The first time I visited Eloise Nichols, I wasnt quite sure what to expect. I hadnt heard about the restaurant, so usually thats not good. The doors were open throughout the restaurant, which made it bright and warm. Its such a quaint spot. I wasnt sure what type of wine to order, so the waitress was so kind to let me sample to see what I preferred. I ordered the Grouper with 3 bean salad. The Grouper was delicious with a nice salty flavor. I also ordered the brussel sprouts . Brussel sprouts arent always the easiest to cook. They were sweet and seasoned well with a nice crispy texture. I visited another time with coworkers. We tried happy hour first. They even had hot chicken on the menu. The restaurant changes its menu up seasonally. I decided to try the short ribs, which isnt always on the menu. They were the best. Id recommend visiting. Its also big enough for large parties. The price is reasonable. I paid about $27 including the tip for my meal. They now offer breakfast too in the mornings during the week and brunch on the weekends.

This place seemed so promising. We went three times, trying various items. They are trying too hard to save money yet pass the expense on to the customer. "Hash browns" are simply mashed up tater tots (they should know Houston foodies are much too savvy for this). Grilled chicken sandwich had a very thin chicken breast to the point you cannot taste it through the bread, maybe it was 2oz total. The icing on the cake was on our third visit - during happy hour. They advertise $5 hamburgers - turns out these burgers are of lower quality than served during lunch or dinner as we were informed by our server. The happy hour burger is reminiscent of cafeteria school lunches, it was so repulsive my friend and I could not even finish our burgers. When I asked the server about this she said "what did you expect for $5"? Actually, I expected the same exact burger I had eaten three days earlier during lunch. I have never been to a place that offers lower quality food during happy hour. Fewer offerings? Yes. Lower quality? No! Such a shame.

This was my first visit here. I had heard good things about it. I also like Adair Kitchen, which I understand is owned and operated by the same folks. I arrived at 2:45 PM and they told me that the lunch menu would close at 3 PM, so I ordered immediately after reviewing the menu. The service was a bit slow, but I attribute it to the fact I was there at a very off time. The menu had plenty of healthy items on it. I settled on the Tuna Poke and Superfood Bowl. I definitely plan on going back and will change my rating to 5.0 if I keep have good experiences.

This would be a cute place to have brunch. The food was okay - nothing great or special. I thought the portions were small for the price. I had the cornmeal fried snapper and the fish was like a 3oz portion with alot of lettuce and beans on the plate for $16. It should have been a salad and not a fish entree for such a small portion of fish. My sisters steak was flavorful, but the meat was a little tough. The service was also only okay - nice, but not very quick or attentive.

Unfortunately there was confusion who was serving us, so we waited 15 min to be acknowledged and service was lacking until we got proactive. Bus boys/girls are a little too impatient taking plates before we finished. Burger and fries okay for price but sadly below average. Hot chicken has great spice and flavor! Three stars since the Rhode Island oysters taste fresh and fabulous, and the wine selection and pours are generous.

My brother took me for a birthday dinner, started with the apple salad (definitely a must try and share), I had the grilled redfish with cabbage slaw and a spirit animal. Delicious meal, nice atmosphere, kinda loud like most restaurants on a Saturday night with celebrations going on. Chic atmosphere, good food and easily accessible location. Hostess Sandra is total Awesomeness

This is a great looking bar and dining room with a friendly staff and parking is easy for the River Oak/Galleria area. I found the food to be very average, however, for the River Oaks pricing. It seems the chef is trying too hard to be different and the unusual combinations are not hitting the mark. In sum, great place to grab a drink, but I would dine elsewhere.

Excellent food, atmosphere, and service! I really enjoyed Eloise Nichols Grills Brunch. The chicken and waffles topped with slice green apples was delicious. I also loved the Spirit Animal cocktail made with vodka, pineapple, and lime! Go taste and see for yourself!

Drinks were good (spirit animal and comes in a pineapple). Food was nice-starters:Brussel sprouts and hummus; main courses: fish&chips, lamb meatloaf, pork chop. Our waitress was lame but otherwise we liked the place. Upscale cozy ambience.

Had our anniversary dinner here, it did not disappoint! The meal kept getting better. Tuna tartar, pork ribs, bread pudding, craft cocktails and port to finish it off (they even had a lovely white 10 yr port!), couldnt have asked for more!

Great service. Beautiful space. I had the strip steak which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes were heavenly. The steak was cooked perfectly medium. I went with friends, but this would be a great date spot.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Had the steak which was very good but not wowed. The carrots were excellent but the potatoes were a bit over gassed (smoked). The place gets 5 stars for ambiance, decor and staff.

Food was very good, drinks were inventive. Service was attentive. Only complaint is how loud it is. Dont go expecting to have dinner conversation as everyone is shouting to be heard.

I celebrated a friends birthday here. The craft cocktails were fantastic. It is hard to beat the ambiance and the service was incredible. I will most definitely be returning.

The service was pretty good, and the food was delicious and the menu is unique. I suggest the brussel sprouts and the chicken appetizer. And the "Spirit Animal" for drink.

The restaurant was ok. The food was odd, missed the mark. Staff nice, but seemed that it would have been better service, if we had invested in drinks. Water got a sigh.

Great date spot. Loved our starters, joes hot chicken and carmelized brussel sprouts. The portions were pretty generous and we had to take food home.

Possibly the best brunch place in Houston! The chicken waffles were *out of this world*, and so were the marguaritas.
