Ive heard of this place before and I love trying new places for coffee. But I have to say I think its more of just a breakfast place. Walking in, I had no clue where to even order. But I was greeted and given a menu. The staff was very nice. Im a Barista myself and could tell they spent good money on their espresso machine but didnt have anyone that really knew anything about coffee. I asked for a Large Iced Breve Latte with caramel. Which means a Latte made with half & half Iced and caramel syrup. She was very confused. So I walked her through my drink. I really almost asked to come back behind the bar and show her how to make it. This place has amazing potential. I even noticed they have a drive thru! Thats awesome. Some training I think they would do really well.

I had lunch here for the first time on June 5 and had a great time. The staff is so friendly; the food quality is top notch and the homemade buns and pastries are to die for! I was so impressed that I took a different group of friends back the next day! The special of the day was a Sunrise Burger and it was devine! And as a special treat I got to meet the chef and talk about his vision for Rising Sun Cafe! Please help this establishment be a big success; stop in for a bite and then spread the word! This is not a "fast food" restaurant but a cafe that makes your food from scratch; if you are in hurry you can always call for a "to go" lunch.

The food is great, However my only negative thing to say about it was the portion size. Their prices look really good on the computer screen, however the portion size didnt accommodate the price to me. For instance, the meat on the burger was fairly large and thick as compared to the smaller bun that was served. The fries werent much but you have to think of it this way... This place doesnt serve dinner. Only lunch and breakfast. I would return over all from what I got being delicious. Plus I found it odd that they werent serving cupcakes even though they had many choices on the menu.

I went here with my father. My dad has always been a person who loves homemade biscuits. He grew up eating them fresh out the oven every weekend. He told me I had to try one with him because this place makes real biscuits. And he was right. It was a delicious sausage biscuit. Much better than what most places serve. The plus side of it all was the prices. In a time when every place feels like a waste of money; it is nice to have a place with good food and fair prices!

I went to Rising Sun Cafe on August 22 for lunch with my wife. We both enjoyed both the food and atmosphere! I had a cheese burger and fries with freshly baked bread! I havent eaten a burger that good in years! My wife had a sun dried tomato sandwich and she loved it. We both cannot wait to pass through Denton again and try a different dish. Take your friends, spread the word, this new restaurant is the place to go!!

I live in a nearby apartment complex and went here today for the first time. It was great! Very clean, tidy place with a nice atmosphere and friendly wait staff! I got the cheeseburger and chips and my friend got a breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns. We both really enjoyed it and I will definitely be going back!

The food is fast and delicious. The hash browns are the crispiest I have ever seen! They are the base in which I judge all other hash browns. Also their homemade sausage is fan-freaking-tastic. Oh and Nadine is one of the best servers in town. I hope she is there every time I go in.

Went here tonight with my family and the food and atmosphere was great. It was nice and quiet inside where we could actually talk to each other without loud music like many restaurants. The food was tasty and at a good price. Will definitely go back.

Great quaint little restaurant. Off the beaten path a bit. If you want a good breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning and dont want to wait an hour come to the Rising Sun Cafe. Great service good food HOT FRESH COFFEE!
