Let me start this review with I left the restaurant in tears, mostly out of complete disrespect. Let me also say that I have now purchased 5 cakes from III Forks and the first three were spectacular, not to mention my husband and I eat at this restaurant once every three months. Now I am not sure what has gone wrong in the past two years but the service has diminished severely. Last year I purchased my anniversary cake and to say disappointment crossed my mind is an understatement. Imsure everyone can understand this is what last years cake looked like, a most certainly version of "nailed it." Now this year I was a little more particular when ordering. I didnt ask for special writing or over the top decorations, just simply stated I would like it nicely decorated, and I let the young lady know it would be for our anniversary. Maybe in hopes to make it a bit special. Well 2017 has not disappointed, it has DEMOLISHED my hopes that it would be great. I have posted a picture of all 5 cakes with dates. This year was plain and I mean very plain. To be honest I was upset but not nearly as upset with the cake as I was with the lack of customer service. I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. I waited for about 3-5 minutes to even be acknowledged that I was there. The bartender was working right in front of me and never greeted me or asked to help, the manager himself walked right past me, never said a word. Maybe it was bbecause i wasnt dressed to "the nines," as i was going home to get ready for our get together only wearing a tshirt, capris and flip flops. It wasnt until a woman came from the back and asked if I had been helped. I explained to her I was there to pick up my cake I ordered and she had to speak with the manager, the same manager that walked past me. So my cake comes out and I want to pay cash, its 3:15pm and they can not cash me out for a $43 cake with me handing them $60. So credit card it is. Then I looked at the caked and tell the woman how disappointed I am not for the 2nd year in a row. At which point the manager comes out and proceeds to argue with me, telling me they do not have a pastry chef nor do they decorate. I asked have they ever done so in the past, as I knew they have because of the first 3 I have purchased. He proceeds to tell me they only make tasty desserts not necessarily pretty desserts. Folks I am going to have to find a new place for my husband and I to frequent even for dinner because I refuse to do business here any longer. Please take a look at the pictures.

I have out of town guests so I decided to take them to III Forks for a taste of Texas steaks. We had been there before in the past and I thought it might be a good way to end the guests stay before they headed home. We made reservation for 7:30PM on a Sunday in June, 2009. When we arrived we thought the place would be packed, but to our surprise the place was rather empty. We selected a table in the garden section (to the left of the entrance) It was quite nice in the beginning, with warm, diffuse sunlight filtering in from the roof. We ordered our drinks and our entree. I also ordered a bottle of Chilean red wine. The service was very slow. By the time our food arrived to our table one guest was outside having a smoke, another one was in the bathroom and my wife was so bored she was walking around the other section of the restaurant! My filet mignon wasnt medium-rare as I had ordered, perhaps it sat on the warmer for a long time. The mushroom and the creamed corn were so-so. My steak was so salty the first few bites that I had to wash it down with water. In fact the only positive note was that bottle of Chilean red wine. It was excellent. By the time we finished our steak it was already past 9:30PM and our guests had to catch early morning flight the next day, so I had to ask the waiter to box the dessert. By the time we left the restaurant it was 10PM. We were the only guests in the garden section. It was so dark that I had to turn on my iPhone to read the bill. The garden section was completely empty. We though we were dining in a dark, quiet, and empty garage. It was spooky with the flickering gas lanterns on the wall. Our tab came to $320 for 4 of us. I thought the guests were less than impressed with the service and with the steak. Compared to our experience in the past. This time it was definitely substandard. Next time I have guests and I want to show them what a real Texas steak is all about, I would take them elsewhere.

I took my husband here last night for his 34th Birthday. I saw a co worker of mine put on her Facebook on Friday that she was dining here, so I thought I would try a change of pace from our usual Salt Grass for special occasion. The ambient was very relaxing and interesting. What a neat experience! The staff was very courteous. Our waiter Vincent was very kind and attentive.. although I would suggest that he articulate when speaking. I understand speaking to guests in a low voice is appropriate for the dining experience here, but just articulate so he can be understood. ;) The food: We ordered 2 22oz Rib eye steaks boneless. The steak was kind of tough, and not as flavorful as what we were used to at Salt Grass. This steak is thicker, so I get how it is likely that Salt Grass steak be more tender. BUT FLAVOR -- Salt Grass takes the win. The presentation was better than the steak. My husband loved the cream corn.. OH and what I really loved and appreciated is Vincent brought us a complimentary slice of cake for his birthday! A lot of restaurants stopped doing this for birthdays.. so my respects to management for continuing this special gesture. He even wanted me to save the candle ! :) Overall.. it was a wonderful experience and we were relaxed the whole time. We already have plans to return.. perhaps we will try the Filet Mignon next time.

I have been there several times in the past and was very dis-satisfied with the service that I received on Thursday. I ordered a Medium rare steak and when i received, it was a little rare for my taste so i asked the waiter to throw it on the grill for a little longer. I wasnt upset at that point since I thought it was a minor request. But the waiter very abruptly said that I should have ordered a medium if i wanted it to be cooked more. It really made me feel stupid when I have ordered a medium rare steak in the past here and never gotten it like that before. At that point I let it go and waited for my steak. When I received the steak it was a New York Strip rather the the filet that i had originally had ordered. I didnt even ask for a new steak, i only wanted the filet that I had to be cooked a little more. I kept my mouth shut and didnt say anything since the rest of the table was waiting for me to get my food and there food was getting cold. I am very disappointed in the customer service that I received here and its a shame because i really do enjoy the food there. Hopefully no one has another experience like I had.
