The Rooster used to be our failies favorite go to place for the above average chinese dining when living in the Copperfield area. Today I stopped by thinking of the affiable Lilly only to discover new owners and that Lilly had retired. Try not to show my disappointment, I decided to try their version of what had been my favorite, House Special Hunan Beef. I can say that the service was friendly and attentive, the restaurant clean though austire (see photo). I cannot say that they serve the gourmet level that I had remembered. That is not to say the food was not satisfactory, it just doesnt sparkle as before. Great for neighborhood dining, but nothing to drive out of the way for.

This place is great and the food is always on point. I take my girlfriend and friends every couple weeks for the last couple of years with zero issues. I don't know how anyone could give this place a.bad rating unless you're a snooty prick that hates REAL food cooked and made to order unlike other places.. its family owned and feels as if its home in a way.. love love love this place! And btw another post said the general chicken was raw... well I have yet to see general chicken on the menu.. id say alot of these bad reviews are people from other restaurants being low life people and leaving negative reviews.. try this place and you will love it!

When trying a new restaurant you should read the reviews and do some research. After reading these reviews, I was looking forward to trying the food. Then I got it.. it was repulsive! It was DISGUSTING. Everything had this horrible aftertaste. I dont know what the heck happened to our food. Or.. Im not sure what these other people have eaten before in their lives that they believe this food is tasty. And on top of that.. it was expensive!! They didnt even give us rice with our entree.. which Ive NEVER had happen to me. We paid almost $50 and it was SOO bad we just threw it away and bought something else. Do yourself a favor. Go elsewhere.

New to the area and had been eating at a very expensive Chinese buffet down the street. My husband and I tried HS Chinese for a change and were pleasantly surprised! The decor is a little dated and typical of a Chinese restaurant, and we were the only diners. Service was excellent. We split the beef ribs as an appetizer, then I had the Pepper Steak and my husband had General Tsos Chicken. We were brought several spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce. Drink refills were prompt - and we never had to ask for one. We left stuffed for $20. Were already planning our next visit!

Over the past years I have had the chance to eat some deliciouas Egg Fu Young and I think this restuarant has some of the best. Made fresh and with all the correct ingrediants. I like mine steaming hot with seamed rice and the creamy soy sauce is just right! Nice serving size with 3 large pattys. I usually order mine to go and pick it up.Lilly is Great and I just Love her! At first I didnt now what to expect from her, Shes Old School Asian traditional and gets to the point...not messing around. Just like her orginal recipes!

Food is good but wrong customer service attitude. I have eaten there for long time, and there is always something about them that bothers me. For example, last time I order a chicken loin mein without vegetable to go, but when I got home it had vegetable. So, I called them to complain and to change my order and found out they made sure they wanted to see if that was for real. Really? I used to go unless once or twice a week, so they already knew who I am. Never again!

Everything Ive ever ordered has been delicious. We normally order online and no matter what we get what we order. I asked for 3 sets of chopsticks, one item extra spicy and napkins...everything was there which I find very rare nowadays. They are always so kind when they come to our door. Just love this place! I will never order take out Chinese food anywhere else!

Great sit-down service and the best food!! And their delivery rocks, too!! Their website is fantastic, & with online ordering, we LOVE it. I normally dont like Chinese, actually, but HS has delicious food! My 8 year old daughter loves their veggie lo mein, I am crazy about their chicken fried rice, and the soups are perfect. My other kids gobble it up, too!
