I did have an excellent buffalo burger, but the rest of our visit there was horrible. First of all, there are NO PRICES ON THE MENU. You find out how much your lunch is after you order and they ring it up. Second, the grapes in my fruit salad were old and wrinkly, and Im hoping that white spot on one of them was a bit of aioli from my burger and not mold. Third, the service is arrogant, rude and inexcusably disorganized! We went at lunch with a group. My co-worker also ordered the buffalo burger and the lemonade, and asked at the register and was told he could get free refills on the lemonade. He and two other people in our group waited more than 20 minutes after the rest of us got our food, and some were already finishing their meals. After waiting for 15 minutes he asked for a refill on his lemonade, and was told in a certain tone by the bartender "well we dont NORMALLY do that but JUST THIS ONCE Ill refill it for you." Finally after waiting 20-25 minutes and seeing several other burgers go by with the server to other tables, I got up and asked the manager where there food was, and was told flatly that buffalo burgers take a long time to make. Never mind I had the same thing 20 minutes earlier and our two friends had sandwiches they were waiting on - she didnt care. Then, as we were about to depart, one of us went up to pick up a couple of chocolate chip cookies to go. The guy in line in front of him ordered six cookies. When it was my friends turn, he was told he would have to wait for 10 to 15 minutes because they were fresh out of the oven and "too warm to box up." Ummm I have baked many a choc chip cookie at home and fresh out of the oven is the best time to eat them! What is wrong with you Tiny Boxwoods? We left without our cookies and were never coming back.

Went for breakfast. Waited in line, mostly outside in the cold for 20 minutes to order food and sit down at a table. The menu doesnt have many things on it that sound very appetizing for breakfast. The hipster menu consists of items that are more like decorations than actual food. If you are looking for a classic breakfast like fried eggs, bacon, biscuits, pancakes, breakfast sausage, or gritts, you wont find it here. The tab was $38 (not including tip) for my fiance and I. We ordered 2 House Migas plates, a coffee, a cappuccino, and a small pastry. The portion was tiny just like the name of the place implies. It was literally a small handful of scrambled eggs with a few pieces of tortilla strips sprinkled on top. No sides. It would have been nice to have black beans, bacon, and/or guacamole to go along with the miniature serving of scrambled eggs. I just left Tiny Boxwoods and will be going home to eat again as Im still very hungry. The eggs were fine but honestly, how hard is it to scramble some eggs. The coffee was stale and had bad flavor. Thoroughly disappointed and will never go back. Absurdly overpriced especially for the portion you get. I guess maybe they jack up the price because they label the ingredients as organic? Are the eggs actually farm raised? Am I healthier for having eaten such an organic and hip breakfast? I sure dont feel healthy. I feel like I am starving or otherwise suffering from nutrient deficiency. Looking back it seems silly for people to stand in line for that long for that experience. Maybe lunch or dinner is better but I cant imagine it being worth the money.

Went here for brunch on a Sunday late-morning, so the wait was to be expected. The prices are high for what is served, but then again, it is also to be expected due to the area. I had the migas which were cold, wet, soggy, and bland. The bottomless mimosas were good if you can even get one. I had my dish and then waited 10-minutes until I went up to the bar where they discarded me because I had to have proof that I ordered it. Mind the barkeep that I had my number stand with me at the time, I thought that wouldve sufficed. One of the waiters finally brought one out for me and I asked him If I would have to again go up to the bar to notify someone of needing service. He said "of course not, we will be around providing drinks and service for you". 10-minutes later, I had to once again go back to the bar and ask for another mimosa. I asked if I could instead have a carafe since I knew it would take an eternity to get any type of service at this place. The waiter told me that it was ILLEGAL for him to give me a carafe. In no way am I an alcoholic, Im just addicted to having good service. This place had absurdly sub-par service. I was really looking forward to finding a new bunch place, I was severely disappointed.

Great little brunch/lunch bakery and cafe. The setting is a little oasis amongst the concrete jungle. Calming and seductive plant life surrounds you. There are appx 10-12 tables inside and the roughly equivalent out. Menu is simple and short, which I like. Lets me know each dish is carefully crafted and executed well. The cookies were ridiculous. I would have purchased more had I known the addiction they would create. Worth the 35 minute wait in line just for these alone. So. Freaking. Good. My only hangup was the cinnamon roll. It was very good, but the icing was pretty heavy on the sugar. I know, I know. Its a cinnamon roll. Its supposed to be sweet. This icing was super sugar forward compared to most. But, again, it was my only hangup and I ended up eating the whole freaking plate sized roll anyway. So not discounting any points here. Our lunch sandwiches were excellent. I could eat the turkey avocado every day and not get sick of it. The beet black bean burger paired perfectly with the pickles and jalepenos. There are two local/regional beers on tap, a number of wines, and some light cocktails. We will be going back very soon.

I had an incredible experience at tiny boxwood, we were greeted by two incredibly sweet host that made us feel welcomed from the start. We are young adults, and often get treated with less attention (but that was not the case here). They were tentive from start to finish. We sat outside and the heaters were on which made it really cozy on a cold night. Our waiter, Zach, was excellent and recommended plates we loved! ( we had: the 6oz buffalo filet with blue cheese, and the lamb burger. The lamb burger is definitely shareable and the Buffalo is good for one person) We had cappuccinos and they were delicious! I highly recomment this place for their staff, environment and food! Tiny boxwood also owns Tiny no.5 (priced is similar but offer more expensive plates). Next to Tiny NO. 5 is the tiny Milk& cholocate and they serve desserts!

If I were to describe my perfect brunch patio, Tiny Boxwoods would be it. The cutest and I meant cutest place in the River Oaks area. The lines are ridiculously long but if you are willing to wait for a table, you will not regret it. Keep in mind Houston is notorious for disgustingly hot weather so you will have to endure the heat for a table, but one you get past the wait, you are on your way for a good time. My friend let me try her beautifully prepared sangria. I immediately regretted not getting one for myself. Its one of the best sangrias Ive had outside of Spain. Its THAT good. I also tried the mothers breakfast which was ok. There are better options on their menu. After your meal you can peruse the garden where they sell plants and things. Its a cute date if you are looking to impress a girl.
