Service was crap! Umm yeah the only breakfast items I saw was an egg sandwich a blt and poached salmon and eggs. No French toast or anything that was posted earlier. Guy that initially greeted me was rude. I told him it was my first time there and after that his tone turned into sarcastic and impatient. I said Id like a breakfast cocktail and he said his bartender doesnt come in til 10.....and all he could make were high ball drinks and mimosas...I said ok great Id like a mimosas.....he never rung me up for it and I never got it. The scrambled eggs on rye is not as great as it seems..... its a glorified egg sandwich..... thats about $7.... nothing to it...Im fact Ive made better at home. The "water bar" was melted ice water that you make yourself. Thats crap. Also.... heres a biggie....it says it has a NOLA feel to it... ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT!!!! No New Orleans feel or vibe whatsoever.....not even the music! More geared towards confused businessmen and wannabe hipsters....an absolute fail for me.

Horrible Lunch Experience!!! My wife and I went for lunch 12/20 we seat at the bar and place our order red beans n rice bowl, shrimp poboy with maque choux Waitress comes back to tell us they are out of Maque Choux so I replaced it with gumbo then she comes back to tell us they are out of gumbo n red beans and rice. So wife orders burger n I order po boy and fries. 30 minutes later we are still waiting on our food ask the watiress where is our food she said she is sorrybut they only have one person in the kitchen not sure how n why they run a restaurant this qay very inefficient and unprofessional!!! Cant rate the food because I didnt get a chance to taste it but based on the service poor experience you get way better service at fast food chain that this place dont waste your time trying this restaurant out plenty of more choices around. Tree Beards Barnabys Chipotle etc.

Summary: Honeymoon is a Speakeasy with friendly staff and a mild atmosphere.... and great coffee! I visited the Honeymoon Cafe & Bar a few weeks ago for a friends surprise birthday party and it did not disappoint. They allowed us to bring in a cake and reserved a few tables for us to serve it. Honeymoon has a decent food menu, delicious coffee (my cup of drip coffee was very good) and unique cocktails. A bartender helped me select cocktails (more than once) and I was very happy with the results. If you decide to visit this bar look for Arie, a blonde and short-haired bartender. Arie was very sociable and kind. I did not know what kind of coffee cocktail I wanted; she was very patient in assisting me with my selection. We stayed late and had a fantastic time. Of course we headed for late night pizza afterwards.

No, I dont think so. The cocktails are underwhelming. Im not impressed. The gin and tonic like drink (Corpse Reviver #2) was flat, mediocre, not bad, not good, meh, could be better drink. I prefer going to bad news or pastry wars (yum!), but they were all packed and this place was not. It was not packed for good reasons. They offer food, but their kitchen closed at a certain time and not to mention they close at midnight while the rest of the strip closes arounnd 2AM-3AM. That is just bad logistics on their part. I may return to try their food, but if their food is like their cocktails then the place needs to be revamped. I heard their coffee/coffee cocktails is good, but who the heck drink coffee at 11PM-12AM? Its a better idea if they just wanted to be a coffee shop that closes at 9PM.

Stopped in here for a quick drink before catching the train to the museum district on Friday. It was around 6:30pm and there was hardly anybody inside, which meant we had our pick of seats, a nice plus. There are a variety of seating areas, including soft lounge chairs and sofas, plenty of bar seats, tables on the patio, and bar tables inside. For the lack of business at the time, it took a while to be greeted and served. Fortunately, once we were, the bartender was friendly and helpful in answering our cocktail inquiries. The cocktails are all prohibition classics. They were fresh, complex and satisfying. I was interested in many of the food menu items and particularly in the desserts. I cannot wait to return and tempt my sweet tooth with one or two!

Great setup here at The Honeymoon. This cozy cafe and bar is in a fairly large space smack dab in the middle of the 300 block of Main (Main and Congress for the non-downtown visitors). The Honeymoon sets itself apart from the rest of the downtown bar scene as they evolve throughout the day. The morning is all about the coffee (roasted in house, as well). Espresso, Cortado, Americano..anything you want a long side a small breakfast menu. By noon, theyre catering to the lunch crowd with delicious sandwiches and bites to hold you over to phase 3: Cocktails. The extensive cocktail menu is on par with the best of them downtown. Definitely worth a visit to go check out this unique establishment.

Initially planned on having a birthday dinner here and made reservations with the events manager. Mailed out about 25 handwritten invites. a week before when my fiancé was about to place the order for the dinner to pay in advance he was notified that a larger wedding party booked the entire restaurant and we could be reschedule for any other day. So my birthday is only one day of the year. Cant choose another birthday. I gracefully, heated, bowed out and found another venue. We ended up going back a month later to just try out the food and drinks and I enjoyed myself a lot. Wish my family and friends could have enjoyed the Honeymoon. But next time.

What an adorable place. Ive heard good things so I decided to finally check it out. We came on a Saturday morning for brunch. The freshly baked pastries fill the air. We sat right by the window and had a great view of some downtown establishments. I had one of their coffee drinks and boy are they strong! It had a shot of espresso so I would prepare yourself for a caffeine shock. I ordered the smoked salmon plate with poached eggs on top of an english muffin. I personally am not the biggest fan of the poached eggs but those that are will enjoy the plate. I will definitely come back to try the pastries and full menu.

Im glad theyre here. Thank goodness I can get Boomtown Coffee without smelling like an ashtray. (What is it with that place!?) Nice, limited food menu, which is good for lunch. Shockingly kale-free (it really looks like a kale-y place) but they do have quinoa (it really looks like a quinoa-y place). I havent dropped in for cocktails yet, but my hunch is that their attention to detail will serve them well. Im looking forward to trying their real juice hurricane, but that may have to wait for a legit "night out" as it seems a bit much for a quick drink after work.

I love Honeymoon for evening cocktails and even more for brunch! You MUST try the French toast, it is the BEST I have ever had and I am a certified French toast connoisseur, I swear. Impossible to put into words, just trust. However ALSO trust me when I say that you need to go with a friend who will go halvsies with you, because it is such a large heap of sweetness that you something savory (preferably their salmon Benedict on latkes) will be required to stomach the French toast. As aforementioned in tons of other reviews, you will love the atmosphere and decor.
