My first time at Tom Yum Thai and what a pleasure it was to let my senses enjoy the tastes! Four of us shared the corn patties, calamari, and Thai crispy vegetable rolls. One had the Chef special Salmon, two the coconut curry of Panang Curry, and the Red Curry. I had the Panang Curry with shrimp (deveined ones that many dont take the time to do). It was scrumptious to say the least with just a touch of Thai Basil mingled in. We all had "level two" and it was wonderfully spicy but not too much to overshadow the wonderful flavors. You get to choose from 3 more levels if you dare above 2!! Each came with a generous portion of steamed rice. They also offer Brown Rice as well. This is one of the best Thai experiences I have had. The place is super casual, comfortable seating and has a family feel. Thai is so totally different from Chinese or Japanese. If you havent tried Thai...go here for your first taste of the difference in even the fried rice. No frills here....just good food, AND, the prices are so reasonable for the amount of food you get. The appetizers were more than enough for four to share. The Calamari tastes different than what you have had at other ethnic restaurants. The rings were big and soooo tender. My three Filipino friends said it was the best they had. The curries are so deep in flavor with just enough veggies in it. Im not a fan of zucchini so the Panang was just perfect. Check out the menu on their website!! Lots of choices. You have to try this place. Like I said, no frills, just good food. Wish I could have tried everything, but, I will be returning for that and bringing my grandaughters ...they will love it. With Jasmine Tea for four, three appetizers, and four main courses the bill was under $60. What a deal!!

I personally judge Thai food restaurants by two items: Curry and Pad Thai. Both of these dishes at Tom Yum are absolutely delicious! Best that I have found in Texas. We also ordered the chicken satay and that was just as good, especially with the peanut sauce it comes with on the side. Tom Yum does not mess around with their spices. If you order "very spicy," thats what youll get. None of that "this is spicy for the average American palate" here. If you like it hot and spicy, this is your stop. They also delivered our food piping hot, which is always a plus. Great job, Tom Yum Thai!

This is the best Thai in town! I understand that this is Tom Yum Thais 3rd ownership, and the new(ish) owners are still overcoming hurdles from the last owner. This HAS GOT to be the best Thai that I have experienced - and I love to try new Thai restaurants. My normal meal is the Tung Tac with Shrimp, and my SO is veggie - so she gets hers with tofu. Very generous portions, they get the spice levels just how I request, and the friendly staff is attentive to their customers. I try to make it to Tom Yum Thai at least once every 2 weeks.

Food was delicious, best this food Ive had the pleasure of eating. Dine in or carry out, we sat in a big comfortable booth, we shared a pot of hot green tea, but they only put 2 tea bags in for a big pot so it was weak, but we drank it. Red curry was excellent, sweet with a bit of heat, garnished beautifully, good size portions, fantastic prices too. Our bill for 2 dinners, a shared green mango salad, and a hot pot of tea was around 30$. Definitely going back soon.

I was very doubtful going to this place which was small but everything changed after i ate at this place. The food is very good and price is not bad. I have come to realize that Big fancy restaurants have no authentic taste but big price tag/space. This place has delicious authentic food though it is small. Try it for taste and authenticity if your not looking for luxurious eating place.

I am a veggie and I love Thai food. I have been looking for a good Thai restaurant in Richardson area for a long time and I tried some. Impressed by the food quality during my first visit I have been to this place 5-6 times...After seeing the consistency in the food quality, I would rate Tom Yum as the Best Thai food restaurant in Garland/Richardson. Excellent food!!!!

Some of the best Tom kha soup Ive ever had. Prices were reasonable. Service was good. Only thing keeping it from earning that last star is unfortunately because I saw a couple of big roaches on the counter here and there was a fly bugging me. Appears to be fairly clean in the dining area but the presence of bugs makes me wonder about cleanliness in the kitchen.

This was my first experience with Thai food and Ive been hooked ever since! The food is delicious and weve always received wonderful service. We live within their delivery area which is an added bonus. Generous portions for a fair price and a friendly staff; if you havent been here you should definitely give it a shot!

Found this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try. Blew my expectations out of the water! The place was clean and not crowded. The food arrived quickly and was steaming hot. The only quam I had was the heat level was very high, ordered a 2 and the spice level was like a 4.

The pad Thai is too sweet, and the shrimp summer roll did not fit the menu description. The menu said that it came with an assortment of vegetables, but it was just mostly iceberg lettuce with a little bit of carrot and a leaf of basil.

The Crab Rangoon was incredible. I got the Sesame Chicken which was really fresh and the flavors were amazing. They customize each dish according to how spicy you want it. Everything was so delicious. Highly recommended.

Pad kee Mao was pretty tasty, although a little dry. I like their fried tofu. It was a little crispy, but yum. They have good prices for lunch, although not everything on menu is featured on lunch special.

I love the Friday buffet. It stays busy, so the food is fresh and constantly being replaced. Not a huge selection, but what is out there is tasty enough to fill you up.
