Natto was recently bought by someone else and is currently under construction by new management. They still are serving food though with bags of concrete and all other building materials exposed! The food has changed and has become generally $1 more expensive including the lunch specials.The problem with this is that the food is HHHOORRRRIIBBBLLEEEE!!!!! I used to come to Natto around 3 times a week with my girlfriend. The old staff knew us, were very polite and knew what we wanted before we walked in the door. This new staff is extremely rude and does not listen very well (we spend 5 minutes explaining the order we usually order every week). I asked for 2 glasses of water and they told us to sit down without even acknowledging my request.They never brought the water and gave us our food with plastic fork and spoons (might as well have given us a spork) I LOVED their food but now the new management has changed the whole menu and it is BAD! its soggy and sour when it isnt supposed to be (its supposed to be SPICY!). The rice used to be delicious because it was sweet and sticky white rice. Now the rice is plain white rice that tastes like it hasnt even been salted. Me and my girlfriend agreed that we have never had Asian food that bad. If you have ever been here before you know that every once and a while there will be a scrawny homeless person asking for your left overs or change walking around outside (Its downtown so its to be expected). One asked me for something to eat and I bought him an order of rice and then we got our food and I boxed it up and gave our meals to him as well which made him happy; but I felt GUILTY!!! I felt guilty giving this person food that tasted like I had gotten it from the sewer or the trashcan next to the gas pump outside. I told the manager before I left that I was a frequent customer before they had bought the location and that I will NEVER be coming back because: A) You raised the prices (which is fine if your food calls for more expensive ingredients or you want a larger profit margin) B) But your food is infinitely worse than the previous owners! He looked at me said "OK" and then walked away without saying another word!!! You know its bad food when you feel guilty giving it to a homeless person who looks like he hadnt eaten in 2 weeks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS NEW NATTO!!!! Im so sad...I loved natto

I dont write reviews, nor do I always put much stock in the flaming negative reviews from people who trash a place on all the review sites to make themselves feel good. I dont know about this person who went on all the review sites to trash this place on 3/20, but my experience is that courtesy begets courtesy. I order from Natto infrequently and while their food is not ever going to win any awards I can say that the food I order has always been fresh and good. On 3/26/14, I ordered the pan fried pork dumplings and the General Tsos chicken. The dumplings were very good and my only negative about the chicken was that it wasnt very spicy at all. Otherwise it was tender and plentiful and definitely want spoiled. The lady who took my order was efficient and fast. I didnt call her to have a long chat or to have my ego stroked so I found her to be just fine. The delivery came withing 5 minutes of when she told me. I ordered again tonight 3/27 and again had another very fine experience. I got the dumplings again and the Orange Beef. Its as good take out as you can get in this area. Check your attitudes and egos - If you are expecting fine dining and Michelin service you out not be calling for take out anyway.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant and my order was incorrect. I called to tell them and the woman had a horrible attitude and basically refused to do anything about it. I began to eat the sesame chicken I ordered only to discover that it tasted of eggs (sign of bad chicken) and smelled HORRIBLE!!!! I had only taken one bite and I could not for the life of me get the awful taste out of my mouth. I wish that Id read the previous reviews before ordering. I noted that the good reviews came prior to the restaurant changing ownership. I can only imagine what the restaurant looks like if they delivered chicken like that. I have filed a complaint against them with the city of Houston. I have also taken pictures of the food because it didnt look right to me either.

Theres not a single dish in this place that I dont love. I can try new things aside from my usual without being afraid and regretting the change. The hot and sour soup and eggdrop soup is amazing and full of flavor. I love that the lady remembers me even though Im visit every couple of months. Its oddly connected to the Exxon gas station close to St. Joseph Hospital, but people we go to restaurants to eat good food and not expect to eat in a palace. Its small, cute, and most importantly clean. Its worth the drive to have Chinese/Japanese food here.

If you dont mind eating food from a gas station that wreaks of urine and that has all restrooms "Out Of Order" (thought it was a requirement from the health inspector that restrooms were available at any business serving a dine-in business). I was tempted to order based on the flashy menu they dropped off at our offices, but after happening on the place by chance and seeing/smelling the conditions, I would starve before buying food from this place.

I was disappointed in everything on my lunch special (via delivery). It was cold, which might have been hot if I had eaten there. But the wonton was bland, the crab puffs were burnt and the cashew chicken was watery, bland and undercooked. It was edible though and it filled the empty spot. Usually I give a place 2 chances so will update next time.

I have ordered from here a number of times over the pat year, last night it took over an hour for my delivery. I got no discount and no sympathy. The food is just alright, there are better tasting takeout places out there that actually care about their product and their customers. I will be taking my business there from now on.

I really didnt care that it was located inside a gas station. But the worst thing there food and rice was cold and no good taste.they didnt offer me any water. The cloth napkin looked like it was dirty and I seen the lady washing my utensils with water only no soap, no joke. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone.

All I can really say is that they have fast and efficient callers. Almost no hassle when placing a delivery on the phone since it was straight to the point and took ~2 min on the phone. Their delivery times arent that bad, since I got mine in just 12 minutes.

The most disgusting thing I ever eat in my life !!!! I just cant explain how a nasty, and greasy that was. I would never recommend that place to nobody ...I put all the food straight up to a toilet!!! And I dont have no idea how this place still exist

I am a frequent patron here as well. I have not had a bad experience with them in over 1 year!! I love their vegetable fried rice!!! As one of the other people had stated, I find their customer service to be one of the best!
