We stopped by this restraunt because of the sign that they had posted by the street lunch special for 5.99. We went inside and told them we wanted the lunch special that is posted outside for 5.99 they served us our food and shortly after brought us our receipt which totaled to be 18 dollars and some change so my husband asked why our ticket was so much they said in order to get the special for 5.99 we would have to buy drinks (They had already told us when we ordered the drinks came with it) there bagan a little bickering as my husband had went and took pictures of the sign and asked them to point out where it said we needed to buy drinks...they then threatened to call the police..they then let us pay the price we had originally wanted to pay and then we realized they did not even bring us the right food. All in all they tried to rob us they did not bring the right food they over charged us and they where very rude and unprofessional when it came to trying to resolve the situation.

Well its finally gone down the tubes! Twenty years of faithful service and never once been offered a discount or even a free drink! But thats not the issue. I have been bringing family here for years and the food was great authentic Mexican cuisine. Today they have found every way to loose that touch by serving mediocre food you could get in the frozen section of the nearest Kroger store! The meat is dry and barely seasoned at best! Most places serve authentic salsa ,green and red, but here you get a tomato paste salsa that has no flavor and its served cold, yuck! The servers dont have smiles anymore and you feel like your doing them a favor coming in! So on to cilantros , these people dont stop asking if your OK and the food is great! I think the people who have been going there for so long there taste buds just dont work anymore! Sorry guys but were moving on!

Decent service in terms of speed, food is good ... I will never return due to the fact I had been a customer for around 10 years and they charged me for a container for my leftovers without warning me there would be a charge. Never had I been charged for a styrofoam container for leftovers until out of the blue they charged me. This was after a $30 meal and I wanted a container for 1 leftover enchilada and a small amount of refried beans. Very greedy / shady attitude and I wont go back again.

Ive been going there all my life,they literally changed everything on the menu.pricey plates for a not-so-authentic Mexican food now. Thats the last time Ill ever go there,shame really,the service was so low,when we were finished,I had to get up and pay at the checkout because there were no servers around and even asked what I ate They dont have whats on the image anymore No fajita steak or chicken.now its all chopped and not sold separately

I LOVE this place!! We recently moved to Colorado and I would pay an enormous amount of money if they would ship me some food! The so-called Mexican food in Colorado is dreadful. Thats the only thing I REALLY miss about Houston is the awesome Mexican food, esp. El Imperial. Love their Queso, Enciladas of all kinds and chicken fajitas. Mmmmmmmmm! Here, they think green chile, burritos and chimichangas are Mexican food. LOL Blech!

Ive been eating at El Imperial for 15 years and I love the food, the service, the employees and the owners. Theyre good people and they truly appreciate their customers! Ill always eat there and continue to send my friends and family to El Imperial for good food and great margaritas!

Went in out of pure chance. The staff was nice enough, though a little absent. The food was not at all what I would expect from an authentic joint. It was warm to cold and fairly bland. The prices are decent, but I wouldnt go out of my way to visit here again. Next time, Ill pass.

Food is good and reasonably priced, service is always attentive and friendly. I highly recommend the chunky guacamole. The only place I know that uses this method and it is now my favorite way to eat it!

I havew been going there since it opened. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly. The owner is always there (7 days a week) and she has done an excellent job of remodeling the restaurant.
