was when I went in to take advantage of the 2 for $6 salmon deal. I wanted to try the sweet herb. Went over to the seafood area, inside the glass with the fish and on the glass were flies. Several large ones. One was chilling right on top of the sweet herb salmon. The worker just acted like it was normal and offered to package a piece for me. Ew! No thanks! :( I have lived all over Houston and have not been this disappointed in an HEB since Scott and OST. I can understand them having the issues they have, its right in the hood, but what I dont get is why Gulfgate (which isnt that much of an upgrade from 3rd ward) has a better HEB than a northern suburb.

I go there 2 times a week, and always hang out at the meat dept. Very recently, 2-3 weeks ago, I started smelling chlorine, which is unusual after these many years at this store. I thought there was a mess on the floor and they had to clean up. But no, it was just around the chicken area. The smell of bleach of the chicken legs packs was so strong you could smell it from outside the package. Too long in the "anti-bacteria" bath? Bad batch for a couple of days in a row, but nobody noticed, no employee reported it? Foodtown across the street is 10c per Lb cheaper and does not smell bleach. Now the SHRIMPs taste like bleach, too. AWFUL!!!

I am actually going to another store due to the way I have been treated the last two times. They check things so dast that all the items build up at the end and get smushed. My bananas, my bread, my chips all get crushed from them just barreling through the check out. Then I was having trouble with the card reader and the guy seemed like he could care less to help me, even though he said it had been happening all day. Will not return for grocery shopping day, maybe just to grab some milk or Redbox.

The cashier at cash register 1 named Daniel was rude. When I was inserting my credit card in the payment terminal it was popping out for no reason, which I didnt face in any other payment terminal. The cashier was showing how impatient he was becoming and he was giving me instructions with an attitude. I told him something is probably wrong with the machine and he very rudely said its my card. I have been using this card every day I never had problems till now.

I ordered a half chocolate half white cake with Elite frosting on a Friday and picked it up the following afternoon. This was for a last minute party. I didnt know what to expect ( Im gluten intolerant so I havent had their cake) Everyone loved the cake & kept asking where I purchased it. This was a half sheet that served approx. 45 people . Including the Batman decor the cost was $28.00. I will definitely order another cake for my next party.

I was just accused of stealing from this HEB after putting my groceries in my car. A woman runs up to my car window and DEMANDS I tell her who checked me out. Apparently the person who checked me out forgot to put stickers on the things I bought because I didnt want to waste plastic bags and forgot my cloth bags. I am incredibly offended and will not be shopping at this HEB anymore.

I usually have have great experience here but today it was awful. I waited 30-35 minutes for the associate in the floral department to help me blow up some balloons i asked several people but it seemed as if they did not know what to do. I finally went around till i found a manager.

False advertising. Unprofessional evening shift manager (Anithy was her name). She treated us like we were there begging for stuffs. She needs more coaching on her management skills. She had worst customer service skills ever! She run the whole store like her family business.

The staff is great. They are friendly and helpful. If you cant locate an item and ask, he or she will usually walk you right to it depending on how busy they are. I shop here all the time. Always an enjoyable experience. They keep this store very clean. Great job people!!!

Love HEB! This is a great location, always clean, friendly staff. I have even witnessed on two occasions how their employees have handled rude customers with finesse and kindness, something that I find rare in the service industry these days. We never shop anywhere else.

I really enjoy the coupons that they have under certain items. Very nice vegetable and fruit selection. However, this location doesnt have certain basic items. I went in for Yoplait a large container of vanilla yogurt, and they didnt carry it.

This HEB has all the basics, but I definitely prefer the other on 249 and Louetta. The other location has a much bigger selection of produce and other po products. For quick buys I go here, but for full grocery buys I go to the other location.

We have always had a great experience with HEB. They did mess up my daughters bday cake, bc it was graduation time and they were so busy- but the Bakery manager was SO NICE & refunded money and apologized over and over.
