I use to go to Carlos a lot when I was a kid with my parents. I would get the Cheese Enchiladas half order. IT WAS SOO GOOD! I have been lately and the cheese is not even melted, its like a block of cheese in my enchilada. The rice tasted like it was left over from the night before and it was reheated. I do not speak Spanish, neither does my husband. When we sat down to order the waitress greeted us in Spanish, which is never a problem. We understood she asked what we wanted to drink we told her water and lemon. We could of said " Dos Agua de Lemon" or however you say it but we didnt want to let her under the impression that we spoke Spanish. Because when it came to anything else we would of been lost. When we ordered the drinks and asked for more salsa her body language/facial expression looked annoyed when we were not speaking in Spanish or attempt to. I dont believe that she spoke English which again is not a problem, but it did rub me wrong when I could feel her annoyed energy when we would order or ask for anything in English. Other than that the Enchiladas went down hill. The salsa is very water/runny. The rice tasted left over and reheated. You get what you pay for.

Been eating here for 25 years only got bad food once. Simple good home style Mexican food like Mama made. I recommend you try this place You will leave with a smile on your face. Lets put it this way better than most but not the best a good go to when it comes to Mexican food.

Best authentic Mexican restaurant in Houston! Everything and I mean everything on the menu is delicious. If you want Tex-Mex go to Pappasitos and be over charged and under served.

Good food. Relaxed atmosphere. Their liquor to mix ratio in the margaritas is off... leaning towards the liquor side so I am NOT complaining lol

Customer service is horrible fountain drinks flat rice hard as a rock every thing tasted reheated. Never again will I go to this place.
