if you care about service, DONT go here!! Im ashamed to say that Ive been here several times with a friend. We have typically gone here after our weekly small group for church gets out to have a couple beers and smoke cigars out on their patio. I have personally witnessed VERY poor service from everyone from the hostess, to servers, to the bar tender and even management. The hostess: she seems to be on a power trip. I show up and ask if my friend and I can sit at a table up on the deck and watch the NBA playoffs. She says no thats not possible, and proceeds to take me to a table. I peel off when I notice the manager up on the deck conversing with some other patrons who themselves are up on the deck. He says its fine we can sit there, so we move, and now every time I come the hostess recognizes me and rolls her eyes and is truly unfriendly (SHES A HOSTESS!!!!) The servers are slow, forgetful, will openly tell you that food on the menu sucks (which it does at times), and are generally unhelpful. The bartenders do NOT come and help you unless you have girls with you. I have literally stood at the bar, eyes locked on the bar tender for over 10min and no service - I simply had to give up and walk away. Another time I saw a server bring a table a delicious looking ice cream dessert at 11:30. I asked the bartender if they have ice cream, he shoves a menu in my hand and says were down to our late night menu only. I ask "when do you switch to late night" he says "11:00", I respond, "I saw another table get some ice cream, any chance you could toss a scoop or two in a bowl for me" (its a hot july night by the way) "he replies "late night menu only"... this guy cant seem to find the time to open up a carton of ice cream and put 1 or 2 scoops into a bowl!!!!!! What ever happened to the customer is always right... or even give me the customer is right 50% of the time and that would be an upgrade from this place. its sad, cuz the atmosphere is super cool, and they have a decent beer selection and drink specials... its just that the service is a complete drag... What a disappointment. Was very excited to try this place after driving by it for years. The waitress was so stoned she messed up the appetizer order twice. She did make some recommendations which was nice. That was the extent of her serving abilities. Teas stayed unfilled for over 15 mins then she actually looked shocked when she asked if we wanted more (prior to food being served) Came back with the glasses , now we have no ice. Food arrived looks good but still another simple request was missed. More than almost done and she wanders over to see if we like it. Paying now , all plates still here, even the appetizer soup cup... wont be back or if I do, not with her. Food was good though. Place was not at all busy, only 2 tables inside occupied. Patio had a few tables. Upon leaving noticed her leaning in a hallway with many other servers and perhaps the manger. The lack of any concern we were there was very apparent.

Food is bland it honestly sucks compared to some of the other restaurants on Greenville Ave.. We got a Cheeseburger with aguacato wich was nothing more than a plain burger nothing fancy meat was not seasoned the only good thing about it was the side of sweet potato fries. We also ordered the pork chops, really nasty and burnt once again no flavor extremely bland! Kids chicken strips were the only good tasting food and the onion rings. Seems like maybe people go just for the alcohol and atmosphere and dont eat till they are drunk because there is no way they are rating the food. The patio is nice looking has a good ambiance if all you are looking for is beer and drinks then this place might be good for you.

The location is convenient, and there is plenty of parking and valet. All the food weve tried here was great, except for the steak which had the texture and taste of cardboard. But their chicken-fried steak was amazing, and the rustic Tex-Mex menu is so full of great dishes it makes it hard to decide which to order. Even the drinks are wonderful. The staff is very tot-friendly, and the ambience both on the patio and indoors takes you out of smoggy Dallas to someplace more relaxing. This is also a great place to go with a group of friends.

Weve eaten here 4 or 5 times since we moved to the North Dallas area. Food and atmosphere have been very inconsistent. Ive had the queso catfish twice, shrimp rellenos, and chicken fried steak. Menu has unique offerings. Half the time the food tasted fresh and full of flavor. The other times (a few Sundays ago specifically) it was busy and the food didnt taste as carefully made. Outdoor dining is great when the weather is nice. Fried okra is good. I feel like this place is a true 3.5, but I love fried okra... so lets round up to 4.

The design is great! You can choose to dine outside in their patio surrounded by beautiful plants and just enjoy the scenery! Or if you prefer you may sit inside and enjoy the Old Western decorum! The bar is amazing and the waiters are very attentive! I didnt even have to ask for a refill because the waiter had already noticed I was running low and by the time I was going to ask for a refill he was already on his way! The food is delicious and I highly recommend the Chicken Fried Steak w/ Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Onion Rings!

Great place for drinks on the cusp of University Park and SMU. Possibly the largest and best patio in Dallas, prices are great when specials and happy hour are happening, and reasonable for most other nights. Good music, great atmosphere, fairly good service and friendly staff generally. Clientele is SMU students, hipsters, young professionals, couples and singles looking to mingle. Patio scene is what this place special, so expect a large turnout during evenings and weekends when the suns out.

There are lots of options for every food mood here. I really love the spinach salad with grilled salmon. Mas Mejor is also very good, and so are the chicken strips. They do a bloody mary bar for weekend brunch and there are tons of options for building the best bloody mary ever. Some of the waiters are better than others. Some are really really awesome.

Amazing chicken fried steak (ranked #1 in Dallas, now we know why)! Beautiful scenery, atmosphere. Our server Billy was fantastic!! After learning it was first time, he listened and made suggestions that were perfect for us! Prices were great too, definitely walked away full without emptying out wallet! Well be back!!!!

I have been eating here for 10 years. They have always had consistently good food. Its a great lunch spot and a laid back place to hang out in the evening. They have, hands down, the best Chicken Fried Steak in DFW. The bar and patio are really spacious and well laid out, it never feels crowded, even when its busy.
