My kids had a great time here!! Love the ocean breeze and the lights. The workers were super friendly, and my son and his friend had a regular joke session regarding their pictures on the iron shark with the picture booth attendant. If you are looking for super razzle dazzle dont look here, it is a fun, friendly, family oriented, smaller pier carnival and it was EXACTLY what it should be. The lines were short, the kids rhode all of them, and rhode their favorites multiple times. They are open late, they are well lit, family friendly and quaint, and I could barely hold all of their winnings. My kids had smiles plastered to their faces, and for those of you that dont like this place, maybe you missed it because you were too busy looking for what it isnt. It isnt a luxury cruise, or an all inclusive trip to the grand caymans, it is affordable, family friendly fun. I love Galveston, because it is not so wall to wall people, because it is charming and wonderful and peaceful, and friendly, and because even though at one time, I know it was extremely busy, it isnt anymore, and for me and my family that is the best part. For the businesses, well they still have to stay in business. .right?? and if you pay a few dollars more than you thought you should for something, then you more than make up for it, with reasonable food, accommodations, and the opportunity to spwnd time in the salt air and soak up some happiness with your family. We love pleasure pier, and the kids prefer it to Six Flags because, they dont have to spend ages in line to ride, and dont have to worry about what they dont have time to fit in today. We will visit again in June and enjoy our time at pleasure pier and we are going to spend our money with the small business owners in Galveston and enjoy this place for exactly what it is..a little reminder of how simple and wonderful things can be. This place reminds me of the amusement park we used to go to when I was young, and there was nothing greater than a day here, games and rides, and carnival food, and sweet freedom.

The 3 of us got there at 11:30, bought 3 walk on passes a 2 rides. pricey for 30 minutes?? Yes. Do it again? HELLLL YEAHH!! Michael (mgr??) rode the swings with us and stayed around to ensure that no one closed down and we get what we paid for! I REALLY wanted to ride the coaster and he let us! And it was well after 12! (Thanks! Ill be back to see you!) (SN: he REFUSED any type of tip for making us so happy) It was the best time I have had in YEARS!!!! To the people that think its too expensive: Im sure ALL of you looked it up on the computer before going, you KNEW it was going to be expensive! But what amusement park isnt? For that matter, after popcorn and a soda its just as much as going to a movie! $100 for a family of 4 to ride and play all day? I believe its worth it! If you think its a rip to pay to just walk on, DONT WALK ON!! Their are other piers on the water! Go to one of those! Dont want to pay for pier food, go somewhere else, eat, go back! I do not pay for parking in their lot because I have no problem enjoying a stroll down the sea wall. The only and main thing I disagree with is not letting bottled water be brought in. I like my own water! Someone said they have no water fountains? Im not to sure about that but I did not look. I will look the next time I go back. Yes, I will be back!! Me, my 3 kids and probably a friend for my oldest! To people that want/expect the everything ~~FREE~~. WHERE ARE YOUR FROM!?? smh Word of wisdom when you have been stung by a jellyfish: DO NOT wash the jellyfish sting with REGULAR water, as this will only release more toxins into your blood stream and make the sting feel worse. Warm salt water is great and readily available. As gross as it may seem, Urine will neutralize the sting. If you have ever been stung and there is no help around, youll do it! lol Vinegar works too! A brief feel good is putting wet sand on it then and ice bag. It will get you to where you need to be. =D

First visit to the pier on August 9th at 8:30pm. Stood in a very long line to find out FROM AN EMPLOYEE that the power had gone out in the entire park and "everyone was receiving refunds". I asked if I was in the right line for a refund, I was told "yes". Half an hour later I came up to the window to be told I would have to get my refund online since I had pre-bought my tickets, I asked the guy working the will call booth at 8:30pm how to go about doing that online. He said to email them for a full refund. Today I was called by a representative of Pleasure Pier stating they were not giving out any more refunds. I asked why everyone standing in line that night received refunds and she responded with "because they had bought tickets for that night and had only been there 5 or 10 minutes". I had only been there 5 minutes and I specifically remember a calender when I purchased my tickets online and I chose Aug 9th. She offered to put me on will call but I do not live down there and dont know when I will ever be down there again? Why werent the other people being put on will call so they could come again at a later date? Why did they receive refunds? She also told me the power was not out at 8:30-which is a complete lie because it certainly was out at that time. I marked the time and date on my phone. It is completely unacceptable to be so coarse and so rude and not understanding to a paying customer who had a terrible experience and was specifically told by two employees that I would receive a full refund.

Its a fun time, but on a day there isnt a line you can ride everything in 2 hours then you are done. The ticket prices are higher than Kemah, where Kemah has WAY more to do than Pleasure Pier. We went on a buy one get one weekend, which made the prices more fair for what you got. Almost every worker who works at the rides is Asian and is NOT friendly. I think ONE spoke to us while we were getting on or off the ride, the rest had their hoods up on their head (I was so confused why ALL the workers had their hoodie hoods up on their head when it was 79 and sunny outside??) and wouldnt as much as smile at you. There was one AMAZING worker, Cathy. She was an older (not old but older than the normal workers) with short salt and pepper hair. This day she was working the ferris wheel. She was just a JOY! She would talk to each guest, make them laugh and wish everyone a good day at the pier. We were going around on the wheel when my daughter gave a thumbs up to Cathy and she just beamed back at my daughter and gave her a thumbs up too and once we got off, gave her a high five! THAT is how a worker should act! Another worker wouldnt even respond to my daughter when she said something to her TWICE! All the workers there should look to Cathy for an example of a great employee. We wont be there often, we went for my daughters birthday but if we had to pay full price, we will go to Kemah.
