--- NK Score = 7.0/10 --- 6/10 = Furniture/Ambience 8/10 = Food Quality 6/10 = Service 7/10 = Price (Other Ratings Hidden) _____________________________________________ =( BASIC INFO )= - Medium Size Restaurant - Usually Empty, Casual - Decent Food ( $8.00 - $15.00 ) - American, Chinese, Indonesian - Average Prices, Depends - Easy Parking Accessibility _____________________________________________ = Atmosphere = Casual dining, the interior is calm and quiet even during dinner hours. Everything was pretty normal except for the table I had, it was sticky, like improperly cleaned and unsanitary. Other than that, all else went fine and the ambience was pretty good. _____________________________________________ = Food Quality = --- Rendang Sapi ($14.95): 3/5 --- A rather interesting dish, the curry was very flavorful and had a strong aromatic scent. The beef had a very nice texture as well, especially when mixed with the sauce. Now, heres where it went downhill, there was only 4 pieces of meat, and the curry portion was brutally small for a whooping $15 price. Honestly, its a good dish, but probably not worth the price. --- Kwetiau Siram ($8.95): 4/5 --- Mmm the flat rice noodles were pretty good, chewy with a nice, soft texture. The sauce was very flavorful and dense, it had a semi-sweet and savory taste that resembles some creamy cake, but more noodle like. Portion is pretty good, enough to fill you up and the ingredients are well balanced. --- Chicken Noodle Soup ($5.95): 1/5 --- Dont dare touch this dish... its a bland monstrosity with flavorless potential, like it could cure all your problems because its probably super healthy! But noooo, its just so tasteless that youll regret every penny that you spent on this magnifying doooom! _____________________________________________ = Price / Service = Prices for some dishes are pretty average while the others can get a bit expensive. The portion size varies depending on what you get, some dishes are rather small while others are pretty decent. Service is not very attentive, like Id say theres hardly any service because the cashier seems to be the server? Maybe it was just a slow day. _____________________________________________ Miscellaneous (Other): - Tables could be sticky - Chinese + Indonesian Menu Signed NK (July 2017) Images below by Jason Lx (NK)

We wanted take-out instead of eating at the buffet at Cafe East Buffet at Hwy 6 & Bellaire (which is very good, btw) I searched Google for another good local place. This one popped up and was amazed at all the positive reviews. Usually that means the owners are posting them to bump up their status, but these all looked legit. So we ordered some chicken fried rice, moo goo gai pan, general tso, egg drop soup, and fried wonton. 15 minutes later when I picked it up I was greeted with a HUGE amount of food. Seriously, it was a lot of food, and they added some free eggrolls too. The total cost was just over $20!! Thats incredible. Once home, we were amazed at how good the food was. The only downside was the egg-drop soup which was a little bit bland. Everything else was delicious (which helped since we were eating it for the next 4 days!). And dont let the very worn-out decor inside fool you; the food is exceptional. pros: delicious, inexpensive, fast cons: egg drop soup a little bland, restaurant is a little worn-out inside.

Im originally from New Jersey where the Chinese food is solid gold. I come to the Rice Bowl all the time with my family because its the closest so far I found in the state of Texas that comes close to New Jersey Chinese food. The lady at the counter knows my family my name and I personally feel that she is a very nice person she always goes the extra mile to make sure that we are happy and satisfied customers. Do yourself a favor, if youre in the area stop and treat yourself. The roast pork egg foo young is fantabulous. The only thing I would make room for improvement would be, bring all the food out at the same time .

I came back after five months of opening and I have to say absolutely floored with growth of the menu. The staff were very friendly; as I entered I was greeted by the managers with warmth and kindness. The chef and I exchanged banter since we are both Indonesian. I do appreciate the growth that Rice Bowl Chinese Restaurant is flourishing in the right direction maintaining their true principle. This gets my Indonesian Stamp of Approval!

First time customer, live next door, walked to counter asked if I was dining in I said yes, chose my own seat took my own menu,I wanted tea they offered snapple, then I paid for my meal before I even got my drink,I wanted a refill on tea,but the server was too busy asking questions about her personal life.the owner was chewing on food while she spoke to me, at the counter, food was good but they need lessons on how to run an establishment.

A solid choice for fast Chinese food which has your usual suspects such as general tsos, garlic chicken, pork fried rice, etc. However, this restaurants specialty focuses on Indonesian cuisine. Items like the Ayam Goreng Kuning (Chicken fried in an Indonesian yellow curry butter) and Rendang Sapi (Beef chunks in coconut milk curry with hot Indonesian spices) are excellent choices if you want to try something different.

I read all the positive reviews here and decided it was worth a try. Im glad I did. It is by far the best Chinese food in the area. The reviews led me to believe the inside was a little junky, but it wasnt bad. It was better than many chinese food places Ive been to. I thought it was a little funny, they called their General Tsos chicken "General Joes." I cant complain though because it was excellent!

The food is good and really worth the price.. but atimes when you order for spicy fried rice, they dont make it spicy and sometimes they make it spicy.sometimes the fried rice seems not fully done like its hard to chew .sometimes it comes normal...other than that, the food is worth the price and please the when we need spicy food, give us what we want..so am giving you 3 stars

Rude counter lady. Smiled at white couple. Treated everyone else like trash. Server brought sauces to white couple. When I asked, she told me to get it. Food was not bad, but I am not going back to that racist establishment. If you are gonna smile at one race, that is all youre gonna get as your client.

I never write reviews & I mean NEVER! But this place here was horrible, the food was terrible, great prices if youre looking for something cheap with no flavor.. Customer service was horrible, I made a second trip because I didnt get exactly what I asked for. Definitely wont ever be going back!

Was a bit confused when we walked in the restaurant, American Chinese food pictures are plastered above the walls. Need to ask for the Indonesian Menu. The food is good, but not very authentic. Maybe at one point it was made with love, but its now treated like Chinese takeout.

Me and my Indonesian friends came to this place, and they both agreed that the food was authentic. It was my first time having Indonesian food, and it was a wonderful experience. I dont remember what we ordered, but everything that we tried was delicious!
