Rebecca Mason is by far the worst manager/owner that Ive ever come across in the service industry. Today we went out to celebrate a birthday and decided to visit a nearby bakery in midtown. We had outside visitors from New York and Dallas and wanted to take them to a local place to enjoy some treats. The moment we walked into Rebeccas pastry bar her face went completely numb! It was 7 of us and 1 toddler. My child has never been to a pastry store so I was super excited for her. Rebecca NEVER greeted us and we literally had to force her to engage in us while we were ordering. We told her we had never been their and expressed that it was our first time. She stood at the ordering section with one arm extended on the counter while the other dangling to her side. CLEARLY we had interrupted her lunch which was fried chicken and biscuits. How did we know she was eating lunch? Easy- her food was laid out in a complete mess on the tables in the front of the store. So when we walked in thats what she was doing- eating. Of course she had a friend with her, but I guess when youre the owner and a world renowned pastry "chef" its expected that your customers witness you stuffing your face with greasy chicken. She was completely uninterested in serving us. She was totally disconnected with every question that we brought to her. We asked what type of coffees did she serve and what was the most popular and she just pointed to the menu and said what ever is up their. We wanted a shake that was on the menu and with an attitude she said she didnt have vanilla ice cream. As we continued to try to give her a chance to treat us like paying customers she grew upset and annoyed and started to become disrespectful. She proceeded to ask us if we wanted anything else. You would have thought she had others in line but no. We were the only people in the store. So why were we rushed? The birthday girl felt very uncomfortable and requested that we leave. We waited for our friend to finish preparing her coffee. As that happened the other sister wondered why we werent ordering anything and when we told her she agreed that Rebecca had an attitude or a concern about serving us so she asked to just have her money back and we will go elsewhere. To a place where we are welcomed. At that point before we could even leave the store Rebecca was already siting back down engaging in her fried chicken. Our friend mentioned that she felt as though we were being treated differently to another worker and Rebecca heard her. So she stood up and confronted her with the worst tone and attitude that Ive ever experienced. Her body language said it all. We honestly thought Rebecca was going to hit our friend so we walked back into the store to stop things from escalating. Thats when Rebecca began to get loud and demand that she left and to never return. We wanted to just leave the items and Rebecca insisted that we took them and tried to throw them along with the receipt at us. What a complete embarrassment to our friends. I hope I have the chance to go back to her store and tell someone in person about our experience.

Got here as soon as I could this weekend, after just opening last week it was not as overwhelmingly crowded as I expected it to be. Apparently Saturday mornings and early afternoon are the calm before the storm in this midtown strip. The visibility into the kitchen is a great way to enter the space and grow excitement for the treats to come. The selection was vast and difficult to choose just one. Its true that I didnt have to choose just one, but I wanted to save some reasons to come back! I ended up sharing the Veruca Salt cake with my girlfriend, it was delicious. Other items at my table were the Couch Potato cookie and the Carrot Cake. Both incredible options. I would recommend any of the above. The space is light and bright and comfortable. The service was helpful and knowledgeable. I cannot wait to return for an indulgent evening and have a glass of wine with my dessert.

We walked in and the MANAGER gave me the worst service I have ever had at a public place!! I came in to try a new dessert place with my friends and family and this is by far the very worst place. The manager was rude and had a negative demeanor the second we came in. She was very rude and sarcastic everytime we asked a question about the menu! The cookies and other menu options are all very dry and old looking and they are clearly not prepared for more than one customer at a time! Please dont waist your time on this spot.. Def. Not worth it. We ended up walking down to Cocos crepes and desserts and it was awesome!!! Great service, great food!! :-) :-) It is so sad to see that the owner is willing to go back and forth with a customer in a negative way instead of trying to create a great experience for each customer..

Family, friends, and I went to visit and experience their treats for the first time. My sister and I went to ask the woman at the counter a few questions about the menu. Her answers were very short. Her attitude seemed as though she didnt want to service us. A few others within my group acknowledged this due to her body language. My group decided this wasnt the place for us and began to exit the establishment. This is when things took a turn for the worst. I told the woman **Rebecca** that her disposition lead to us not wanting to support the store. Her response was "well, this is me!" Feeling displeased I asked for a refund. She told me to get out her store, NEVER return, threw my recipe at me, even tried to throw my refunded items at me. This place is a NO GO!!! Stay far away, especially from REBECCA!!!!

A little bit hard to find(just go right past bagby street, its on the left), but I was happy when I arrived. I walked in around 12:30 pm expecting a crowded space, but to my surprise no one was there. A man politely greeted me and helped me choose a dessert (sadly they were out of the verruca salt cupcake), by I got a couch potato and pumpkin whoopie pie. The couch potato had good flavor, but was kind of dry and seemed old. The whoopie however was AMAZING! If you like that cinnamon pumpkin taste in a moist cake with smooth cream filling, I highly recommend! Service was nice, pretty average price (cheap-y, $2-3 for cookies, $5 for cupcakes/cake), and nice seating, so I will give it a 4.5/5. Stay in stock though!

As soon as our group (5 women and 2 men) stepped into the establishment. A workers (Rebecca) attitude immediately changed and turned sour. Her answers were short and did not even attempt to smile or be friendly. Even after someone bought something it did not change and furthermore it got worse after the customer asked for a refund. This was on a Sunday afternoon with no other customers in line. One would think if 7 potential customers come into an empty place one would try to give at the least decent customer service, but Rebecca did the complete opposite. Rebecca even told us to not return ever again. Its tough to find good people but its easier to let unfriendly, terrible service givers go.
