I want to give them 5 stars just based on how delicious the brisket was, because that really is the main thing I look for in Texas bbq. Pro-tip, always ask for the "moist" brisket, even if you hate that word. Its worth it! I took off one star for the inconsistent quality of the sides, though. The loaded mashed potatoes & creamed corn were delicious, and the pickled onions that came on the side at no extra charge were a welcome surprise- absolutely loved that! The french bread Texas toast was also really good, a twist on your typical Texas toast. Not sure how they cooked that, but they did a great job! The jalapeno sausage was disappointing- no real flavor & the texture was really soft. The potato salad was so-so and on the sweet side, & thats one of the staples of any bbq joint imo. The green beans, while not always on offer at a bbq place, looked good, so I was a little disappointed when they ended up bland & kinda greasy. The sweet tea... well, go ahead and get the bottle of real sugar Coke from Mexico, instead. It was a tea leaf that probably tastes pretty good brewed hot & mixed with less sweetener (or none at all) but it didnt translate over to cold, sweet tea for me. Maybe youd disagree, I guess. Overall, I love the vibe- its a unique building that has been made into a nice restaurant. Nothing pretentious, its a very clean, welcoming spot & the aroma that greets you in the parking lot will make your mouth water! I hope they perfect everything on the menu, but in the meantime, Ill happily go back & try the other sides to see what they ace.

PROS: 1. Old house charm thats been updated and made to feel current. Everything from the exterior, parking lot, hardwood floors and bathrooms look brand new 2. If you include the upstairs, theres plenty of private dining rooms if you have a small group (<15 people) that wants its own space. 3. Efficient line so minimal to no waiting - so far, 4. GREAT customer service to make sure we enjoy our first experience. Ill just say they took care of us without giving specifics - and we didnt have to say or ask for anything. The owner is also very polite and interested in making sure we had a good experience. 5. I shared the four meat plate with a couple friends. we got the St Louis ribs, double order of top cut brisket and jalapeño sausage. Our sides were the slaw, corn and we also got a huge baked potato, which was delicious! CONS: 1. Even though this is their fifth location, theyre going through some of the usual "new location" growing pains, otherwise I would have given them 5*. 2. It was all great but I prefer sausage to be a little juicier if possible. OVERALL: Its a great local neighborhood BBQ joint, decent prices & variety of items, but it the customer service and their attempts to make us happy without us ever asking for anything extra that caught our attention. Well definitely go back!

This was my first time to Houston and I tried this place because of the amount of good reviews and they delivered to our hotel. First off I would like to say that ordering was simple on Grub Hub. I also enjoyed the variety of items that were on the menu. The delivery guy was extremely nice and professional. The brisket was good but being from St.Louis it wasnt my favorite but i would definitely get it again! The baked beans were unique but in a good way, they dont make them like that in the Lou. The potato salad had such a great blend of flavor with vinegar and sweet in the perfect balance. Now on to the good stuff.....my absolute favorite things that I had. The ribs are AMAZING! I am a sauce girl (like more sauce the better) and I ate them without because the flavor was so good! And they melt in your mouth! I splurged and decided to get the bread pudding as well and it was absolutely amazing! So needless to say next time Im in Houston I will be getting food from here and will stick to my favs...ribs, potato salad, and bread pudding! Keep on being awesome Brookstreet and thank you for a wonderful Houston experience!

Was kicking myself because I forgot to tell them I wanted fatty brisket. Got home with my order, sure enough, got lean. Turns out, that wasnt a mistake. The brisket had an awesome bark all the way around, and even the lean had a perfect bit of fat in it that hadnt been cooked out. The ribs were equally well cooked, nearly fell off the bone, but had enough of a bite that didnt turn to mush in your mouth. The regular sausage was fine, and the jalapeño was a little better. Sauce has a kind of funky tang to it, but is alright after a few bites. Their eggy rolls are pretty good. As far as sides, the beans are as outstanding as the brisket. The potato casserole is pretty solid, pretty much tastes like a mashed baked potato with toppings mixed in. The corn is interesting/good as well. Got to say I had to have caught them on one of their best days, as I very rarely have bbq that is as good top to bottom as this was. But I will definitely be back to find out.

Very lackluster, tasted like oven cooked meat. Obviously, wood is not the heat source, calling this barbecue is like saying McDonolds McRib is BBQ. Looks Iike someone else jumped on the BBQ train.... if you call it BBQ it does not make BBQ. Also, the portions are very small. This was a non factor, due to the low food quality. The ranch style beans were most likely canned. If you go to Kroger and get bagged pulled pork and a can of ranch beans you would most likely have the same quality "BBQ" as this place . Not sure why I bother to write this review this place wont make it. At least it should not. Who knows.... Word of advice, if you really enjoy BBQ dont waist your time or money at Brooksteet.

One of the best BBQ places we have eaten here in Houston. The food was fantastic and great prices for the amount of food. We tried a lot of different types of meats and sides and they were all really good. Brisket was really moist and flavorful. The place was very clean and had a great atmosphere. The staff was really helpful and friendly. We know it is a new place and they were asking us what we thought. We mentioned that they didnt have a changing table to change our baby in the womens restroom and they very quickly promised to get one and seemed very interested in providing the best service. We will definitely come back and would recommend to anyone.

I have been to this restaurant several times in the past. From the very first time till now I can say that the quality of food has severely declined. Today was the very last time i will be coming here. The food waas disgusting to say the least. The brisket and pork were dry with no seasoning...not what it used to be. The bbq sauce...watery and definitely not what it used to be. The sides...omg. So gross. We didnt eat any of it. They got our money but it will be the last. Whatever cook they had 6-8 months ago they need to rehire him and fire whoever is there now for the sake of the business...
