This is the type of chinese food I grew up eating from a family-owned restaurant in my hometown that sadly closed. I hadnt found anything comparable until I tried this place on a whim because they delivered to the hotel I was staying at while visiting Houston for business. I was hooked after that, and I come every time Im in Houston for work (usually 2-3 times a month). Im sad I still havent found anything as good where I currently live in DFW. Delivery was always super fast to the hotel I used to stay in. I changed hotels to one thats outside their delivery area and tried a different restaurant one night when I didnt feel like driving to them. Big mistake! Not only was the food horrible, but it took them over an hour to deliver my food from less than 2 miles away! China Cottage was always 10-15 min tops. Ive tried their egg drop, wonton and sweet and sour soups. They are AMAZING. So many other restaurants get sweet and sour soup dreadfully wrong. This place hits the spot! Not watery, not oily (yes, Ive had a place give me disgusting oily sweet and sour soup before), is tangy enough....everything sweet and sour soup should be! My entree staples are kung pao chicken, chicken fried rice and moo goo gai pan. All amazing. Veggie eggrolls are so good and crispy. My only reason for 4 stars is they may on occasion get something wrong with your order. Ive never had an issue with any of the staff though. I suggest using the BeyondMenu app to order online if you find ordering over the phone to be difficult or unpleasant. I love this place!!

Absolutely horrible!!! 1st time I ordered from this place they got my personal order wrong and had things on it I am allergic to that I asked them to not put on it! My husbands food was fine. I called back and asked them to just refund me the money back to my card for my personal meal, I did not want them to bring anything again because it took entirely way too much to even get the food and it was cold! The lady who answered the phone extremely rude about it and told me I had to return the food back to the restaurant in order to get my refund. Horrible customer service very rude and my husbands food was terrible!!! I will never recommend this place or order again!!!

I come here often for lunch since its near work . The food is great.. sometimes I order for delivery or pickup. For some reason when its to go they dont give you the soup which comes with lunch. Normally not a big deal. But since I have a cold I really wanted the soup also ... so I told the lady can I just eat the soup here and take the rest to go.... she made a big ordeal out of it in her rude tone... finally I hot to eat my soup there.... it really shouldnt be that hard.... if she understood english better maybe there wouldnt be such a problem!

1 star!!!! Food was hot... Fresh idk about That... ( chicken broccoli) Very bland like no season no brown sauce just chicken broccoli & carrots damn near dry.. Cheese wantons GOOD.. egg rolls good... DELIVERY GUY TELLS ME TIP MUST BE PAID CASH I GAVE HIM 1.00.. Now mind you grubhub ask you when you processing your order do you want any utensils ... Obviously if you dont click the button then you want them.. & i actually needed a spoon 2 eat i just moved here and havent moved a thing yet... Thank god for neighbors.

Had the seafood delight meal combo. Tried ordering online but it wouldnt take it right, called and it was a fast and courteous delivery. Really had high hopes but the seafood was just okay, nothing to rave about, plain, needed more flavor, not enough real seafood or krab. Fried Rice, bland, just a low quality white rice with a little color. The eggroll and cheese puff however were delicious. I suspect they do better with deep fried items, such as sweet and sour etc.

Been ordering from this place several times over the past few months, and I love everything Ive ordered. Today I ordered the Beef Fried Rice, which hasnt been very good from any other places around the area, it was awesome! The cuts of beef were tender and really lean. I was so surprised, My other favorites from this place are the Jalapeno Chicken and Sweet n Sour Chicken. Give this place a try I think youll love it like I do.

Always love this place! I have ate here plenty of times, and got a lot of different dishes! I honestly cant tell you what my favorite is! But I do LOVE the crab puffs! We order like 4 orders between the 2 of us LOL! And its always good heated up! I always take leftovers to work, and people are jealous! :p Love the sesame chicken, combination fried rice, beef and broccoli and the list goes on..Try it! You wont be disappointed!

This place was amazing! From the time we walked in to the time we left, we were well taken care of. We ordered schezuan chicken, shrimp lo mein and hot sour soup. The food tasted great and the service was quick. We had to drive down to Dallas, we were in and out within 20 mins. I would drive down from Dallas just to eat it! Two thumbs up for this place!

Best Chinese in Houston! Took a while to find a place that compares to the choices in New England, but this is It. Awesome soups, fabulous lo mein, everything is amazing... Would have given 5 stars except like with most to-go places occasionally prefers are incorrect, but theyre always good about fixing, also delivery takes long.

Food was okay ran out of tea ...OMG then to top it of I left tip on table got up to pay with credit card then after swiping she said u need to leave a $2.00 TIP because I put 0.00 for tip that was on table...OMG I was so embarrassed that I just put on there $2.00 an left...BUT WILL NEVER GO BACK....ITS OKAY GODS GOOD TO ME

I ordered the general tsos chicken and steamed chicken dumplings with a dr pepper. Everything came out awesome. Perfectly cooked and my waitress was nice and funny. The environment was quiet (sunday afternoon) but it was clean. I will definitely return. Prices are goid for what you get as well

The food was horrible like it just had came out of the microwave. On top of that the costumer service is horrible. Would not recommend it to anyone. When we walked in during lunch there was literally no one having lunch there. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. IF I COULD GIVE A 0 STAR I WOULD.

OMG!! The best chinese take out in a long time. Even my husband was impressed. Everything was fresh, and hot. Large fresh shrimp, not the small frozen stuff. Definitely keeping them in my contacts. ALso very convenient web ordering system, can even include tip to order online. =)

I wasnt too sure about it at first...and almost didnt write a review, but I think its worth it. The food here was great! It actually surprised me! I had the General Tsos chicken and it was delish! For quick, inexpensive American Chinese food...it hit the spot

I used to order for delivery from here and definitely will not be going back. The lady who answers the phone has a serious attitude problem. Their food isnt that great to have to put up with the terrible customer service. Rather take my business elsewhere.
