This place is one of the few places that lives up to the hype. My husband has been going here for years and I hate to say it but often times his favs are my least favs. Not the case here. First off, its easy to spend all your time in the "grocery" section... they carry a good brand of curry starters, have Thai tea by the can, same with other Thai/Asian drinks, Wasabi peas, fresh fried sweet crispies and green tea pocky! GREEN TEA POCKY. Love it. You can also buy lottery tickets here. I havent won yet btw. The owners/staff are nice, even when busy. They are definitely all business. Its in a smallish center and I will say on a busy night parking is a bit tight, we had to park on side road once. No big deal. The food, is great. I will say there is not much difference btw the green (E4) and red curry (E7). But I know I prefer the red so there must be a little. I think its basil. The fried tofu (G13) is so good and priced to be a steal! I always get it. We also like the puffs (G10 vegetable or chicken) and the mixed vegetable stir fry with shrimp (F1). Weve dined in several times and gotten take out. The take out is as good as the dine-in. Overall the quality is great BUT on occasion the heat can be a little inconsistent none the less you cant go wrong here!

UPDATE: I had the pad thai for lunch and was disappointed. :( I dont think I would get this dish back in the day but I wanted to compare it to Thai Gourmet. Utter disappointment!! It was severely lacking in flavors. Also, my chicken pad thai had tofu in it. I wonder if they put tofu in it so that they dont have to put more chicken? I dont know but I didnt like it! Back to Thai Gourmet! --- This used to be my go to for Thai food in past years. Its still pretty good but I ordered to go today and the amount of food in the containers was severely limited to my past trips. I ordered the red chicken curry and there werent very many Pieces of chicken in there. The pad Thai was in a container about half the size of the first picture posted. I enjoyed the red curry but after being to Thai gourmet off Richmond, this curry didnt live up to my past higher expectations. Staff is truly nice and Market has everything you need for cooking Asian dishes. I think that if I want Thai food and Im too lazy to drive to Thai gourmet, I will come here. I didnt try the pad Thai so I cant compare it to Thai gourmet but when I do, Ill update this review.

G10 - Ka Ree Puff (get it? its a fried curry puff!) - Veggie! A5 - Som Tum (Green Shredded Papaya Salad) - THAI Style! C4 - Kee Mao Noodle (Flat Rice Noodles, Basil, Chili Sauce, Onions & Cherry Tomatoes) - Pork! E6 - Kang Ped Nor Mai (Red Curry Without Coconut Milk, Long Bean, Ginger, Onion Served with Rice) - Beef it up! Order the above and you wont be disappointed! I recommend going with the Medium spiciness level... Spicy and Thai Spicy will make your tongue burn long and slowly and 1000 Peppers just sounds like torture! :) A local family owned business which makes you feel good about Houston and its diversity! Hole in the wall restaurant located inside a grocery store where you can buy all your Thai ingredients. I usually order for pick-up and feast like a Thai princess at home! :) Dont forget to grab a to go box of the lemon grass scented fish cakes with slices of cucumber and yummy dippin sauce on your way out at the front counter table!

Rude owner Laurence. Hours state they are own until 8. He informed me when I came at 7:45 that they close the kitchen at 7:30. I mentioned that perhaps he should state on website, etc...that it was grocery until 8 but kitchen closed at 7:30. He insulted me, he made me feel unsafe, very unkind in general. I have never posted, unless great experiences. The negativity and disrespect I was given compelled me to do so. I was not rude, demanding or otherwise unpleasant. It was shocking and embarrassing the way I was treated. I hope my experience is not the norm, however, I will never be back and will inform my neighborhood news letter.

I am not Thai food expert but I have been ordering from here for the past 4 years and found a bunch of seemingly authentic Thai dishes that I cant stop ordering. My favorites are the papaya salad, ke mao noodles, and curry puff appetizer. I always try to order it "spicy" but then can barely eat it. The level does go up to "Thai Spicy" so only professional spice eaters should venture there. I will also say that the place appears to be cheap but that isnt necessarily true for all dishes due to their portion sizes. The best bang for your buck by far is any of the curries and the boat noodle soup.

This is a hidden foodie gem in the Heights. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about Thai events going on in Houston. They have a small store but I found sticky rice, glutinous rice powder, fish sauce, sticky rice bamboo baskets, Thai takeaway stainless steel containers, kaffir lime leaves, Chaokoh coconut milk, and a variety of frozen Thai ingredients in this store. Plus I was able to get there in less than ten minutes from Montrose without needing to venture to southwest Houston Asiatown or Koreatown on Longpoint to find these ingredients.

One of the best places to get Thai food in Houston. It has limited parking and the restaurant is literally a hole in the wall. However, the food was delicious. This place has the best crab papaya salad Ive had outside of Thailand. The Tom yum soup and red curry was so authentic. If you cant handle spicy food, make sure to ask for number 1. We asked for mild on the Pad Kee Mao and it was super spicy, but we like spicy food so be cautious. It is located inside a grocery store and you actually pay at the grocery check out. We enjoyed our visit.

For a whole in the wall restaurant, they surprisingly offer some really good service. At least the for the one time I was there, the gentleman who was serving was super polite and soft spoken. I tried the pad see ew and their lemongrass chicken nuggets; and I enjoyed both. I asked for spiciness level 2 on my pad see ew and it had a lot of kicks to it. Next time Im going to make sure to ask for my meals to be prepared mild. Prices are pretty much on par with other restaurants so no complaints there.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Its the best Thai food Ive ever had, I think my husband and I have been back here at least 40 times since weve found it earlier this year haha. The servings are really large and the prices are awesome! Anything on the menu is delicious, and there is also a small grocery store in there where you can buy Asian products. Its definitely a hole in the wall and a bit sketchy from the outside but dont let that scare you away from the delicious food!!

This place is fantastic. The best thai food Ive found in houston. Firstly the disclaimer, the interior and ambience isnt going to win any Michelin stars, its a convenience store with a couple tables. But the food is very good authentic thai food. If you love panda express and thai cottage you probably wont like the food here. If you are like me and find lots of asian food too sweet and not at all spicy then give this place a try. You wont be disappointed.
