Pesimo el trato d la mesera.una señora delgada,cabello pintado d rubio...nos hablaba en ingles.yo se ingles,pero me gusta hablar mi idioma. Hacia como si no entendiera lo q le decia.nos mando a un señor,creo q trabaja en la cocina,eso si miy amable,pero se notaba q no tenia experiencia en servir,PERO LO HIZO BIEN. Bueno,fui al baño,y vi y escuche a la señora hablando ESPAÑOL!!mi señora no termino su platillo,el "mesero" no se veia. Obvio,no lo era..le hablamos a la sra. Para pedir un box to go".. The nachos were too soggy to be picked up with the fingers. They need to either use thicker chips, less cheese, less watery beans, or make them small enough that they wont fall apart under their own weight. On the up side, they do use real cheddar instead of cheese sauce, and they serve sliced jalapenos on the side. The complimentary chips were not too salty or too greasy, but they also had no flavor. The salsa was thin and watery and tasted too ketchup-y for my palate. The cinco enchiladas, five tiny enchiladas, each with a different filling, were an interesting concept whose execution did not impress. Everything was the same consistency: mushy, thin and watery. The brownie skillet sundae was an enormous dark, dense brownie, easily enough for two or three people. By comparison, the scoop of ice cream topping it was way too small, ruining the ice cream to brownie ratio. The presentation, when they pour on the brandy butter sauce and it hits the overheated "skillet" and bubbles and sizzles, is nice, but that buttery sauce pretty much turned to toffee against the hot skillet, and what was left liquid was far too hot to touch until the ice cream had mostly melted. I remember now why El Chico has always had one of the poorest reputations amongst the enormous number of tex-mex chain restaurants in Dallas. With a tex-mex restaurant practically on every corner, its easy to do better than this.

I called today to place and order for pick up. I was on hold for 6 minutes and by the time the girl answered I was walking through the door and she already had an attitude. I placed my ordered waited at the bar and forgot to tell I wanted queso on rice. She tells me its $1.99 to put it on my dry rice which is a small scoop. Who pays $1.99 for a spoon full of cheese. I have gone to El Chico for years and today was my last visit. Then she says she would like to know who wasnt charging me to put it on my rice. I didnt like her attitude from the time I walked in. That was the first time I had a bad experience there and it will be the last because I wont be back. I rather pay more and go to Papasitos where they dont charge $1.99 for a spoon full of cheese.

Im still sorry I couldnt leave a zero star rating. We were there for my sons birthday, the time was approximately 9:20pm on 8-18-17. We walked in and the hostess made a very disgusted face when we walked in. Then I proceeded to ask him if it was still good time for us to eat and he shrugged and said "yeah" with a very negative attitude. We then sat down and a server looked at my son and rolled his eyes and deeply sighed walking away. We all started feeling very uncomfortable, and decided it was best to just leave. The attitude of the works was very hostile and should be fixed, definetly the last time we think about going there.

My food was good. But at the bar, I ordered a beverage ... out of the ingredients necessary to make my drink ... so I went with bartender suggestion ... tender came back to me with out of alcohol to make her suggested drink. This is in the bar on a Friday before evening traffic. It was a blessing in disguise. I didnt need an alcoholic beverage anyway. I ordered tea and proceeded to early dinner with friends. Service is hit or miss as another guide mentioned. Place was clean though.

The service is the number 1 reason I always come back to this location. The staff is always friendly and stays on top of anything you need. The food was good too which is a plus. If one thing stands out to me, it is how well I am treated every time I come here. My table was wobbly and before I could say anything about it the waitress was gone to get something to stabilize it. They always got a refill on my drink before I asked. I have to say I am impressed with this place!

My boyfriend and I stopped by at random after a quick trip to Microcenter. I order the sizzling chicken salad and expected an okay salad, but was pleasantly surprised at the freshness and flavor! My boyfriend got the Caballero sampler and loved it as well. Has a low key patio to enjoy, and wasnt too busy when we came so service was prompt and courteous. Our waitress Sophia was great! I would recommend trying this place out if youre in the area!

I do like everything at el chico!!wow This place its amazing ! My food its always perfect !the way I want it and how I like it ,even if I forget something My waitress always take care of it. The staff are just like family !I always visit el chico the one located by the movie grill on keystone ,on spring valley and 75,, And the patio its awesome!!!!! Thanks El chico and thanks at the staff that always makes me wants to go back! :-)

I go at least once every week but only bc the food is good- once they finally get the order right. Every single time Ive been, our food has been wrong and the service is absolutely HORRIBLE! Even being the only table in the restaurant, they take forever to get your food or to even come check on you or provide refills. The only good server there is Robert- he takes good care of the customers. Everyone else really sucks.

Horrible customer service. I ordered takeout. I wasnt greeted when I walked inside so I assumed that I should go the the bar for service. There was no bartender present. I flagged a server down and requested assistance and he agreed to help. 3 minutes later, a lady server called my name with a tray in her hand with bags and my order on a tray and said "its all here" and walked away. I was made to bag my full order up.

Honestly was not impressed with flavor. I had some chicken with mushrooms, beans soup, rice, guacamole and tortillas. Chicken was just sitting on top of a pile of onions. What can I say? Mushrooms mixed with melted cheese were good. Soup was ok. Rice was overcooked and sour cream with guacamole had a strange flavor.. Did enjoy my company, did not enjoy food actually. Next time will try salad.

I order the top shelf fajitas, and the shrimp was not devined, the manager came over to the table and told me that the shrimp wasnt in season, like that made an excuse. They should have cleaned the shimp! Service was awesome our waiter was very nice and on time, but i was very dissappointed with management.
