My husband and I went to celebrate out anniversary. I will warn others that you are NOT guaranteed a seat by the window. However, where we were placed were a table where it is close enough to see out. There is a ledge that is on the side so, even if you sit by the window, you get the same view as someone at a table so any seat in the place is a good seat! We did the 7 course meal which was outstanding. The flavors progressing throughout the meal were amazing and the portion sizes and spacing were perfect. I had ordered a few drinks from the cocktail menu which all were superbly done. Everything had an ebb and flow with the meals. The only thing that was a bit lacking was the service. We had two primary people in our area that took care of us. When we first arrived, it took about 15 minutes to get our drink order (which was just a cocktail and a beer). Later on that evening, I found it odd that I had to request drink menus or pull someone to get another drink at our table. My husband was offered once while still working on his beer while I had no drink and not once did she ask if I wanted something else. Finally, I pulled someone over and asked them if I could see the drink menu to give them a hint. 5 minutes later, they came back, I ordered, and 20 minutes later I had to ask about my drink again (which they DID end up getting promptly after I said something). The secondary waiter who heard me asking thought I was asking about my food and said "the steak will be out shortly" where we reiterated to him that we were just inquiring on my drink and that the pacing/food was perfect that we were ok and not to worry at all. My husband and I are very patience and dont like to be "uppity" or anything when we go out so we didnt really made a stink or anything about it. But, after 20 minutes on that one drink, I just had to ask about it (not be upset or whatnot). I just found it unusual for that type of service; especially for a special occasion. Dessert was wonderful (and was included in the course). They put a happy anniversary message on our plates, which was nice. The view, even though it was cloudy out, was beautiful. Valet was very quick and attentive. Also, expect a loud type of atmosphere. You are still close enough to have a conversation, but the noise echos a bit with the glass panes between sections AND against the windows. So, if you are looking for quiet type relaxing atmosphere, I would definitely say this isnt the place. However, if you are looking for a trendier, energetic atmosphere with a lot of experimental flavors, youve found the right place.

Any time you eat at a restaurant associated with big-name chefs, expectations are necessarily high. 560 in downtown Dallas was no exception and our expectations were more than met--they were surpassed! The atmosphere at 560 is just what you would imagine. Located at the top of Reunion Tower (560 ft up), you are treated to a birds-eye view of downtown and everything for miles beyond. The decor was very classy and everything was very neat and orderly. But the food--oh yes--the food was spectacular! This was our 10-year anniversary dinner and it couldnt have been better. We splurged and went with all three courses. For an appetizer we ordered the crispy shrimp and lobster spring rolls with ten-spiced honey dipping sauce. Im not a seafood lover, but this is one of those exceptions. The lobster and shrimp were perfectly cooked and married with Asian seasonings and the dipping sauce was a nice compliment. The waiter also brought us a plate of Asian green beans sauteed with some sesame oil and other spices. It was almost as good as the spring rolls! We each ordered an entree--my wife the sautéed flounder and I the beef filet au poivre. The flounder was tender and moist and the flavors there were great. The only reservation we had here was with the marmalade--it was a little stout for the amount on the plate. My filet was superb. Tender and buttery like a filet should be and the pepper crust was perfect. One tiny drawback here was my own fault--I had them prepare it medium when I should have gone medium rare. It was still incredibly tender and moist, but I really should have gone one stage down. For desert, we ordered the hazelnut chocolate decadence cake, nicely adorned with an anniversary wish in chocolate sauce. The cake was delicious as was the sauce, but the chocolate sorbet was unlike anything Id ever had and it was the best of its kind Ive ever tasted. Needless to say, I would eat there again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, my wallet will not let me save for a very special occasion. If youre looking for a place to celebrate a special day or achievement, look no further than Wolfgang Pucks 560--simply fabulous!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary dinner here in July 2009. I wasnt too impressed with the ladies at the front desk (both downstairs at check in and in the restaurant when you walk in) - they came across as serious and stern, but working at a front desk myself, I understand what they have to deal with on a daily basis. When I walked in to the restaurant, the view took my breath away! Then, our servers were phenomenal. They took such great care of us - I found the servers to be extremely attentive, friendly and very pleasant. Service was also very quick. We started off with items from the sushi bar. I thought that the Stonehorse made this better than anyone else, but I was wrong - the Sushi rolls at Five Sixty were out of this world. Again, the chefs at the sushi bar were great. When we were waiting for our check to arrive I was expecting a huge bill, close to $250, but I was pleasantly suprised. Five Sixty is not as expensive as everyone else says it is. Overall I think the value for money, the view, the servers, restaurant manager and chefs were all attentive to their guests. I would definitely recommend Five Sixty for anyone wanting something pleasant and romantic. My husband and I plan to have dinner there again soon. The only disappointment was the entrees. The meat was way too much - huge, huge portions and very little vegetables. It would have been better if the meat had been less and the veggies more. Another great thing is the moving floors - people tend to give the wrong impression about the restaurant revolving - it does not - only the outer section of the floor moves - the ball itself and the middle section of the restaurant where the kitchen and bathrooms are, does not move. But it is surely something you need to experience at least once in your lifetime. Word of advice - make your reservation at least a month in advance - reservations fill up quickly.

Five-Sixty is a joke. Ever heard about or been to one of those overpriced restaurants that serve a plate of food-art instead of a meal? Well, this is one of them. My fiancé and I had reservations, but we showed up early to enjoy a couple drinks before our meal. The signature cocktail my fiancé ordered was called a "show me love". It contained almost no alcohol and tasted just like lemonade (very expensive lemonade). I order a martini every time we go out, and this time it simply was not the quality I find at other restaurants. We each had two drinks and shared a plate of sushi for $75 without the tip. We were seated later than what we had reservations for. We ordered food immediately and received it over an hour later. When our plates arrived I was beyond disappointed - I had half a mind to just ask for the bill and leave without eating. Both plates were cold. My plate of lamb consisted of two small lamb chops (with a surprising amount of gristle) and a small cup of soup containing vegetables and lamb pieces (again, mostly fat). My fiancé had the duck. This tasted alright despite being cold, but had more fat and skin than meat. The lo mein noodles that came with it were cold and congealed as if they came out of a can. We both had one more cocktail, bringing our meal cost to $135 minus tip. The view was great, but by the end of the night we just wanted to get out as fast as possible. I dont mind paying a high price for a fancy meal, but this simply wasnt a meal.
