This is in the heart of the Bishops Arts District. A little pricey for breakfast items, but they were solid dishes, great flavor and wonderful service. It is a small location. Definitely will need reservations for large groups of 6 or more. There is dining inside and outside. You can call ahead to see if they are busy, which I would advise, or their will be a wait. It is one of the fancy breakfast places to be seen. Not like a regular cafe where you can feel more relaxed and just have a book or newspaper and read. Parking in the area is difficult. It is in a new revitalized area, lots of constructions. Definitely not like Plano, or Allen with 6 lanes. So, prepare accordingly if you are new to the area. Dishes for brunch were pricey. They had flatbreads, hamburgers, sandwiches, mimosas, bloody marys and more. Your less typical and very chef inspired dishes for brunch versus, 2 eggs and bacon. Prices were 10 dollars and more and the bloody mary was 9 dollars. They did have a bloody mary that was 12 with your choice of liquor. I found the regular bloody mary to be overly iced and watered down. I ordered the biscuits and egg. That was a delicious dish. About 12 bucks, I believe. It is a good fulfilling meal. Nice touch on the sony side up egg on top with chorizo gravy. Excellent flavors. We also had the french toast and that is highly recommended. Very firm crisp toast with marmalade, whip cream and syrup. Excellent, just excellent. My wife had the egg sandwich with a nice bread and salad mix. Very good choice as well. Since it is small, it can get very loud and it is difficult to hear especially with a dynamic group and extroverted group. Not a cozy place for peace and quiet. Very active and full of energy.

Went for brunch on a Sat. The area is a little sketchy looking, but never felt unsafe. Not a ton of parking, but we were able to park on the street. It was pretty busy, but we were seated very quickly. Its a cool building. The atmosphere is interesting in a good way. Its a little loud inside, but not too bad. The service was great. They were very attentive and knew all about the menu. The menu is pretty small, but our table of 4 ordered four different dishes and everyone loved their food. I had the Eggs Benedict. It was delicious. Its pretty pricey. The Eggs Benedict was $16. Again, its great food, but for the type of food and the amount of food, thats pretty high in my book. I did have a hair my food. I had eaten most of my meal when I noticed it. I didnt ask for them to do anything about it, I just brought it to their attention. The waiter was very apologetic. When I got the bill, they had taken off half of the price of my meal. I thought that was a pretty low-rent move to not comp the whole thing. Yes, I did eat most of the meal, but come on. After walking out and getting to our car, we realized we left our "to go" box on the table. This was my daughters meal, not mine. When I got back to the table it had already been cleared. My fault for sure. To their credit, they offered to prepare a new meal to replace the portion of out meal they thew away. The hair and price is why Im not given them 5 stars, but we will go back. Overall it was great food and great service.

I reserved with them by calling at 3:30 pm for 8:00 pm. I originally wanted 6:00 pm but I was told they had a big party and that a spot would be open for my party of 10 at 8pm so I said ok. Well we get to the place at 8:00pm and were told our party could not be seated until everyone was there. We informed them that our party was all here at 8:05 then they told us to wait at the bar because they were 10 minutes behind. Between 8 pm to 9pm they managed to sit two party of 4s at the back tables while my party waited at the bar. The waiter finally came back to us at 8:45pm and said that someone was leaving at the same back tables where people were escorted to. Then he turned around and sat a group of 7 at another table while my original group of 10 now turned to 7 was still waiting for our seats. We had to talk to someone for them to understand we were still waiting even though we made a reservation 4.5 hours in advance. While waiting we were asked to wait on the patio at the bar, where there were not enough seats for our party for an hour, we also paid $10 weak margarita that had more ice then liquor. No one asked us if we wanted to eat, no one asked us if we wanted an appetizer. At this point I feel like the reviews are all full of it. This is the worse restaurant I have ever been to. All we wanted to do was celebrate my friend. Chip listened to us however and tried to fix the horrible customer service.

Had a really bad experience at Bolsa. They sat us against this wall on their patio that was basically where people would hang out at around the bar before they got seated. The waitress didnt even know we were there sitting/waiting until we flagged her down. We even asked to move, but they told us no (lame) So, whatever we go about ordering and the decor/ambience was nice... thats about it. The menu is definitely overpriced for what you get, I dont think a small piece of roasted chicken on top of okra should be in the mid to high $25-$28 range and the gnocchi was in that $25 range as well. Funny thing is we got appetizers too, and couldnt tell which was the appetizer and which was the entree in terms of the serving size being so small. The service was really slow to the point where the waitress would just come to our table every 15-20 minutes with a "thanks for being patient"... not even an apology or anything. So, we ordered cheesecake for dessert, and I took a picture of it to upload online because it was so laughable... probably the size of slice of one of those sara lee cheesecakes you can buy at the grocery store. So, in summary Id say food tasted fine... but it was pretty much just that, a tasting... and youre paying quite a premium for it. Decor is nice. Service is awful.

We had open table reservations for 7:00pm on 6/18/16. We arrived at 7:05pm. We were told that our table would be ready in "a couple of minutes". We complained at 7:30pm about not being seated and seeing diners who came in after us getting tables (did they have 6:00pm reservations?). We were given an earnest and very frustrating explanation by the hostess about how tables with four seats were for parties of four and tables with two seats were for tables of two. We finally walked out and had a great dinner at Pink Magnolia up the street. We did not have reservations there, and they were really busy at 7:40pm on a Saturday night, but they put us at the bar (not standing uncomfortably at the door), and constantly kept us updated on our status. We were seated after about a half hour - without a reservation - and had a great dinner. We left feeling like Pink Magnolia appreciated our patronage, even though they were slammed. Interestingly, my wife and I waffled about reserving at Bolsa, because the last time we were there we thought the service was iffy, although the food was OK. OK food does not trump "shoot the finger" service.
